Chapter 16

Cassidy POV “Wow! This is so picturesque!” I can't contain my emotion. We’re in his helicopter going to a wedding. The aerial view of the island is so beautiful. The island has been surrounded by the blue sea. It’s like you see a vivid green color in the middle of the blue ocean. I can’t get my eyes off the view. It is only when Alexander’s hand slightly squeezes mine. He’s smiling at me. "You okay?" "Yep!" I say, smiling at him, too. His friends are in different helicopters going to the wedding as well. Three helicopters were convoying in the air while the one we’re in was the first one that flew out of the hangar. “You ready?” Alexander places his left hand on my bare back as soon as we've landed. I changed my dress before we left his office. Alexander had it in his office for this especial occasion. “Yeah!” I chirp. Though not sure if I sound excited or keyed-up. “Be yourself, baby.” He whispers and kisses my temple before we stride into the entrance. Celebrities and famous people in different industries are mostly here when I scan around the place. I see some famous stars attending the wedding. This island costs millions just to rent for a day. The guests are all so glamorous. Even the staffs and the coordinator are all elegant in their outfits. Wow! I feel like I am in an out of this world wedding. Before we’ve gone here, Alexander had debriefed his friends about their surprise for the groom. The reason I was in the conference room, too, was he wanted to introduce me to his friends. Moross was actually surprised when he recognized me. FLASHBACK... “Is she your flavor of the month, Alexander?” Moross asked. I was offended, but of course I still kept it cool. Not wanting to give him the satisfaction of hurting me. “Better watch your words, Moross.” Ulysses butted-in while shaking his head. Then looked at me, somewhat apologizing for Moross’ behaviour, which I just assured him with a smile. “Why? I was just asking? Didn’t you have a lot of women two weeks ago, Alex?” Was he provoking Alexander?? What was his deal?? But what l didn’t foresee was Alexander’s response. “Don’t pass your dirt on me, Moross. And don’t play s**t on me and my girl. Just don’t.” The dangerous in Alexander’s voice had Moross shut from his seat. He just raised his hands as if to surrender. The atmosphere had quickly changed. “Hey, it’s okay. I’m sure he didn’t mean that way.” I said and the rest of his friends assented. I looked at Moross, but he just gave me a smirk. Whatever thoughts he had about me, he just kept them by himself. While, Alexander had been glaring at him throughout the conversation. PRESENT... The wedding hasn’t started yet. Alexander leads me to the crowd, and he greets some people he knows. He also introduces me to Gabriel, the groom. “Were you not the one I saw in the StarVIP?” he asks. “I was. Uhm, my best wishes to you and your bride.” “Thank you.” Alexander told me I don’t need to bring any gifts and even I wanted to there’s no time either. A few minutes later, and the wedding ceremony has finally started. Alexander is one of the groom’s men. I’m sitting on the chair for the guests while I’m staring at him. “Is he your boyfriend?” The woman beside me asks. OMG! She’s the famous actress. Anj idolizes her. That’s why she’s familiar to me. “Hi. Um, I’m sorry, but who were you referring to?” “Alexander Montavo.” “Oh! Uhm, yes. He is.” I smile, but she frowns. “Do tou know him? Or, a friend? I’m sorry, I only know a few of his friends.” I explain. “No. We’re not friends.” She quickly answers and then turns her back on me as she talks to the other guest beside her. That’s rude. The wedding ceremony has finally done. And everyone congratulates the bride and the groom. We’re now in the reception area but I back off as I’m feeling not belong to these types of people. Instead, I scan at the surrounding while searching for Alexander. But he’s nowhere to be seen. I just spoke with him ten minutes ago. “Hey.” I stop from my track when Moross blocks my way. “Mr. Bunebiv.” “It’s Moross. Please call me Moross.” “Yeah! Sure... Uhm, do you need something?” “Uhm, yeah. I just want to apologize for my behaviour earlier.” That surprises me. But I’m happy. “Yeah. No problem. Apology accepted.” “Thanks. Uhm, are you not going inside?” “No. I’m good here. Besides, I feel like I’m not belong there. You know not part of.” I don’t know why I open it up with him, but it feels great to let out what bothers me. “There are many people who really don’t belong there, Ms. Lopez. They’re just all pretentious freaks. They’re gaining something from this wedding. That’s why they’re all here. You know the political thing and how money works." “And you? Are you one of those freaks?” I really have the tendencies to blurt out my thoughts without giving a second thought. And this is just one of the few. “Haha! Nope. We’re here for the bride and groom only. They're our friends.” “I see.” I slightly smile and excuse myself to go for a walk. I also text Alexander that I’ll be by the shore. “Aren’t you looking for Alexander?” Crap! I didn’t know that he’s following me already. “Goodness! You startled me.” “Didn’t mean to. Sorry." “It’s fine. Uhm yeah, I just couldn’t find him.” “I saw him with Cheska.” Cheska? “Cheska? The actress?” “Uh-huh...” But she said they’re not friends. “Oh--- I’ll just wait for him here.” “I don’t think he’ll be here sooner.” Huh? "Uhm, it’s okay. I’ll just wait here.” “Ms. Lopez, believe me. You will just wait here forever.” “Alright. Fine.” Inside the vast reception hall, Moross leads me to another door. “Hey, man.” Moross stops the server and takes the glass of wine and hands it to me. “Oh! Uhm, thanks.” “Take my arm, Cassidy.” “Huh? Why?” “You’ll know. Trust me.” I really don’t know why, but I just do as she says. I don’t know if he’s planning on something. As we get to the middle, some guests are obviously staring at us. I'm glad I hold Moross arm. This is probably the reason he wanted me to hold his arm because the way they're staring at me makes me want to go out again. It doesn't take long and we immediately sight the bride and the groom. “Hey, guys. Congratulations.” Moross happily greets them. I’m still beside him, arching my arm on his. “Thanks, bro. Hi, Cassidy. Uhm, love this is Cassidy. Alexander’s girlfriend. Cassidy, my beautiful wife, Sabrina.” Gabriel is in deed telling the truth. Sabrina is so gorgeous. She’s like an angel, especially when she smiles. “Best wishes.” “Thank you. And you're Alexander's girlfriend? I thought he and Cheska reconciled? Oh nevermind. I'm sorry I must have misunderstood what I saw earl---“ "Sorry, what?" Her words confuse me. But, Gabriel, butt in. “Oh, you know what? Love, why don’t we let them enjoy the party?” There’s something he's hiding. “Bro, why don’t you bring Cassidy inside the banquet. She’s probably hungr or want to drink." Drinks? In case he’s blind, I raise the glass of wine I am holding. But Moross and I still excuse ourselves and go to the banquet side. We're greeted by the voluptuous cuisine in front of us. All are mouth-watering. All are brand new to my eyes. Don't they eat bread or pasta? “I’ll just ask Ulysses if he sees Alexander. Okay? Get what you want here.” “Oh, okay. Thank you.” Moross smiles and walks away. He's leaving me alone with these people I don’t personally know. I hear the host is asking every woman who’s not married, yet in a relationship, to gather in the middle. To my surprise, Sabrina comes over and pulls me to the middle. “Wait. I, I don’t want---“ “You’re fine, doll.” She smiles and leaves me with the rest of girls. “In 3, 2, 1....” I don't move when Sabrina tosses the bouquet. It could have dropped to my feet if I haven’t caught it on time. OMG! Everyone is in glee and they're cheering. I am not really sure what’s going on. Finally, I see Alexander on the left side. He smiles at me as he raises his glass of wine as he winks. Oh, crap! Why is he so handsome? I automatically raise the bouquet, too. I go back to the chair I was sitting earlier while staring at the bouquet. “You got it.” Moross comes back as he grins at me. He glances at the flowers. “Yeah. Unfortunately.” I utter. “Hahaha! Unfortunately, huh?” Before I can respond, Alexander comes in. Moross immediately leaves us for some weird reason. Maybe, he's just giving us our moment. “Hey.” “Hi. Where have you been?” “I had to fix something” “About what?” “Just business, princess.” “Oh- Okay.” He leans closer and sniffs the crook of my neck, which still covers by my hair. He groans as his grip gets a little tight. I feel my tiny hair all rise up. Can't help but shudder. He chuckles, yet he whispers near my ear. “I can’t wait to bring you home.” His naughty stare makes me blush and I glance away. I remain quite trying to focus on what the host is saying. “What does Moross want? Did he say something to you?” Alexander asks. “No. He was actually helping me to find you.” “Did he?” “Uh-hmm...” “That’s new...” Alexander’s piercing gaze seems like he’s doubting Moross. I am about to question him about it, but someone sits in front of us and disturbs our conversation. Alexander and I are sitting beside each other, and there are chairs in front of us, too. That's where Cheska sits on. “Hey! Mind if I sit here?” Suddenly, she becomes friendly. She did the contrary earlier. “Yeah, sure!” I say, trying to be casual. She glances at Alexander, which I also follow her gaze at. His brows slightly crease, he’s looking at Cheska particularly. “Oh, you got the bouquet?” Cheska is trying to make a conversation. But I really find it awkward. Is she dumb blind? I thought. She was there too, when it tossed to us. Did she get an amnesia? Then cameras flash on us, I somewhat hide from Alexander’s body. I forgot to respond to her. “That’s enough.” I hear Alexander telling the photographer. I guess the photographer obeys quickly as there are no more flashes after that. “Are you okay, baby?” He whispers. Giving me his full attention. “Yes. Thank you.” “Uhm, so what’s your name? Alexander, you didn’t introduce me to her.” Cheska butt-in. She still doesn't get the hint that Alexander doesn't want to talk to her. Wait, didn't she say they were not friends? I look at Alexander again and he seems not to care about Cheska’s words. “It’s Cassidy. Cassidy Lopez.” I answer, instead. “So, Cassidy. Are you from what clan?” Clan?? “Stop pestering my girlfriend, Cheska. Piss off.” Alexander grunts and that obviously surprises Cheska. Her smiles has instantly changed into frown. Her glare longers at me and then back to Alexander. Maybe she feels embarrassed when Alexander ignores her completely. Jn fact his left hand is busy skimming down to my thigh. I secretly hitch as I surprisingly glances at him. He smirks but still he continues on caressing my thigh under the table. "Alexander-" I whisper. Giving him a warning. "Hmp!!" Cheska sneers. She's fuming as she leaves our table. “What was that?” I ask him a few moments later. "Nothing." He smiles. He really looks handsome. In fact if we're not in public, I probably squeeze his face and pinch it like a child. He's so effin good looking man. "What about Cheska?" “She’s nothing but a pain.” “Were you in a relationship with her?” “Yes.” “Oh-“ That takes me aback. That’s why she was such a b***h earlier. I kinda feel hurt, though. I don't knkw I just suddenly feel insecure. Cheska was a very fine woman. No wonder she held as the most beautiful face in the industry. “Let’s go.” “Are we leaving now?” I ask. I really want to go home. I still have work tonight which is also last day. “Yeah.” I don’t think their surprise for the groom has given out already. “How about the surprise? Have you guys given it to them?” “No. But Ulysses and Yale will do. Let's just tell them we're leaving." "Okay." We walk towards the stars of the day. The Bride and the Groom. But Alexander never lets go of my hand. He is surely famous because every guest greets him as we pass by. “Hey, Gab.” “Yow, Alex.” I let them talk while Sabrina pulls me with her. “Wait-“ Alexander tries to stop her too, but Gabriel says something. “Where are we going?” I ask afterwards. “To welcome you into the family. You are Alexander’s girlfriend, they should know about you. You know, Alexander is really a s*x magnet, so I have to stop these guests of mine from gawking at him.” Sabrina winks at me after. Because of what she says, I suddenly get curious about the surrounding. True to what she tells me, people are staring at him, mostly young pretty ladies. “Hey, guys...” Sabrina calls out to the ladies in the room. We're already in the other room. She probably gathers them here. Of course, Cheska is here, too. I accidentally glances at her but she sneers at me. “Listen up, ladies. I want you all to welcome Cassidy in the family. She’s Alexander’s girlfriend. Cassidy, these girls are my circle of friends.” She says. But then she leans closer to my ears as she whispers. “Some of them were Alexander’s exes.” "Oh!" That's all I can say. But she winks at me. I smile as I nod at her them at the rest of the girls. “Hi. Nice to meet you all.” Some are so nice and kind enough to welcome me. “So, Cassidy, how long have you been with Alexander?” Cheska suddenly asks. “We’re just new. But he was my old acquaintance. We accidentally met again recently.” “May I know the beauty products you're using? You’re beautiful, and maybe beautiful than anyone here. Oh my, no offense to the bride. You are beautiful too, Sab.” Beauty products? Yet, my thought has disrupted by Sabrina “Hahaha. That’s fine. No offense made. Actually, I understand why Alexander doesn't let her go this time. She’s a keeper. I must admit, she’s more beautiful among us.” Seriously? Are they fooling me? “What? No, I am not. That’s ridiculous. You guys are the most beautiful ladies I have ever seen.” I quickly object. “You’re so sweet. See, ladies? She’s something.” Sabrina tells them. Alexander also told me that. Am I really strange? Sabrina snakes her arm around mine. “It’s okay, doll. You’re beautiful. Don’t belittle yourself. We all are beautiful.” “Thank you, Sabrina.” “Just Sab.” “Alright. Sab.” “Are you a model, by any chance?” Cheska still asks. “No. I am not.” “An actress? A businesswoman? A flight attendant?” “Oh- Uhm, I am actually any of those. I don’t work.” “So, what are you? An heiress of a big company?” Cheska asks me again. She's annoying to be honest. Maybe she's trying to find something she can use against me. But the entire area has gotten silent. As I turn around, the answer is there. Alexander is coming towards me. “Let’s go, baby.” "Okay." Murmurs then fill the area as we go out.
