Chapter 17

Alexander POV

“Oh, God!”

Cassidy groans as she sits on the sofa while massaging her feet. And I have noticed that's her favorite expression.

We just arrived home. She was sleeping throughout the flight and ride going here. I didn't bother waking her up. I knew she's exhausted and I was also busy emailing my secretary on my laptop about a new business venture.

She’s swaying her head, trying to massage her nape. She then goes to the room, maybe changing her clothes since she heads straight into the wardrobe. I quietly follow her.

The dress really fits her. She does not know how hot she looks, wearing that dress.

Then I remember Moross. He had riled me up earlier and if it wasn’t because of our partnership, I would never let him off the hook. But then when I saw him with Cassidy in the reception hall, something was telling me he’s up to something. When Cassidy told me he was just helping her to find me, I doubted it. I just did. Given his reputations over girls, too.

Cassidy doesn’t notice my presence yet.

Wrapping my arms around her waist from behind and she squeals.

“Goodness! Just make noise if you’re closer. You creep.”

I chuckle at her choice of words. I am actually planning to make noise, but in a different way.

“Let me help to undress this.” I pull her closer, then her back touches my chest. Skimming my hands on her back. Slowly bending over, aiming her neck.

“Alexander!” She gasps.

“Let’s remove that blush on your face too, moya printsesa.”

I spin her around to face her. With no more words, I capture her lips. Lifting her up, supporting her round ass as she wraps her feet around my torso.

Shortly after, I feel her being relaxed in my arms as I keep thrusting into her.

“Guys, we will have a new server on Monday. She will replace Cassidy’s position. And as you all know, this is Cassidy’s last day here. So let’s all make this surprise memorable for her.” says Hugo.

Cassidy hasn’t arrived yet. Her boss and workmates arrived early to make sure they arrived first before Cassidy does. They just heard from their boss about Cassidy’s mom and her two jobs to support her family. Anj didn’t tell anyone about it, as per Cassidy’s request. Cassidy didn’t want them to pity her, which Anj understood, so she just kept mum about it.

“Boss, Cassidy is coming...” Mark interrupts them. He’s on the lookout, and he ran when he saw her coming out of the car.

“Alright. Guys, act normal.”

“Yes, boss.”

A few moments later, Cassidy walks inside the huddle room.

“Hey, guys. Good evening.”

“Hey, Cassie...” Anj hugs her cousin.

“Wait, am I late?” Cassidy checks her watch. She’s wondering why everyone is already inside.

“No. You’re just on time. We will about to do the huddle.” Says Hugo.

“Oh, okay.”

The discussion goes on. Hugo discusses them the usual report from last night. Cassidy doesn’t have any hint, yet.

Until Anj and all her workmates go out of the room, one by one.

“Wait, what is going on? Are we going to open now?” Cassidy asks with no one in particular and about to follow them too.

“Not yet, Cassidy. Just stay here.” Says Hugo.

“Huh? Uh, okay...” Cassidy is still confuse of what’s happening.

Then Anj walks back inside the room, holding a box. Then her other workmates also are holding paper bags.

“What’s that?”

“Ahem...” Hugo clears his throat before he lets them give their surprises.

“Ms. Lopez, you’ve been part of the family for nine months. But, throughout those months, you have given your best and helped the StarVIP to gain more profits. You’ve never been a headache with me and with your workmates. Because of that, we appreciate you a lot. And we have some parting gifts for you.”

“No way... What?” Cassidy’s stupefy reaction has doubled when she looks at her friends.

“You guys.. No. You’re kidding me. Aren’t you?”

Hugo and her workmates laugh. Then assure her they aren’t joking.

“Cassie, me and Mark bought SOS items for your protection. We all know that among us here, you’re the one who’s prone to men. You know what I mean. So we want you to use these in any case necessary. Always bring these with you. Plus, our phone numbers are here. You can call us or text us anytime. And we’ll be there for you.” says Marvin. Mark and Marvin are gay-couple.

“Thank you guys.” Says Cassidy. She’s stunned.

“And here’s my gift for you, my dear cousin. Actually, this can be used or you can just keep it in your wallet. Now that you have a boyfriend. This is important for you to prevent from getting pregnant. But I suggest to just keep this. Having a boyfriend like Mr. Montavo is worth a bun in the oven.”

Everyone laughs at Anj bluntness.

“Wait, what? Hahaha.” Cassidy can’t suppress a laugh as well.

“You’re crazy!” Says Cassidy afterwards.

And everyone laughs again.

Next couple who gave her parting gifts are Ferryl and Joseph. Then followed by Valeen, Sugar, Collins, and five more.

After a non-stop laugh because of the naughty gifts Cassidy receives, it’s now Hugo’s turn.

Everyone becomes silent while waiting for their boss’ gift too.

“And here’s mine. Well, I’m doing it on behalf of all your friends and workmates that are here. Cassidy Lopez, I am awarding you this plaque as the Most Industrious and Customer Magnet of the year. Everyone agreed on this and they testified that you’re the best person to receive this.”

“Oh, my god! I’m speechless. I... I really.. I don’t know what to say!” Cassidy got the best surprise in her life. For her, getting an award for her hard work is the best she could have.

“This is for you. Thank you for being part of the family. Don’t forget what I told you. You’re welcome to come back anytime, Cassidy.”

“Thank you so much, boss. Thank you so much guys. You just don’t know how you make this night so special. Thank you.”

After their pre-huddle, they’re back to their designated area with smile on their faces

Cassidy POV

“Cassie, here’s for the round table #8.” Joseph says after filling out the order I requested from him.

“Thanks.”

This isn’t supposedly a peak season. But the volume of customers tonight is surprisingly high. This can equal the volume of customers we get during peak seasons. And I feel so exhausted already.

It has three hours passed when my shift started and I’m so tired already. Plus, the pain I am feeling down there is making it worst.

Alexander didn’t want me to go to work. I also didn’t want to. Yet, thinking of my friends and haven’t said a proper goodbye to them made me crawl out of bed.

He’s been so gentleman. Earlier with him was never I planned. But I didn’t regret giving my VCard to him. That was out of this world feeling. I might just think that way because I haven’t experienced it from anyone.

“Hey, are you alright?” Anj asks.

I’m sitting on the corner chair. “Yeah. I am.”

“But doesn’t look like you are.”

“I’m just tired, Anj. Alexander and I had gone to his friend’s wedding earlier. I just didn’t get a proper sleep.”

I can’t tell her the exact reason. That’s too private.

“Do you want to have a break? I can fill in your shift.”

“No. It’s fine, Anj. I know you have your customers, too. Besides, my lunch will be in fifteen minutes.”

“You look sick.” says Anj who seems bother.

“I’m fine, Anj. Really, I am. Maybe an hour break could make me feel better. I’ll take a nap on my lunch.”

“Alright. In case it gets worse, just tell Hugo. Okay? And drop by in the dispensary station to get some meds.”

“I will. Thanks.”

I still received another customer before I took my lunch. After giving the orders, I log out for lunch break and head straight to the dispensary station.

“Are you okay?” Ferryl asks. She’s also on a break.

“Yes. I am. Thanks for asking.”

Leaving Ferryl outside and going to the mini sleeping quarter to take a nap.

Meanwhile...

“Guys, guys!” Mark hustles to the back area.

“What’s with the rush, Mark?” Marvin asks.

“I need help in table 10 and 11. Have you also seen Cassidy?”

“She just takes her lunch. What help do you need there?”

“We have billionaires there! And one of them is Cassidy’s boyfriend!!”

“OMG, really? Wait, let me help.” Valeen quickly gets off her seat.

“I’ll help too.” says Sugar. Then Marvin follows.

“Wait, shall we tell boss Hugo about this?”

“Yes. I think we should.”

“Okay. I’ll tell him now.” Sugar scampers to Hugo’s private office while the three of them go out.

“Cassie didn’t tell us her boyfriend will be here.”

“Maybe she doesn’t know about it too.”

Five minutes later and four of them are assisting the table 10 and 11.

Alexander has been searching for Cassidy, but he hasn’t seen her.

“Excuse me.” He calls Sugar.

“Yes, sir?”

“Have you seen-“

“Cassidy, sir?” Sugar cuts him off. She knows who he’s looking for. Nevertheless, that still surprises Alexander.

“Yes. Where is she?”

“She’s on lunch, sir. She’ll be here in less than an hour.”

“Okay.”

Alexander then dials Cassidy’s phone number, but no answer. He has no choice again but to call Hugo. Before he could dial his number, he sees him at the front bar.

“Hugo.”

“My employees are right. It’s really you. And let me guess, you’re going to ask me about my lovely employee by the name of Cassidy.” Hugo just wants to tease Alexander. And he’s right. He sees the reaction he wants to see from Alexander.

“Where is she?”

“She’s sleeping. Her cousin said she’s sick, so she might not assist you guys.”

“Bring me to her.”
