After Rudolph died, Dan froze. He received a message that he had been awarded seven hundred thousand experience points as a result of the duel. This sum outraged the young man. It was a mockery.

He had almost 700,000 experience points! How could a duelist have so little experience? That vampire was level 27!
Tom walked over to Dan and said it was important to get back to the inn. The clone poked his friend in the stomach and whispered.
"You need to talk to them. They've shown their attention to this duel. Think about the future."
"Think about the future?" Dan got angry. He hated that phrase very much. "What future? That dumb sass didn't even have a million points of experience! Tom, I don't like this place or our future in this place."
The vampire's body disappeared. The young man shook his head and returned to the establishment. He saw three respectable citizens and leisurely walked over to the table they occupied.
The elf was not interesting. The creature made too strong an impression. The overly handsome man sat down at the table and raised the palm of his right hand in a graceful gesture. A mousy servant immediately ran off to fulfill the order of the noble citizen.
One of the vampires took a bottle out of the emptiness and Dan immediately recognized the blood vessel. He was relieved. At least someone was leading a quiet life. A bloodsucker thinks only of blood.
Dan Raven felt irritated by the duel. He felt dissatisfied.
It had been an unpleasant experience. He had shown his capabilities. In the end, all he got was an experience. 723,000 experience is not bad. But nothing more! The clever vampire didn't leave a single coin in any item of his inventory. And Dan understood that there were experienced creatures who had followed him and his qualities.
The young man sat down at the table and nodded gratefully to Tom. The clone did not pretend to be invisible. The phantom took a seat at the table and asked for a portion of meat and two drinks.
"How do you like dueling with a vampire?"
Dan didn't express his sincere feeling. He answered the vampire's question honestly.
"I don't see much need for duels. As a training duel, a confrontation between two citizens is the right thing to do. Otherwise, I am in no hurry to provoke negative emotions in the citizens. The vampire Rudolph has behaved badly. Now he knows that I am capable of committing punishment."
"And you are sure of this, young warrior?"
Dan looked at the vampire who asked without a note of mockery in his quiet voice.
"My witchcraft is too strong. It has long helped me destroy my opponents," the young man smiled.
"In the former city, the oldest inhabitants of all the nations consider it a Legacy," Tom explained quietly. "You are respected inhabitants of this world. You have enough intelligence to understand this point. Every nation has a right to protect its interests in this world. Baron Raven is not looking for trouble. But with my help, we are ready to face trouble."
"You don't look like a normal clone," the elf scrutinized the phantom. He could not believe his eyes. Such a creature was undoubtedly a phenomenon of the strongest spell. This clone was intelligent and behaved like an ordinary citizen. It was strange and strained the ancient elf.
"The question of my ordinariness and unusualness we will not discuss," Tom changed the topic of conversation. "I ask for an answer to a different question. Why exactly did you three come to watch an unknowing new citizen duel? Isn't anyone interested in knowing the human strength?" Tom wanted to get to know these warriors better. Both the vampires and the elf inspired respect.
One of the vampires was not shy and acted freely. He listened to the conversation. He grinned at the elf and his new friends. In the vampire's hand, there was already a small bowl in which he poured blood from a special bottle. The vampire took another sip of blood to calm himself and nodded toward Tom.
"Your name is Tom of the Abyss. He's swordsman Dan. Don't bring up titles in this place. It annoys the citizens of other cities. Of course, your appearance has caused attention. My brother and I like dueling because we're tired of killing monsters. A few hundred years of killing primitive creatures have rendered the activity meaningless."
"Isn't there some kind of portal to the new world in this place? Can't anyone challenge the new world with new levels of difficulty?" Dan immediately heard an important point in the vampire's words. "You don't have variations on the tower of destiny?"
The ancient warriors grinned. And that chuckle did not look light or bright. Dan realized that there was a particular complexity to this question. It was interesting to him. He wanted to know the limits to existence in this world. What could he hope for?
"It pleases me to hear such words," Tom said suddenly. "It is unfortunate that we cannot act as worthy opponents to such experienced swordmasters. We are weak apprentices at the beginning of our journey. But we already understand that death is no joke. It was strange to hear a duel challenge from a vampire. Lady Koreima has a special influence on this young man. You can see her mark on him."
"Ugh! Disgusting details. A disgusting fight," the elf grimaced and wagged a finger at Dan. "Rudolph does his duty. Each of us has a strange connection to our ancestors and descendants from the other two cities of this world. He is a novice duelist."
"And he dares to defy Mother Death," Dan remarked. "I don't understand him."
"He defied the unknown," quietly objected one of the vampires. "You don't give the impression of an assassin."
Dan Raven shuddered. A few dozen hours in the gray realm cooled his brain. It was very nasty in there, and he didn't want to remember such things.
For the life of him, the young man had learned one thing. His girlfriend could behave as she pleased. But Vampiress Koreima is always right when it comes to the question of Death. You can't die. You can't mess around with this subject that, for him, has turned into hours of gray and unpleasant existence.
"Dan had an unpleasant morning. And he felt annoyed. So he allowed himself to be rude. It wasn't a duel. It was the destruction of an opponent," the clone noted immediately.
At that moment, Den Raven saw the unpleasant feeling in the ancient elf's eyes. His reaction was swift and brash. He calmly said his challenge.
"Am I making a poor impression on you? I want to challenge you to a duel. But you want to get a duel with me?"
Tom immediately tried to stop his friend.
"Dan. Stop it. It doesn't matter what he wants to get. You're not thinking about that right now."
"I'm thinking about death. And this elf, along with the vampires, is mocking death. There's only one question that concerns me. Does this elf seriously imagine himself too wise? Are these two bloodsuckers such great duelists? Is their goddess stupider than they are? Has the duel turned into a toy and is death just another visit to the Temple?"
Dan Raven stood up and acted brazenly and indecently. He lifted the goblet of drink from the table.
"I'm ready to challenge you to a duel. I am ready to splash the contents of this goblet in your face. I know you will regret it," Dan Raven raised the goblet and took a sip. He looked into the vampire's pale face and finished his provocation. "Are you willing to risk it?"
The elf interjected sharply into the conversation and his voice ceased to be condescending and self-righteous.
"You are preventing me from enjoying a pleasant morning. You can't be so bold and aggressive in your behavior. Calm down, young man."
Tom had a special bond with Dan. He didn't understand the young man. But he noticed that this conversation might get interesting.
"You haven't paid for your pleasure, elf. I am not a corrupt woman or an actor. But you didn't pay for the pleasure of contemplating my work," the clone murmured. "You two bloodsuckers should also prepare a fitting compensation."
Dan Raven nodded his head. His voice sounded cold and unpleasant.
"I have you in remembrance. I challenge you to a duel. Only death can cool your insolence. Every one of you I will kill. And you know what you will pay for it. Mother Death is sucking the juices out of your bodies. I'm not interested in compensation. I agree with you. There's no place for titles in this place. I am no baron. I am a lowly servant of a higher power."
Dan stood up and scratched his chin.
"I hope my patron has no problem with Mother Death. But you three are screwed. I'll see you in the duel."
The brazen young man walked quickly away toward the stairs and away. Tom hummed and looked at the portion of meat in front of him. Without a sharp dagger, this was hard to eat. The phantom raised his hand and clicked his fingers.
"Sniff, bring me the dagger. I don't care about your name. You look like Sniff," the clone looked at his neighbors at the table and gave an honest opinion. "I don't care about your names. You look like dead bodies. Do you realize who you've insulted?"
One of the vampires finished his glass and replied softly.
"We didn't insult anyone."
"Stupid players of a complex game. You call her Mother Death. You will surely die," said the clone. "It is a mistake to interfere in a duel. Even as spectators, you shouldn't be particularly curious."
"Funny words from a funny creature," snorted the elf.
Tom frowned and shook his head.
"Funny words from a dead creature, sharp-eared. You've seen me kill. You I will kill with particular indifference. You are unimportant. You are nothing in the eyes of Mother Death."
The table grew silent. The three high-born beings stared in amazement at this abnormal.
"No duel. No fight. There is no duel. There is only death for you. You have forgotten what dignified and humble behavior is. We owe you a reminder of that," the clone nodded his head toward the mouse. Tom took his dagger and cut a piece of meat from the large piece on his plate. He put the piece in his mouth and chewed on it. A look of amazement and enjoyment showed on the clone's face. He was very fond of the delicious foods of this world. But Tom was greedy and thrifty. He could not spend the gold on tasty foods for himself. Now he was experiencing an indescribable pleasure.
The two vampires and the elf did not want to accept this reality. Was this deranged clone threatening their lives? What did he know about matters of higher existence?
Tom chewed and swallowed a piece of meat. His voice sounded unnaturally quiet.
"The murders will be after breakfast. You are free to go now."
