Condemned By The Moon Goddess

Sabrina woke up with a killer headache later that night. The sky was tinged orange. Worry filled her at the thought of having to spend the night here if she couldn’t get home soon enough. The room she woke up in was the very same one she had confronted Asher in earlier—his bedroom. But the Alpha was nowhere to be seen. The door was locked from the outside, so she couldn’t get out. Feeling frustrated, she went over to the balcony, but it was two stories high. She could survive the fall, but she noticed two silhouettes in the garden below. She easily recognized Asher, and the woman he was speaking to must be his mate. Sabrina couldn’t make out what they were saying, but from their body language, she could tell they were arguing. Curiously, she leaned against the railing, not even a little ashamed of eavesdropping on the couple’s conversation. “I cannot believe you would do this, Asher!” the woman snapped, spitting out curses in what appeared to be Spanish. She placed a hand on her hip and glared at her mate. “Just when I thought you were opening up to me, you had to pull a stunt like this!” “Does it f*****g look like I’m happy with the situation?” Asher growled. “It can’t be helped.” “Yes, it can! Tell that b***h to get an abortion!” “It’s not that easy!” “Yes, it is. I have a doctor in town. I’ll gladly phone him right now and have him come over. Do you know the consequences of your actions? You are so damn close to matching the Lycan King in terms of power. If those bitches find out you impregnated another woman, they’ll use it against you! Against us! I’ve sacrificed way too much for you to sabotage the plan now!” Asher gritted his teeth but had nothing to say to her. An abortion? How the hell would that even work?! He’d try it if he wasn’t put off by the thought of angering the Moon Goddess further. This was meant to be a punishment—surely he couldn’t escape it so easily. “No one will find out,” he assured her. “I’ll... take her somewhere else, away from the public eye.” “Why are you so insistent on keeping this child?! Last time I brought it up, you told me you didn’t want kids!” “I don’t!” “Then why...” The Luna paused mid-sentence. She glanced up casually and noticed Sabrina peering down at them. She scoffed. “There’s the b***h now. Honestly, do whatever you can, just fix this!” She walked away, bristling with anger—not at the betrayal but at the consequences that might follow her mate’s stupid actions. Asher looked upward with cold eyes, and Sabrina ducked to avoid his gaze. She hurried back into the room and started searching for any possible escape route. Soon, the door pried open, and Asher marched into the room. He glared at Sabrina, who had just been about to knot the bedsheets together to make a rope to aid her escape. If he weren’t so pissed, he might have actually found the move hilarious. “Come here.” Sabrina dropped the bedsheets and obediently walked toward the Alpha. “We’re leaving the city,” he said. “What?! You can’t make me leave! I have a job at the hospital—I’ve only just started, and they won’t grant me any leave!” “I didn’t ask for your f*****g opinion! I don’t know how long it’ll be before this s**t starts to show, and since you’re responsible, of course you’ll come with me.” Asher swore that if this woman hadn’t been a doctor, he might have just killed her the second he found out about the pregnancy. If he had to suffer, then he’d ensure this woman went through hell with him. And that was how Sabrina found herself seated beside Asher in his luxurious transport. At the moment, she was doing her very best to hold back tears. The only good thing was that she didn’t live with her parents, so they wouldn’t notice her absence. How would she even begin to explain the situation to them? Sorry, Mom and Dad, but I had a one-night stand with a coldhearted man who got himself cursed by the Moon Goddess, and now he’s pregnant with my child. Lord have mercy. She didn’t deserve this. The six-hour drive led them to a remote town nestled between the border of Blood Moon’s territory. The car parked in front of a villa. Sabrina followed Asher into the house. It was a simple, comfortable place—much cozier than the mansion he lived in. While she thought the place was nice, the Alpha didn’t seem very happy about having to relocate so suddenly. All the work he’d done in the past few years had to be put on hold until further notice. He wasn’t even sure his mother could rule properly in his absence. Since she’d found her second-chance mate years after his father’s death, she’d been too lovestruck to focus on politics. And Bella would no doubt b***h about the whole thing to her family. Every single piece of his life was carefully crafted to perfection. Now everything seemed about to fall apart right in front of him. Honestly, how was he being cruel? He only wanted what was best for his pack. Expanding was the only way to gain more power, and by doing so, he wouldn’t feel threatened by the Lycans. Besides, he’d offered mercy to the packs he vanquished. They chose to defy him, and he did what he had to. It wasn’t his fault. If the Moon Goddess deemed his actions cruel, then she could shove her opinion up her ass. No. Instead, she’d shoved it up his ass! He was f*****g pregnant! The absurdity of it. “Here. Drink this. It will help relieve any discomfort you feel.” While Asher sprawled on the sofa, feeling miserable about his life, Sabrina, as the loving soon-to-be mother she was, had gone to the kitchen to make him some herbal tea. Who would have thought the Alpha would not only dismiss her kind gesture but actually reach for his gun to threaten her? “Get the f**k away from me.” “Look, I know we’re not friends or anything. But you brought me here—not only because I’m the mother of your child, but because I’m a doctor as well. Though I’ve never dealt with male pregnancy before, we can just swing it. Now come on, be good and drink up. Do it for the baby.” Fuck my life! Asher really wanted to end this woman. It was bad enough to live with this condition, but having this loudmouth around was a challenge on its own. He never knew what came over him that night when he approached her for s*x. Maybe it was because he hadn’t gotten laid in a long time, or maybe he liked how flustered she got while looking at him. It turned out to be the worst mistake he’d ever made. The Alpha accepted the stupid drink and gulped it down in one go. The woman watched with great satisfaction. Then, in a moment of stupidity, she reached out to touch his stomach. Asher raised his gun and pulled the trigger. A vase shattered behind Sabrina. Her legs went weak, and she collapsed to the ground in fear. Asher allowed himself a moment of satisfaction. “You... you are crazy!!” “It’s good you noticed. Now scram.” Sabrina scoffed and hurried to her feet, flashing Asher the middle finger as she walked upstairs. This man... she wanted him to go through the worst labor pains possible. It’d teach him to value human life.
