9:40 a.m.
Marty Cardenas and Justin Palmer sat in the Simmons and Winslow conference room nervously waiting to see Scott Winslow. Donna walked into the room wearing a troubled expression and sat down, holding tightly to a mug of coffee. “I'm so sorry, guys. This is all pretty shocking,” she offered, looking at the two worried faces.
“It's unbelievable,” Marty said, shaking his head. “And I know that Art did not take his own life. I'm sure of it. Something else happened here.”
Scott walked into the room and took a seat. He looked at his clients and said, “I'm so sorry, guys. I know Art was a big part of your lives.” They nodded agreement without finding words to speak. Scott studied them a moment and added, “So, it could have been an accident, right?”
