Chapter Twelve Heart pounding, Doris dashed into the barracks and changed out of her coveralls. Fortunately, she hadn’t started work on the vehicles, so there was no need to scrub grease from under her fingernails. She grabbed her purse then stopped in front of the mirror one of the gals had hung near the door. A quick inspection of her image in the glass made her frown. Her hair was drawn into a haphazard ponytail, and she’d foregone any makeup. Normally not a problem, her appearance needed to change now that Ron was going to tag along.
