I had almost forgotten that my parents were here for a reason. They had been so busy “reminiscing” around the pack that I barely saw them. It wasn’t until this morning when my father was waiting for me in the office that I remembered he was here on business. “You came up for air? What would the council think if they knew you were using this trip as a honeymoon?” I jeered with a grin.
Not being above retaliation, my father threw a book at me. A big one. “Ouch! That hurt!” I grumbled as he smirked at me. “I’ve been working, among other things.” He mumbled with a sly smile. “Yeah… sure.” I sat and put my hands up, expecting another strike on his part. I peeked at him and saw he had no ammunition. I allowed my hands to drop on my desk where I had a mountain of paperwork.
