More than two hours later, after the police questioned Oliver, Dylan and Paul the security guard, over and over again, they were finally released. Rachel swore she’d get checked out at the hospital, but her nerves were shot.
Now alone with Oliver right outside their door sent a small thrill through her that they were home and her family was safe.
Oliver opened the front door of the condo and Rachel raced passed him. Her arms ached even more. A second later she made eye contact with Oliver’s sister, Elle, who stood from their couch, holding Leo. She immediately rushed toward her with her arms opened and reached for her son. “Thank goodness. Leo.”
Oliver closed the door behind him.
