Alpha Zander's POV
I stood in my office and pondered my thoughts as I tried to devise a plan to ensure my pack was safe from any bad comebacks since the Fircone had taken away Beatrice. How could it be possible that she was mated to an alpha-blooded male? I was sure that some of the beta sisters would have been more of an option since they were a better rank and option for an alpha's luna.
My mind was blank, and I had hit a dead end when I felt the presence of someone at my door. I opened it and was surprised to see Elisha standing in the doorway, looking extremely nervous.
"What do you want?" I demanded since I had not called for her to see me.
She hung her head, and I could see something was bothering her.
"Alpha Zander, it's my sister. She is determined to go against your wishes and see Alpha Marcus. She believes that he has made a grave mistake by choosing Beatrice the Omega." She said in a small voice that suddenly irritated the hell out of me. My beta had created some very bratty offspring. If this is what my pack was destined to be led by then I was certain it would fall to pieces.
Why were these girls such whiny and annoying little creatures? Had my beta and his wife spoilt them so much that they had no shame?
The perpetual drama of the beta sisters. I sighed deeply, feeling my frustration grow with each passing moment. Why did they always have to make things so complicated?
I glared at Elisha, trying to will her into submission. "So, you're telling me that your sister wants to see Marcus despite my explicit orders not to?" My voice was low and even, but I could feel the anger simmering beneath the surface. “What makes you or Caroline think that he would want to see either of you? Did you not see how he took Beatrice and was clearly not interested in either of you two.”
Elisha nodded, her eyes avoiding mine. "Yes, Alpha Zander. She's convinced that Marcus made a mistake by choosing Beatrice, and she wants to try to...to reason with him."
I crossed my arms over my chest, my gaze never leaving Elisha's face. "I don't expect you to babysit your sister's drama, Elisha. I expect you to serve this pack and follow my orders. If your sister is going to defy me, then she's no longer welcome in our pack. That's her final warning on this matter.”
Elisha's eyes flickered up to mine, a look of desperation creeping into her expression. "But, Alpha Zander, please reconsider! My sister is willing to do whatever it takes to help Marcus see the truth—"
I cut her off with a raised hand. "ENOUGH!Enough. I've made my decision. If your sister continues to defy me, she'll be dealt with accordingly. Do I make myself clear?"
Elisha nodded hastily, her eyes darting back and forth as she scrambled to comprehend the gravity of the situation. "Y-yes, Alpha Zander. Crystal clear."
“Good, now get out of here.” I waved my hand dismissively, dismissing her from my presence. "Leave me now, Elisha. And make sure your sister understands the consequences of disobedience."I shouted as she left my office and almost collided with My Luna and her father.
"What was that all about?" My Beta asked curiously as he watched his daughter scurry off.
With frustration and annoyance, I turned to my Luna, Maggy, and my beta. "Just the beta sisters' drama, Maggy. Elisha came to tell me that her sister wants to defy my orders and see Marcus again."
Maggy's eyes widened with concern. "Oh, Alpha Zander, is that wise?"
I snorted. "Wise? Ha! These beta sisters are always causing trouble. I've decided, and their whining won't sway me."
My beta, however, looked concerned. "Alpha, maybe we should reconsider. They may be causing trouble, but they're also part of our pack. We can't just dismiss them. They are my daughters after all.
I glared at him. "Don't lecture me, Beta. I'm the Alpha. I know what's best for this pack. Just keep your daughters in check, or they will be facing me," I waved my hand dismissively, dismissing him from my presence. "Leave me now, Beta. And make sure your daughters understand what's at stake."
As the door closed behind him, I turned back to Maggy. Her eyes were still worried, but I could sense a glimmer of understanding in them. She knew that I was struggling with my own emotions, and she was trying to be patient with me.
But I didn't care about her understanding. I just wanted to be left alone, to let my anger and frustration simmer down before I made any more decisions.
And so, I sat silently for a moment, trying to calm myself down. But as I sat there, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off. Something was brewing in the shadows, waiting for its moment to strike.
And as I sat there, lost in my thoughts, I knew I had to be prepared for whatever lay ahead.
"There is a reason that Marcus chose Beatrice. " she sighed. Maggy looked at me, "Zander, you don't see it, do you? Bea was not an omega. That's the only explanation for it. " she said. I frowned and then chuckled. How could Beatrice be anything more than an omega? As I thought about it, I wondered how true it could be since we knew nothing of her parents.
"Beatrice being an omega is the only explanation I've heard so far," I admitted, trying to keep my scepticism in check. "But you're right, Maggy. We know nothing about her past or her parents. Maybe there's more to her story than we're aware of."
Maggy's eyes lit up with excitement. "That's exactly what I'm saying, Zander. Maybe something in her past makes her more than just an omega. Maybe she's got some kind of...I don't know, magic or something."
I raised an eyebrow. "Magic? Maggy, you're not serious, are you?"
She shrugged. "I'm just saying, Zander. We've never seen anything like this before. An omega mated to an alpha? It's unheard of. There has to be something special about Beatrice."
I snorted. "Magic? Come on, Maggy. This is the real world, not some fairy tale."
But as I thought about it, I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something unusual about Beatrice. Maybe it was my ignorance, but I couldn't help but wonder if there was more to her story than what met the eye.
"But what if it's not just magic?" I asked Maggy, my mind racing with possibilities. "What if it's something else entirely?"
Maggy raised an eyebrow. "Like what?"
I shrugged. "I don't know. But I think we need to consider the possibility that there's more to Beatrice than meets the eye."
Maggy nodded thoughtfully. "I agree. And I think we should talk to Marcus about it too."
The questions swirled in my head as we remained in silence, the weight of the pack's future hanging precariously in the balance. I could not believe that all this time we had not suspected a thing about Beatrice.
