"Mommy! Why do you want to go back? Why can't we stick around with our daddy?" Elijah had been pitching a fit ever since Kage spoke out in front of him. His outbursts became so unruly that we had to guide him back to the living room to settle him down by presenting him with toys. However, nothing seemed to capture his interest. He had been tossing things all over the living room and bawling on the couch.
"Mommy! I'm not upset with you like Elijah is," Imogen clung to my shirt and whispered, ensuring Elijah didn't overhear her.
"Elijah! My sweet little boy," Kage returned with a mug in his hand, the aroma of hot chocolate wafting around him. I couldn't even sit close to Elijah because of how loudly he cried upon seeing me.
"Have a sip of this and relax," Kage settled down,
