7 A dangerous game.

William stared at her. She looked a little pained as if his words hurt her. But there was no other way he could do this. The minute Gol’s eyes narrowed on her as if he could pick up the invisible connection he could feet thrumming between them, he knew he had to distance himself from her, because Gol was definitely going to hurt her to feed from him. William closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He prayed that he could keep his distance.  It was going to be hard. He could barely keep himself from shielding her from Gol’s leering eyes. God…William sighed and opened his eyes. She was still staring at him. “What?” he asked. She didn’t answer him. She dropped her hand from her chest and walked towards him. She came to a stop in front of him. William stared up at her. A tense moment past between them. And his heart almost stopped in his chest as she went to her knees in front of him. The dress she wore pooled around her knees. Her skin look so smooth up close. She leaned close, bringing her face next to his. “What are you doing?” he asked nervously. “I don’t know,” she said leaning closer. Her breath washed over his lips, and he could feel them tingle in yearning. He wanted her to kiss him. But she shouldn’t. One kiss from her, and he won’t be able to resist her. A few minutes ticked by without anyone moving. William felt his body vibrate with need. Fuck…he wanted her. His hands itched to pull her close. His wolf demanded he claim their mate right there and there. The desire was overwhelming.  He pushed to his feet and inched away from her. He walked to the mattress and sat down. “Stay away from me,” he declared. She stared at him for what felt like forever. He breathed a sigh of relief when she walked to the steps and sat down. They sat in silence, until the sound of the latch above sounded. He stood, and walked to the hole in the ceiling. The sound of the food coming down filled the silence. He lifted his hands up and the packet landed in his hands. He walked to the mattress and sat down. He opened the packet and stared at the small portion of food. There wasn’t enough for both of them. Gol was testing to see if he cared for her…if he will give her the food instead.   He was probably on his way down there to see what he’ll do. Fuck Gol… William heard the sound of the bookshelf being opened slowly. He suddenly remembered that he saved some food for her last night. He looked at the spot where he left the food, and rushed to it. He picked up the packet of food and hid it behind his back, just as the door opened. William walked to the mattress, making sure that Gol didn’t see the packet of food. He sat down on the mattress. “Is my brother here?” she asked getting to her feet. She sounded so hopeful. She looked behind him at the door as if she expected her brother to be standing there. “No. Not yet,” he said not looking at her. William discreetly dropped the food he saved last night on the mattress, and then opened the new packet of food. He started to eat. He could feel Gol’s eyes on him. William ignored him and finished the food. “Are you not going to leave some for her?” he asked in an innocent tone that grated on his nerves. William ignored him. Gol turned to her. “I hope you were not hungry, because that’s it until lunch,” he announced. He walked out the door looking disappointed. The door closed. William didn’t move until he heard the sound of the bookshelf being slammed into place. “You finished all the food?” she asked, anger making her nostrils flare. She stormed towards him. “Oh my God, are you that selfish?” she screamed at him. “No,” William leaned down and picked up the food he saved for her. “Here. Eat this.” She stared at the food not taking it. He took hold of her hand and dropped the packet in her palm. “Eat.” “You’re an asshole,” she said staring up at him. “I am glad you’re not my mate. My mate wouldn’t treat me like this.” She walked to the steps and sat down. William closed his eyes for a second. He opened his mouth to tell her the truth…to tell her that she was in more danger than she knew. Gol was dangerous. He would skin her alive just to cause him pain so that he could feed. William shook his head. It was best she didn’t know. If she resented him, Gol would believe that she was nothing to him. He just had to hold on until her brother came for her. William decided. He walked to the bathroom and gave himself a sponge bath. He couldn’t get into the shower with the chains, or take off his clothes for that matter. He needed Gol for that. But he doubted he will come down again after he didn’t get what he wanted. He didn’t get to feed today. William didn’t know if it was because of the woman being there. He hasn’t taunted him about his parents or brother. He was interested more in the woman, and what she could possibly mean to him William hoped he never found out that she was his mate.  He was not used to having the light on. Everything looked different in the bathroom. He finished his sponge bath and stood in front of the mirror. He stared at himself, wishing he could cut the long beard and hair. He wanted her to see his face. Even though nothing will happen between them. It would be nice if she remembered him. And maybe one day when he was free, he would… William shook his head before the thought took shape in his mind, because Gol will never let him go. And he couldn’t kill him either. Not if he wanted to die from the spell he placed on him. He didn’t have a future…not with her or anyone else. His heart ached his chest, because for the first time in a long time he wanted future so bad. …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. They couldn’t find her anywhere. His men have looked, and turned the Green River pack houses upside down. She was still not there. Where the f**k did he hide her? Reagan asked himself as he stood outside the main pack house. Jeremiah was probably laughing in that human lab, because he sure screwed him. He didn’t see this coming. Reagan didn’t think that Jeremiah was capable of a move like that…. hiding his sister from him. That was a massive f**k you and he was feeling it. No one has ever done that to him. Reagan smiled to himself. And then started to laugh maniacally.    His man took a couple of steps away from him to give him some room. They knew how dangerous he was when he was like this. And he really wanted to murder something. Preferably that fool Jeremiah…
