Nia's Judgment

1444 Words

Nia’s mind was quiet. Too quiet. She felt her entire being retreat to that very same dark place she was forced to go to when she was abused here, and now that place in her mind was telling her things. As she was being dragged in front of the entire pack, only one word formed in her mind. Destroy. She had not known where the thought came from. She only knew the oppression she had suffered at the hands of these people. She knew the damage they had inflicted on her psyche. Not just her parents, or by Carter. Her entire pack was at fault. Those who watched and laughed at her beatings. Those who joined in for the sheer pleasure of it. Those who saw her starving on some days did not extend her a hand of kindness. The only kindness she ever received was at the palace. From her mate. From Jewel.
