Cathy unlocked her front door and dropped her bag on the floor. She had worked her regular 8 hour shift at the bookstore and then worked another 5 hours that night at the local bar and grill waiting tables. She was saving as much money as she could, but it was exhausting. She was getting familiar with most of the regulars at both businesses but still hasn’t made any real friends yet. They only people she talked to were Sam, Lauren, John and Mary. When Mark and Jessica were in town she spent time with them too. Her neighbor stopped by occasionally but it was more like she wanted to be nosy and bossy instead of being friends. Cathy sighed as she turned on the shower and waited for the water to get hot.
