Chapter 11When Sébastien woke, Hallbjörn was already out of bed and the room was put back to normal. On seeing Sébastien awake, Hallbjörn brought him a tray of bread and cheese, with a goblet of watered wine to wash it down. But first, he claimed Sébastien’s lips in a possessive kiss.
“We need to get out on the streets. We have a few contacts in the city.” Hallbjörn perched on the bed. “Nereus feels that our enemy’s hiding place is beneath the city, in the old mines. We need to start searching for it, then find and destroy it.”
“I’m ready whenever you are.” Sébastien chased a mouthful of bread and cheese down with a swallow of the wine. But before he could push the rest of the food aside, Hallbjörn held up his hand.
