CHAPTER 11As Belinda Shaw sat in the syndicate leaders' staff meeting, she gazed out at the warm September spring weather and thought back over the year. She had been an assistant principal in charge of Tern Syndicate from when the school opened and like many of the others, she guessed, had been quite apprehensive after Owen Fessey had announced his retirement. There were different reasons, of course but her own fears were that Michael White would get an internal promotion or that an even worse scenario, was that Peter Niles from Westview Intermediate would win the position.
