We officially accepted each other in front of all our friends and family, and I felt totally intoxicated with happiness. I knew that I had done the right thing. I didn’t understand why or how, but it was the right thing. When we crawled into bed, it also felt right to be there. After officially accepting him, it was as though all my reservations from before and all my doubts were wiped away, and we were starting on a clean slate.
