Streaks of gold submerged from around me with crystalline water shimmering like jaded diamonds, the pure waves crashed against my body and warmed my flesh as my feet waddled further into the descending shore. The sun shone radiantly as the rays adorned my flesh and dyed my eyes a captivating golden, my voice sang through the gentle breeze with ancient words dripping from my tongue. A masculine figure towered over me with his back blocking the burning star, his chest pressed against my cheek as he wrapped me into his warm embrace.
This feels safe, I thought with a mesmerizing smile.
His similarly golden eyes captivated my attention as he drunk in my appearance with an indescribable hunger woven within his gaze. The beast tilted my head towards him and smirked as my lips trembled expectantly, he was a man I was destined to, who I would give the world for and crumble those who stole him from me. He leaned forward and brushed his lips against mine with a whisper of warmth as he teased the sensation through me, I wanted more, and he knew it.
Who is he? I wondered as I tore my attention away from the attractive man and glanced at my reflection in the ocean.
The woman who stared back was curvy in nature, with waist-long golden hair that wove in loose ringlets as it hung in a damp mess over her shoulders. The man’s hands rested on her thin waist and protectively held her to him, she was an exotic beauty who captivated those from around her with full pursed lips and a small, angled nose. Her flesh was adorned with luminescent markings that were only visible once her body absorbed enough light, the unique markings trailed down her arms and meshed at her stomach before lacing down her calves where they merged with the ground.
Is this heaven? I thought as I touched my unfamiliar face.
Heaven was a word bound by the humans and yet the thought captivated my attention as the scenery before me seemed too pure and lifelike, the body of the woman I inhabited seemed like a fairy blessed by the gods of beauty. My breath quivered as the man pulled me closer to him, his body felt familiar with ancient scars pressing into my hands as my palm traced his abs and rested on his broad shoulders. He tilted his head against the crook of my neck and kissed the mate mark that inevitably belonged to him, I was bound to him by fate and yet I didn’t know his name.
Who is he? I absentmindedly wondered as I glanced at the golden-haired god.
“Only look at me, Mouse,” he said as he brushed his lips against my cheek.
This world was but a dream, a figment of my imagination while I say burning within the cured lands of Gliese and yet his words felt real, his touch absorbed my attention as I began to lose myself in his embrace. His protective demeanour warmed me to my core as I pressed my hand to my chest and reached into my soul and pulled out the crystalline heart that formed my being. My heart pulled in my hand as he enclosed his hand around mine and planted an affectionate kiss on my forehead and pushed my heart back into my chest.
“You already belong to me,” he affirmed in a hushed tone.
I pressed my feet into the soft sand and stood up on my tippy toes until I met his gaze, I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him into me until our bodies merged into one. His breath was hot and ragged as he gave in and placed his lips on mine, he drew me in with the taste of honey spreading from his tongue and down my throat. It was sweet and suffocating as I steadily became his and yet the air became stagnant as static filled my ears. The image before me was beginning to fade as the man before me crumbled into golden dust and floated away in the ocean.
The waves grew rash as they raged from around me, the sun faded from view with twin moons beating down on my ivory skin. The face that glanced back at me was now my own with my crystalline cerulean eyes watering from the despair that swelled within me. The loneliness that filled me slowly returned as the ghost of the man who held the purest love towards me faded like an empty memory. My golden hair faded into an emotionless silver as the ends floated from around me and reached towards a sign of existence.
I collapsed to my knees as I struggled to embrace the feeling of being loved and held by the golden-haired man, his eyes burned in my memory as the golden irises resembled the sun itself, his voice was gentle as it swayed over me and relaxed the raging from within my soul. He was but a figment of my fleeting imagination, a hallucination while I lay dying in the banks of the eternal landscape. My crystalline heart remained unbound and devoid as it yearned for the man who claimed to love me with a single glance into my soul.
I should have had a life like that, I thought bitterly as I grasped the smooth sand from under me.
The muddied grains trickled down my wrists and rejoined the violent waves from around me as I collapsed and fell backwards, allowing the water to flood over me and wash away my sorrows. I closed my eyes and cancelled out the vibrancy of the twin moons and accepted my fate as the ocean flooded my lungs and drowned me in the shallow beach. Silver strands surrounded me in a hypnotic daze as I stretched my arms out and allowed the current to carry me away only for a warmth to spread throughout my limbs as I was thrust forward into reality.
No! I wanted to cry out as the world faded from view only to be replaced by aching pain.
