"She went to the pack hospital in the back." Bryson hurriedly replied to Kent's question.
"Good," Kent hummed. "The Maddox, Dale and Francis families are coming here. Bring them to the pack hospital."
"Yes sir," Bryson answered before wiping the sweat off his brow. Kent didn't linger any longer and jogged to the car and got in.
He started the car and drove it close as possible to the back entrance. Turning off the engine once again, he sent a mind link to the pack members in and around the pack house and hospital.
'Anyone near the back entrance of the pack house, make yourself disappear within a minute anyone lingering in the pack hospital, leave now!' Kent ordered, his orders greatly confused the pack members going about their day.
But as alpha commands stands, they moved to his orders almost immediately. Even Bryson heard the order as he was standing at the entrance of the pack house, glanced to the side of the house. Although he wasn't near the car earlier, he did see the girl covered with a blanket sitting in front.
But what could honestly be the meaning of such treatment? Unless the alpha had a secret to hide, but thinking about the mess over at the high school, and the luna bringing an unconscious Alaric back, Bryson chose to stop guessing.
Naturally, what he's meant to know of, he'll come to know in due timing. Kent made sure the coast was clear before muttering a follow me to Maya.
He hurriedly rushed to the pack house with Maya hot on his heels. She wasn't stupid, this baby, it had to die. But just thinking of killing the pup made her wolf and herself sorrowful.
Yet, her wolf understood if nothing was done then what of their mate? What was more important to the wolf? A bastard pup or her long awaited soul mate? Of course, it would choose its mate.
Under Kent's lead and aura, Maya was escort straight to the head pack doctor's office. Lily was already there talking to the head doctor seriously while sitting when Kent opened the door and escorted Maya in.
Seeing her mate enter, Lily scoffed and turned her head. The head doctor had a different reaction and politely stood up to greet her alpha. The head doctor was old in age, almost sixty.
Even though she was nearing her golden years, her hair was still dark brown and her body fit as a fiddle. Kent relaxed as the elder greeted him and looked towards his mate. He hesitated to take back his aura that was covering Maya.
Knowing his mate, she might really attempt to strangle him for keeping this from her. But he wasn't sure of the situation back in the parking lot when she was there.
"What brings you here and those strange instructions from earlier?" The head doctor noticed his hesitance and spoke up. Looking at Kent firmly, Kent sighed, noticing the older woman's gaze.
"Lily, before I say anything, please understand I was in the dark, much as you." Kent could only bite his inner cheek and say to his mate before turning to the older woman.
"Aunt Nailiah, we have a serious problem" Kent said solemnly to Nailiah. "One my i***t son and this i***t girl beside me created."
Nailiah and Lily frowned in confusion at his words, but his seriousness made the two women fear the worst. Kent didn't say anything more, and only took back his aura. Maya's scent mixed with the scent of pregnancy, and Alaric's scent flooded the room.
"Oh my goddess!" Nailiah took two shaking steps backwards and exclaimed. Kent didn't say much, but the old woman read between the lines rather quickly.
"This girl, is she Alaric's mate?" Lily asked Kent, surprisingly she was calm. Kent looked towards his mate and shook his head no.
Even though her face didn't change from its deadpan expression, Kent could see her hand trembling in her lap.
"You didn't know?" Lily asked, again, with so much calmness to the point it made Kent incredibly nervous.
"Renee Dale mind linked Jason and told him that, but I didn't believe it. I didn't think Alaric would be so...." Kent scratched the top of his head absent-mindedly.
"I see, I too wouldn't believe him to be so recklessly stupid." Lily mumbled. The office was plunge into silence after she said that.
"What now?" Kent, Lily and Nailiah all turned to Maya, who broke the silence. "Are we going to kill it or not."
Kent pursed his lips, hearing Maya say that made his wolf want to lash out. Lily outright snarled, and Nailiah pinched the bridge of her nose.
"This matter, it's not one we can deal with, Kent." Nailiah told the alpha. "I know you're fighting your wolf back."
"Then what? Want me to call that filthy council to govern this? You know those bastards are set in their ways." Kent snarled at Nailiah. Completely enraged by the thought of those enforcers stepping foot into his pack and forcing their ways on them. " Some alphas might want to stick their noses up those asses, but not me."
"Then tell me, how the f**k am I supposed to kill this child nephew? I'm ninety percent sure if I make a move. You two might chew me to death. That child is one your wolves recognize. It's already part of the pack and your grand pup." Nailiah explained in frustration.
"No, I can reign in my wolf." Kent gritted his teeth and said.
"So can I." Lily firmly echoed.
"This child either dies today, or we run the risk of really getting the council involved." Kent said before continuing. "It will stop their mates from trying to kill them."
"This turning out to be one f*****g s**t show." Nailiah rubbed her aching forehead and mumbled. "Okay, get her into the adjoining room. I'll administer a shot. She's about three months along, give or take. I should be able to kill it without cutting her open."
Hearing that, Maya already moved to the door to the adjoining room. But the door swung open before she could turn the knob, and there stood a red eyed Alaric.
"What do you think you are doing?" Alaric's voice came out deep animalistic, his eyes were pitch black and iris yellow. They immediately knew that Alaric's wolf had taken over.
"Shit." Nailiah cursed and crouched down, immediately shedding her white lab coat while keeping her eyes trained on Alaric, who's murderous gaze was trained on her from the beginning.
It didn't take a fool to realize the wolf heard everything said between the three of them. Kent frowned and cast a quick glance at his mate, whose face was colorless.
Lily brought him her to lessen the effects of the sedatives, Of course Kent cursed at himself, annoyed he was solely focused on the Maya problem he forgot the Alaric problem.
"What are you planning to do with my pup!" Alaric's wolf snarled, his aura burst and swirled around himself, growing stronger as the seconds tick by. Maya who was right in front of Alaric let out a sharp breath and immediately step backwards and rush towards Kent as Alaric charge towards Nailiah.
"Devin! Stop!" Kent rushed forward as he called out to his son's wolf, side stepping Maya, who was running in his direction.
'I'm getting too old for this s**t!' Nailiah thought to herself as she dodged Alaric's attack.
