Episode 12

"How did you do that?" I asked Adrian as we got down from the bus.

" I...I...I don't know, I...just um, it just happened" He stuttered shyly.

"Oh wow...that was so cool" I said and he blushed, that made me laugh.

"Goodnight" I bade after getting to the front of my house.

"Yeah I...yeah...sure, good night" He said incoherently and was about heading home when I called him back.

"Adrian?" I called and he looked back but met I met him with a kiss, his mind was blank at first, then slowly I slowly to get them.

'I was awaiting that' I laughed to his lips on that.

"What?" He asked on letting him go.

"Nothing" I said as I ran inside totally flushed.

That was the last time Adrian showed weakness, ever since then he completely had his phobia under control and that was a little bit tiring, he started taking us in class making him more popular, started getting along with people, started getting social, it was becoming a burden for me, cause I haven't talked to him about my ability yet.

"Hey" Adrian called as he walked up to me while picking stuffs from my locker.

he had headset around his head and a new stylish haircut, he had changed but I still love him, we had started dating a day after the fight..officially.

"Hey" I answered after turning to face him.

"You're watching the basketball game aren't you? Ashley want us to be there" he asked, hands on the nearest of locker.

"I...I...I don't know" I said not wanting to say no.

"Come on baby...we have to be there, okay?" He beseeched and I nodded, then he took my neck slowly pulling me to his mouth and gave a sharp kiss.

"Get a room Adrian" Philly said passing cautioned.

"See you there" Adrian said following Philly out, he had made some friends the past few weeks Philly, Greg, Brian and Tyler, they have been really good friends to him, and they are of pure intentions, I learn to accept them and roll along, but the problem is just. They have been teaching Adrian to be too social, even asking him to attend parties, it has been really tiring.

"Hey" Hanna called... Well we've started getting along after soothing her when I caught her crying in the toilet, she was lonely, due to her bad attitude she lost her friends but the bad thing is, my real enemy wasn't Hanna anymore, it was Sandra.

"Hey...hi" I greeted bacn as we started walking towards the door.

"Have you seen the your test result?" she asked

"No" I replied casually.

"So what's your grade? I asked I knew she wouldn't wanna talk, but she didn't have to, I can always know the truth.

"Let me guess...C"I said and her face broadened in amazement.

"What!? How did you know?" She asked surprise written all over her face.

"Lucky guess" I said winking at her then Kate came with my test sheet, she has been trying to be a good friend too despite the fear she had.

"Um...you weren't in class when this was given out" she said handing it to me after we arrived in class.

"Wow...85! " Hanna exclaimed but I only smiled, then Bob came along and handed me Adrian's sheet.

"That was expected" Hanna said looking into Adrian's sheet..

"A+....99" she shouted just in time as Adrian entered into the class.

"What ya peeping at?" He asked as he walked up to us.

"ooh! "he pouted on looking, he wasn't surprised a bit...because he was a straight A student, we've gotten some sheets and his grades have been really good,

"I'm proud of you baby" I cooed and hugged him.

"you'll always be love...so what's your plans for the weekend?" He asked after I had released him to face me.

"Helping momma" I replied freeing him completely and I know he doesn't like the sound of that.

"Does that have to happen every weekend?" he sounded like he was about to complain or he already started.

"Yeah...you know...that's when I get to spend some time with her" I said my arms around his neck.

"Come on babe...you know what, Tyler's having a birthday party tomorrow, and he wants us to be there" He informed brows arched as he waited for my response.

"Babe...you know I hate parties" I purred, hoping he'll let me off, but he wasn't giving up so easily.

"Babe...come on this is Tyler we're talking about, he's gonna kill me if I aren't there... If you aren't there" he said trying to sound very convincing.

"I don't know Adrian" I said leaving him and walking outside.

"Hey...." he called holding me back..

"Tyler want you to be there... Everyone's invited" He said giving me a puppy expression that made me groan, it's hard to say no to him with that face.

"Yeah...I'm invited too" Hanna said

"So am I" Kate added.

"Okay fine.... I'll try" I said not certain but Adrian give me a kinda look telling me he want certainty

"Okay fine.... I'll be there" I said and Adrian carry me up whirl me round totally glad he made me say yes.

"Put me down Adrian" I squealed voice indistinct as a result of me giggling.

"Come on Adrian...put me down" I said anxiously and clearly making sure he does.

Later we headed to the basketball game, during the whole thing I was with my headset, though Adrian thinks there wasn't any music playing that I only had it on...because I cheer whenever Ashley got a point, and I was okay by the end of the game.

"You did awesome Ashley" I said immediately she came out from the court.

"Thanks Nat...I really appreciate it" she replied and I winked.

"Hey darling" Mrs Smith called as she joined us.

"You were amazing" Mrs Smith remarked with a proud smile.

"Thanks mom" she replied happily, well that's how the day went but my mind wasn't filled with that, it was Adrian's birthday which was just two days away and Tyler's birthday which was on my mind.

"Mom...I don't know what to do" I complained after explaining Adrian's wish to her while helping her in the kitchen.

"Well...the choice is yours sweetie. If you know you can hold it in without exploding, then you should go, but if you can't control it, I don't want you hurting yourself... Okay?" She responded plainly still concentrated on the beef she was rinsing.

"Yes mom"I said till in doubt what to do, then the door bell rang...I left the kitchen to open the door but before I did... My mom had it opened since she left the kitchen right before the door bell rang, it was Adrian.

" Adrian! It's so nice to see you" My mom smiled giving Adrian a pleasant hug.

"it's nice to see you too Mrs Howard" he replied with his charming smile that got me blushing.

"Come on in" My mom smiled gesturing him inside.

"I'm glad you're here, dinner's almost ready" my mom said returning back to the kitchen, then I grabbed his hand and pulled him along into my room.

"What are you doing here?" I asked with a curious glance and he raised up a shopping bag.

"What's that? I asked extremely curious,

"Well... I was thinking you might need something to wear to tomorrow's party" he replied shyly, I was bewildered and dumbfounded.... I collected it to take out a yellow knee-length gown, with black tapings, black embroidery and fabric flowers designed the front.

"it's... It's...um, beautiful" I said and he blushed, and inside lies black heels with gold tapings, it was looking so...lovely, I hugged him tight and he laughed.

"I just wanted to get you something.... I picked it since we both love yellow" he replied scratching the back of his head shyly and I kissed him, at first I met a blank wall, until he was lost, then I sink into his mind, I saw how he had helped Ashley with her home chores to take her shopping with him.

Ashley had chosen the dress because he had never bought a girl something and he doesn't have any idea how, but then I saw something else, it was his innermost thoughts that brought that memory, he was thinking of Sandra, I could make out a vague image of how Sandra had kissed him during swimming training in the swimming locker room , I gasped, letting him go, I was so furious and controlling it, wasn't easy, I was gasping for breath, and I slipped out of his arms slowly with an anger visible in my expression.

"What ? Are you alright? He asked confused at my sudden change of mood, I wanted so much to hide it but I couldn't

"You kissed Sandra?" I asked and that surprised him a little.

"What!?" He asked surprised and confused at the same time.

"I wanna know why on earth you kissed Sandra?" I asked trying hard not to yell at him.

"What...what....what are you talking about" He stuttered out in confusion.

"Don't play dumb Adrian, I saw it" I said tears welling up my eyes.

"Oh come on Natalie...what is it?" He asked already frustrated, then I relaxed remembering he knew nothing of my ability yet.

" I...I...who is Sandra to you?" I asked calmly and he sighed looking straight into my eyes.

"I've been looking for the perfect time to tell you...well...Sandra's my ex-girlfriend" he replied despondently, watching my expression closely..

"what!? Goodness" I exclaimed in disbelief.

"I didn't know how to tell you" he defended hoping I wouldn't get mad...but I was already mad, how could he not tell me?

"You've had a girlfriend" I asked raising my voice in utter shock!

"Yeah...w didn't date long, she freaked out when she found out about my...phobia, then she broke up with me, but then, she realised it was wrong, she tried to come back into my life but that was when my mom submitted my transfer letter, but she wanted to prove herself to me, so she got transferred too, but I was not willing to accept her again, because she hurts me so much, you have got to believe me Natalie, I have nothing to do with her anymore" he explained and I believed him because I could sense the sincerity in his voice.

"Why did you kiss her...swimming?" I asked trying to make him recall.

" I... I didn't, she did, I swear she forced it on me," He responded scared nervous as hell.

"Why didn't you push her away?" I retorted and he went numb for a brief seconds.

"I did" he lied eyes dangling in fear and regret,

"No you didn't" I said now upset, why would he lie?

"but...how did you...how did you know? He asked suddenly suspicious.

"Answer me Adrian...why?" I asked and he just stood dumbfounded and guilty.

"I'll just get the answer myself" I muttered kissing him, I know he wouldn't let his guard down so easily, not after the conversation we just had, but not for long, soon he was distracted, because of my anger I found myself sinking into his memory until I found what I was looking for.

He had let Sandra have her way with him without kissing or hugging her back.

"Are you done? He had asked.

"Why won't you kiss me back?" Sandra asked looking so pathetic.

"Because you don't deserve it, I have a girlfriend now Sandra, and it's been over between us for long, you can't just have your way this time, I love Natalie, so Sandra stay away from me" He had said peck her and left, then I released him.

"What the hell was that?" He asked confused as his breathing hitched.

"What!?" I asked hoping I hadn't hurt him with what I had done.

"Well...it's like, that scene was been replayed in my head....what! Did you just get into my mind? He asked with uncertainty but I couldn't talk, I could only stare.
