The duke left the warden’s home with the doctor.  The warden was now resting comfortably in his bed.  His senses had returned enough for him to scold and nag at his wife.  “This is the most curious thing. Six men having epileptic fits in one day. Four of those men also had the boils.  All of them worked in the dungeons.  And now,” the doctor closed his bag, “One has died.”  The duke had to stretch his long legs to keep up with the older man as they turned back out onto the street.  “The seizures killed him?”  “Not exactly,” Alan shoved his spectacles up his beak-like nose. “Reginald drowned in his own vomit.”  Liam cringed. “But you say no one outside of the prison has been affected?”  “Not to my knowledge.”  The duke thought of his housekeeper, but did not mention it.  He would chec
