Chapter ll- The Dreams

1213 Words
It's been a week since I went to the cemetery. It's not that I didn't want to go there again, I obviously wanted to, it had me curious, but unfortunately, my instincts weren't working and I had no idea where the cemetery was. All through this week I have been working for the company and made quite a few friends. This is what I do during the day, but at night, it's a completely different scenario. Dreams. The same dream each and every time. I always find myself in the cemetery and by the time I reach the big tombstone to remove the weeds, I wake up. It has been the same dream for a whole week now. And these dreams weren't the only weird thing happening to me. I had vision-like scenarios flashing in front of my eyes. I have no idea what it was, only that it was a man with baby blue eyes. A dark rim covers the iris. The rest of his face was hazy. I was getting ready for my day, when Lisa came running into my room, out of breath. "We are going to meet the Ramsons. Today after the conference with the board members." "And that is exciting because.....?" I asked back. "Baby sis, are you even there on social media? If you were, then you would know Angelo Ramson, CEO of Ramson Chain of Hotels and Restaurants. His father, Gonzalo Ramson, had just retired, handing over the business to his eldest son. But that is not the point over here. The point is that Angelo Ramson is the most eligible bachelor, according to The New York Times. And he's coming here and....", she kept going on and on. I don't know when I zoned her out, but the reason for me to zone out was the same, those blue eyes. An hour later... I was on my way to the bus stop when I had those instincts again, and within minutes I was in that same cemetery again. It was exactly the same. Without thinking much, I went towards the biggest tombstone. I couldn't put a finger on it, but there was something about this tombstone that brought me closer. This place, as eerie as it sounds, felt safe and gave me a sense of comfort. I sat down on the ground and started removing the weeds from the tombstone. I had a feeling that this particular place had something to do with the blue-eyed man...and finally, I would see who was buried inside this tombstone. Hades Alexander Athanasios . . . "Nyx are you ready?" my best friend Adelina asked for the hundredth time. As much as I love her, this constant pushing was not something I liked. Although in her defense, it wasn't every day the supernatural king came to our coven. "Yes, now I'm ready". Giving the last twirl in front of the mirror and sweeping my hair back, we went out to stand with our families. Adelina went out in the front as her father was the coven leader. I stood just beside her since my parents were dead. It was her mother who found me in the woods when I was a baby and, being the kindest woman I have ever known, she took me in instantly. "Where are they?" I asked her. "I don't know, they were supposed to be here by now. Seems like the king of supernaturals is not so punctual, just like you Nyx." By saying so, we both burst out laughing. Dad shushed us both. Without any comebacks, we both shut our mouths, after all the King's name and reputation preceded him. The most ruthless king the supernaturals have ever seen. He is arrogant, cruel, and vicious. He kills without remorse and for the smallest mistake. That is also why he was here. Apparently, someone leaked to him that there was a human living in this coven. At first, he had ordered to kill the human, but after great persuasion from dad, he decided to come and take a look and then decide. Some say that he is like that because he hasn't yet found his chosen one and has given up all hope. I do feel sorry for him at times, because living for some seven hundred years without your mate is kind of sad. Your chosen one is someone who is destined for you. Mostly werewolves have one, vampires are rarely known to have one as they live for so many years. Witches do not have chosen ones, but sometimes they are destined to be a vampire's or werewolf's chosen ones. Our king was a hybrid, half-vampire and half-werewolf, hence he would have a chosen one. I know how he feels, as I would never have one either. Like the others, I wasn't supernatural. I was a mere human. More reason for me to be under the radar and not get killed. I was snapped back to reality when Adelina elbowed me. I looked up at her and saw that she was motioning me towards the entrance. The royal carriage was there. I was awestruck. The first thing that caught my eyes was the horses carrying the carriages. I was about to take in more of the horses when my eyes met his. It was a highly punishable offense to look straight into the king's eyes, so I quickly looked down, but I couldn't shake those eyes. Without further talking or discussion, "The human girl is coming with me to my palace", murmuring started among my coven members. To say I was terrified would be an understatement. And to add a cherry on top, Adelina rushed in front of me, "You cannot take her". For the love of God, what is wrong with her, going against the king? He let out an inhuman growl. Adelina quickly owed her head and pleaded, "My apologies, Your Majesty, but I request you not to take my sister" all this while my head was bowed down, silently telling her to step back in my mind and gripping her arm tightly. Without any further comment, his carriage started moving back, but not before his loud voice echoed out loud, "The girl can come too." . . . My eyes snapped open. I quickly scanned my surroundings. I was still in the cemetery. I looked around once again. Everything was the same. I checked the time and realized that it hadn't even been five minutes. I got up from the ground and dusted my trousers. This time I made sure to check my surroundings so that I could come back here again. Although on my way to the office I couldn't shake this feeling that I was missing something, like a major part of my life. Still, vampires, witches, and werewolves. Like that was believable. The girl I saw in this vision looked exactly like me. The girl staring back at me in the mirror had the exact same hazel green eyes, the same plush lips, and every single other feature was the same. She even had the same name as mine. But it was as if it had already happened. Yet somewhere at the back of my head, a little voice told me that the girl was me.
