Chapter III- Meeting Him

1731 Words
"Nyx, you alright?" Adelina asked from the cell beside me. We could not see each other, but could very well hear each other. Both of us have been here for a week. They give us a meal once a day and then lock us back again. I feel bad for Adelina, she has to suffer all this just for me. She is the strongest witch in our coven. She could very easily escape, but I couldn't. And that is the only reason why she still hasn't escaped. "Yes, I'm fine. You?" I asked her back. "A bit smelly, otherwise fine" She replied back. Before we knew it, the metal doors creaked open. I winced and shut my eyes from the bright lights in the halls outside those cells. A royal servant stepped in. "Your Majesty has asked for your presence in the courtroom during dinner. You and your friend will be escorted out to a room to get ready." Even minutes after he left, there was utter silence. Adelina broke the silence, "Why would the Royal Highness ask for our presence?" Two Hours Later "Both of us were escorted to a big chamber. It had a dome-shaped high ceiling with a beautiful glass chandelier hanging. It had a big four-poster queen bed with curtains hanging around from all four sides. The room has been painted a shade of blossom pink, and the big balcony with its own couch. Overall, the room looked exquisite. We were ushered towards the washroom, which was even more majestic. There was a big bath in the center of the washroom filled with bubbles and rose petals, surrounded by scented candles. The whole washroom was filled with steam. We were treated like royalty by the royal maids and we had no idea why. After the bath, we were ushered inside the chamber where our garments were laid down by the maids. Beautifully embroidered corsets, crinolines as well as those gowns. Adelina's gown was a beautiful shade of lilac, covered in lace flowers, while mine was a shade of dusk, with lacy sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. While her gown went in a single flow, mine had two layers to it. We were given beautiful gloves and leather boots to complete our looks. . . . I winced my eyes shut and mentally cursed whoever opened my windows. Slowly opening my eyes, I realized it was my sister. "Rise and shine sweetheart" she cooed, turning towards me. Not paying much heed to her, I put the covers over my head, only to be snatched away from me. "LISA!!!" I snapped at her, "It's early morning, seven-thirty to be exact. Why are you waking me up now?" I asked her after calming down a little. Not a morning person at all. "Angelo is coming here to our house for breakfast." She said, all giddy. I searched my brain thoroughly to come up with an answer as to who this Angelo person was. All I came up with was those beautiful, mesmerizing blue eyes. Not exactly blue, but steel blue. I googled. I tried to forget those but these visions would not let me. They are becoming more frequent. Although I can't see his whole face, his eyes. The rest of his features were blurred in my vision. "Percyyy?" Lisa whined, snapping me out of my thoughts. "What is it, Lisa? And how many times do I tell you, Never wake me up for some man, never. They are just not worth my morning sleep" After much persuasion, she left my room, murmuring something about that same Angelo. I parked my car near the bus stand to go to the cemetery. I have been going there for quite a few weeks. It's peaceful, in a very strange way. Thank God I left home a bit early, not having to meet that Angelo. I laid my shawl on the stone and sat down, tilting back a bit, resting my back on the gravestone. "Hades" I like the way the name rolled off my tongue, it sent shivers down my back. In a very good way. I imagined his voice calling out my name. Persephone. I was sure that the supernatural king from my visions and the blue-eyed guy was Hades. His voice calling out my name sent more shivers down my body. Maybe I'm being too much of a pervert. . . . The table was laid with rich laden food. Some of them, we didn't even know then. A clearing of the throat brought us both out of our daze. Looking forward, we saw a bunch of people staring at us. Some with amusement, while some with shock. There were seven people, to be exact. Two women and five men. Although I'm pretty sure they are all hundreds of years old. They were all dressed elegantly. They were in fact so beautiful that I was awestruck. The surroundings suited them. The walls were a shade of indicolite, with a huge dome-like structure with a beautiful glass chandelier. The furniture was either glass or spotless white. One could even see their faces on the furniture. We both greeted them and very quietly sat down. The thing that immediately caught my eye was their eyes. Beautiful people with beautiful eyes. One of the women had long black hair with red eyes. She was definitely just turned a few decades back. She was a Greek goddess. Her sharp features did no mercy on others. She had a powerful aura around her like she was not someone to be messed with. The other girl was her complete opposite. Although she had a powerful aura like the former, her features were quite soft, giving her a friendly and kind look. She had beautiful grey eyes. Beside her sat a man with brown hair and black eyes, and on her other side sat a guy with those same grey eyes as hers. Opposite me, besides the black-haired girl sat a brunette guy, equally handsome as the others, with deep blue eyes. Before I could check out the others, the black-haired girl flashed a warm smile at me and introduced herself. "Hello, I'm Agnes, and this is my chosen one here, Oscar", she pointed to the grey-eyed guy. Next, the black-eyed man introduced himself as Konstantin, Kon for short, while introducing the girl next to her as his chosen one, Astrid. One by one, they all introduced themselves. By the time we were finished with our food, I had learned a lot about the royal family. For one, Oscar and Astrid are twins and siblings of the supernatural king. Oscar found his chosen one, Agnes, two decades back, while Astrid and Kon had been together for nearly five centuries. Agnes does not talk much. The brunette guy, opposite me was Ryker Cirillo, who was third in command, with his chosen one a green-eyed blonde, Czar. The last one had an irritated look on his face, sometimes stealing glances at Adelina. Agnes introduced him as Solomon, second in command and Ryker's brother. Dinner wasn't eventful, but I learned a lot. These people were not bad. Maybe it would not be that bad living here. . . . I opened my eyes, only to realize that I had fallen asleep again. I have been falling asleep a lot these few days, always being tired. I checked the time only to realize there was a cut on my index finger. Weird. I quickly headed towards my office. . . . It has been a month since that dinner, and I have not seen him once. I have no idea why, but I felt disappointed. I miss those blue eyes. I have made quite a few friends here. The Royals. I was walking in the garden when Adelina called me. "Nyx?" "In here." She has been very happy these days. It turned out that she was Solomon's chosen one. Being alone for almost five hundred years, making it hard for him to believe that he finally had one. He was less rude now. They suited each other. Adelina with her soft features and tanned skin, Solomon with his angular, sharp features and pale skin. "He is here," she said. I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and he answered my unasked question, in his husky yet velvety voice, "I am here." . . . "Percy?" My dad snapped me out of a daze. The board meeting was still going. I must have zoned out again. These visions really need to stop. Dreams are okay, but zoning out and dozing off in the middle of the day is not good. On top, my finger keeps itching. Maybe I should get it checked. No matter how much I said, I wanted the visions to stop. Deep down I knew that wasn't what I wanted. Because if the visions stop, those beautiful blue eyes would stop appearing, and I simply couldn't afford that. . . . "You are not to go anywhere without permission." His loud voice boomed out loudly in the courtroom. "But-" I was cut off by a loud shattering of glass, which he threw right at me. I know he purposely missed, but if I keep on bothering him, he won't miss again. He isn't as bad as I thought him to be. Yes, he seems to have a deep hatred for the human race, including me, but he has some good moments too. Like when he adores his sister, when he is proud of some of his brother's achievements, and some very small smiles in between conversations with the boys, especially Solomon. And sometimes longing while looking at all the couples around us. Although that doesn't necessarily make him a good person. . . . "PERCY!!!!" My sister shouted at the top of her voice. "The hell Lisa?" Apparently, I had zoned out while driving the car and almost hit someone. "Oh, s**t" I snapped. I quickly got out of the car. He was there standing and dusting his jeans, with his broad back towards me. He had a man bun, which made his hot back hotter. "Hey, are you okay?" He turned around and flashed me a perfect white smile, with beautiful dimples. I looked up to see those very same blue eyes which have been haunting my dreams for weeks. I would recognize those eyes anywhere. But-
