Uninvited Guests

Bane P.O.V. I wish she would have told me she suffered from panic attacks. I could have helped her instead of Chase. The ping of jealousy I felt when he went through her breathing steps, and the reciting the quotes to calm her down, it all went away the moment she curled up in my lap and stayed there. These Rouges had seriously messed her up, and I was fuming. I know Egan felt it, I could tell he was getting uncomfortable with how much my anger was flowing off of me. I felt soft sparks on my cheek, causing me to look down. Bailey had her hand on the side of my face, caressing it softly. “I’m gonna need you to bottle up some of that anger love.” She said softly, staring into my eyes. I’d forgotten about the mate bond, she was probably feeling this anger just as much as I was. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t even think...I’m just so- “ “Angry?” She cut me off with a slight smile, and I simply nodded. I didn’t realize at this point, all the Alphas were looking over at us. Between Bailey’s panic attack and my anger, their eyes were wide. I didn’t blame them, it was probably terrifying. “Alpha Fox, do you need a minute, or can we continue with the morning. We all understand your concern, it’s only been six months...” One of the Council member spoke, letting his sentence trail off, avoiding her gaze. I felt my mate straighten in my lap, but she didn’t leave it. That relaxed me more than I thought it would. She gave the Alpha’s a sweet, yet cold smile. “Let me ask you something, Elder Rudder. If I were male, and I had been captured by the Rouges, beaten, used, raped, all the fun stuff, and I escaped, now mind you, this is if I were male, would you be asking me that same question?” Oh the tone of her icy, pissed off voice was way more of a turn on that I could ever image. “I-uh-well we- uh. “ The Elder was struggling to find his words, which answered her question. “Yeah. Didn’t think so. Sexist asshats.” She spat in the same icy tone as before. Who was this woman, and were did my sweet Foxy go? Not that I wasn’t proud of her, because I was and the smile on my face made sure everyone knew I was. It made it even better that she was still sitting in my lap as she spoke. “Now that that’s covered, shall we continue the meeting?” Her tone of voice changed, it was more assertive and chipper. Freaky. Most of the men in the roam cleared their throats, and I could see some of the Luna’s in the background smiling their fool heads off. An female Alpha was rare, if it even happened. Usually the pack was handed down to the female’s mate, but as Bailey didn’t have a mate at the time of her getting her title, she’s kept it. That’s probably going to change whenever we decide what to do with our packs. I really hate that for her, she’s so strong and deserves to be an Alpaha. “Right, let’s talk about the Rouge problem, since we’re already on the subject. I know there have been so many small packs effected by this, what’s the reports. Who is this Rouge pack and what do they want? Why do they keep attacking packs?” Another Council member, Elder Josef, asked looking around the room. Most of the Alphas mumbled, shrugged their shoulders, made comments about not knowing. But I had this feeling that the silence and their answers were about to be answered, and not in a pleasant way. Before anyone could speak, the doors to the meeting room were suddenly pushed open, revealing a very tall male and two tallish men beside him. “I’m so hurt I wasn’t invited to this little meeting of the Alpha’s. It’s rude and insulting.” He commented, acting surprised and hurt. “As far as the Rouges go, we only want one thing. “ He turned and locked eyes with Bailey, who I felt stiffen. “And she’s right there.” The man pointed at her and I swear I heard her whimper. Who was this guy? Who did he think he was barging in her trying to take what is mine!? My grip around her tightened. “Over my dead body, Rouge.” I spat, well it was Tobias. He’d taken over before I even had a chance to react to what was happening. “Oh my dear boy. That’s the plan.” His eyes never left us, his voice was stern and cold and to the point.  Bailey P.O.V Stupid Elders and their sexist ways. It was more annoying than before. Maybe because I had a mate now and I refused to look weak in front of him. Weird, huh? Literally at the beginning of the week, I was a totally different person. I didn’t want my title. I wanted to crawl into a hole and die. I felt dirty, and unworthy. Now as I sit here, in my MATES lap, everything has changed. I feel more confident, more assertive. Like I actually deserve to be called Alpha. Until those doors opened. I thought I smelt him, but I thought maybe it was just memory from that night before we left to come here. When he showed up and we had that small interaction. Oh god was I wrong. His voice filled the room and I froze, staring right at him. I didn’t miss the small smirk that appeared when he saw me. I heard the words spoken, but I could not tear my eyes away from him, or form any words myself. Why did he always have this effect on me. ‘It’s called fear. Just breathe.’ My wolf’s voice was so soft and soothing, even in a time like this. She wasn’t worried because we had our guys, PLUS our mate, what could happen? “I swear, Luther, if you or Dominic or anyone from your pack, touch a single HAIR on his head, you’re going to be begging for death.” I found my voice, and boy was I surpised at what came out. That was all me too, Willow had nothing to do with it. I could see the shock, and amusement in his eyes. “Princess, you still belong to me. I will still have what is MINE.” It’s like he didn’t even care he was rejected. ‘Bane, mark me. Right now. Mark. Me. ‘ I mind linked him, glancing at him slightly. I could see the shock on his face, and he shook his head. ‘Absolutely not. That’ll just piss him off even more. ‘ I rolled my eyes at him. ‘That’s basically the point. ‘ I needed to show Luther, he had nothing on me now. He couldn’t mate with me, if I was marked. He would have to kill Bane… Oh f**k. He’d have to kill Bane. ‘NEVER MIND. DON’T DO THAT! ‘ I was screaming at him, making him jump slightly. ‘I didn’t think it all the way through. If you mark me, he’ll have to kill you to have me. I can’t do that. I couldn’t survive knowing you weren’t here with me.’ I turned to look at him at this point, I didn’t care if there was a lunatic Rouge staring me down. I needed to see his face. Apparently our little eye contact, didn’t go over with Luther so well. He growled rather loudly, to which Dominic also growled. He was worse that Luther. So much worse, but he never let anyone know. Except me.
