The ride to the apartment Laura and Adrian stay in, speaks of solemnity and melancholy, as Laura speaks no word to Adrian since the beginning of their drive.
“Laura,” Adrian eventually calls her name, where as Laura doesn’t respond but let’s her gaze wonder out the tinted window. In truth she knows none of what has occur is Adrian’s fault, but to Laura, she believes he can give her the respect of informing her about he and Chelsea’s relationship, after all, he is the one to suggest such terms, yet, this is the least to Laura’s worries, for Chelsea’s words ring in her ears.
Laura and Harry’s past relationship is one when in view from the public, Harry is the foundation of their relationship, whereas it is built otherwise, for his aim is the output that seem to still affect Laura till date. Of course, Laura and Adrian know of the public being able to find out about Laura’s past relationship, and may throw shades at her, all in which Laura do not care, yet, hearing it to her face from Chelsea whose aim is to badmouth her to others whom know nothing about her, in respect to the jealousy Laura has come to notice, depletes her esteem of wanting to speak about her past to anyone, for they can not understand her pain.
The two get to their destination, as Laura do not waste a second before she leaves Adrian in the car, whom in turn follows after her into their apartment.
“Laura,” Adrian calls her name, taking her to stop in her tracks while going to her room.
“Yes Adrian,” Laura turns to face Adrian, as one can view the cheerfulness absent from her face.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t know Chelsea would be there.” Adrian attempts to explain himself, whereas Laura doesn’t say anything but stare at him. “Please say something. Talk to me.” Adrian whom worry fills, speaks in perplexity of what to do.
“I’m tired Adrian and would like to rest now.” Laura says to Adrian, while she do not wait for a response from him before she turns her back and walks away, taking Adrian to run a hand into his hair in frustration and a curse escaping his lips.
——————-
“Morning Adrian,” Laura greets with a smile on her lips the moment she sights Adrian.
“Morning…Laura,” Adrian’s gaze hold perplexity while staring at Laura whom holds an excited gaze. “Are you alright?” Adrian inquires with suspicion from Laura, with reminisce of the incident between them of the previous night.
“Of course I am. Are you?” Laura responds, taking Adrian to stare vividly at her and her appearance. Unlike Laura whom is not a solicitor of heavy makeup, Adrian takes notice of the one she wears at the moment, as through her blended foundation, he notices an increase in volume under her eyes, taking him to realize one thing.
Laura did cry.
“About yesterday Laura,….”
“Forget about it Adrian. Such events are bound to happen, and we can not control it. It’s not your fault.” Laura speaks, dismissing his words instantly as though she wants no remembrance of their previous night, whilst Adrian remains clueless on her reasons for doing so.
Adrian nods his head at Laura’s suggestion, while faking a smile to his lips, for deep within him, guilt builds in him for not able to help Laura get through her difficulty, when he is indeed the foundation of why such did occur.
“I just called in for breakfast, it should be here soon.” Adrian speaks, taking his words off the persisting matter in his heart.
“Thank you. I am starving,” Laura says while a a chuckle escape her lips, whilst Adrian only stares at her with knowledge of the pain she tries she hide, by being in denial.
“Can you accompany me somewhere?” Adrian inquires out of the blue to Laura.
“Where are we going?” Laura questions with her gaze in curiosity.
“I want to show you something. You’ll like it.” Adrian says, whereas Laura takes her time before she responds, nevertheless, she nods her head with a smile replacing her lips.

The wind blows tremendously on Laura’s hair, such that she hears the sound passing through her hair, while she walks the sand of the beach with Adrian beside her.
“It’s beautiful,” Laura comments on the waving waters with her eyes filling with amusement, for Laura is one whom is a lover of water.
“It is, but wait till we get there. It’s even more beautiful,” Adrian talks while leading Laura to their destination, with a hand in his pocket as they walk. Laura follows Adrian dedicatedly, while they enter a cave, and her gaze goes in wonderment at the sight in front of her, such that she stops in her tracks.
“Wow,” is the first word to exit Laura’s lips, as she stares at a portion of the cave craved into a pool of water, while the ceiling of the cave is broken in the middle, to create an entrance of moon light whenever the moon shines. “It’s really beautiful,” Laura adds, as she still remains in wonder.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t come on a day of the full moon, you would have seen how magical it looks,” Adrian tells Laura, while her gaze rests in the waters, as the only light in the cave is the one which emits from the sky as a result of the moon.
“How did you find this place?” Laura inquires taking her gaze to be on Adrian.
“My mother.” Adrian answers as his words come soft but curt, whereas Laura go silent at his response. “My mother used to tell me about a cave she found in Babardos. She said the cave is magical to the extent that when you stare at it, you instantly forget about your worries and all your heart feel is calmness and love.” Adrian continues while Laura listens peacefully. “Unfortunately, I didn’t get to come to the cave with her till she passed away, and during those times when I grieved of her, all I wanted was to find this cave so as to find closure or perhaps the calmness she spoke about.” Adrian adds, while his gaze goes to glance at Laura.
“But you did,” Laura eventually speaks, with a soft smile on her lips to Adrian.
“Yes I did, but not as soon as I thought.” Adrian responds, while his gaze moves away from Laura and into the water. “There is a myth that comes along with the cave. It is said that, the cave finds you and not you finding it. Now believe me, because I am not the type to believe in myth and fictions, but I do believe it for when I believed I lost all sense of living, I found this place, rather it found me.” Adrian says with a smile on his lips, while his hands goes into his pocket.
“And it has found you too Laura,” Adrian adds with his gaze on Laura, causing Laura to stare in dumbfound at him. “Do you know why I was able to find this place Laura?” Adrian inquires from Laura, while she stays silent waiting for him to speak. “I finally had the courage to speak my true feelings to someone about the pain I felt, despite it being years of my parents death.” Adrian tells Laura, as he faces her vividly.
“Let me in Laura. I know it is hard, but let me help with whatever it is you go though. I know our relationship didn’t start as the best and we have plans of going our separate ways in a year, yet it doesn’t mean, we can’t make each other better. It doesn’t mean we can’t be there for the other.” Adrian tells Laura, whereas she takes her gaze away from Adrian. Seeing her actions, Adrian takes steps closer to her, such that not an inch remains between them,, while he towers her in height.
“I do take my vow which I made to you seriously, and either we like it or not, we are going to know more of each other’s lives and we may not like what we get or see, but we will.” Adrian adds. “So please Laura, let me help you too. Let me be your shoulder to which you cry on, let me also be a strength for you and let me protect you, but I can only do all of these when you let me in.” Adrian speaks with heartfelt, for even if their beginning is not amongst the best, Adrian sees more reasons daily as to why he can not let go of a woman like Laura, just like that.
“Alright Adrian. Alright.” Laura speaks, as the moonlight shines at her taking Adrian to see the loneliness in her eyes. A loneliness he makes a priority to fill, even if It is just for a year.
