A Wedding Guest.

1684 Words
As Laura exits La bijouterie, she finds herself still tempered at the discussion she had inside. It is a fact that she is a perspicacious person and she knew that, which is why it baffled her as of why she judged wrongly about Adrian Alimson. "That jerk!" She mutters under her breath before getting into her car and driving off to her next destination, which she is unfortunately late to.  It also seems time is not on her side, as the seconds run faster than she can even count. Eventually, she gets to her next stop, 'La soiuee bakery,' as she rushes out of her grey infinity and into the shop. Thankfully for her, she is able to successfully make a transaction with them, and at her presence a van is sent out to rescue the wedding cake stopped at the middle of the road, that's if John had not found another alternative before hers, as of her lateness by a particular, Adrian Alimson. Laura sighs heavily getting back into the car, as all these drama is getting too much to handle this early morning, and it wouldn't have been, if a man she met at the jewelry store did not stress her out.In her life, she never wants to meet a man such as Adrian again, as his first impression to her is just a total blow off.  She starts on her engine after catching her composure, before leaving the area and back to her best friend whom is getting married, also a best friend that has been calling her non stop, persistently worried to death. Laura gets back to the lounge, meeting her best friend tucked in a wedding dress, her make up done and her hair packed neatly, as she stops in her tracks, staring at her best friend like she has never seen her before. And before Laura knows it, a tear is slipping down her eye, not because of want to also have a day like this, but the happiness she feels for her best friend.  As in instinct, the both of them increases their pace, moving to meet each other before pulling theirselves into a hug.  "You look like a princess, you look so much like a princess. I'm so very happy for you Gia...i.." Laura not able to complete her sentence as more tears cascade down. "Don't cry, don't cry Loo, you know what I'll become if I begin to shade my own tears... Don't cry." Georgia at her best of preventing tears drop from eyes, seeing her best friend like this.  The two pull apart from their hug, as Laura holds her friends hands in hers. "I don't know how to say the words but, I want you to know that I do wish you a very happy marriage life, I wish you complete satisfaction in the new life you're stepping into." The words exiting Laura's lips as that is enough to counter any strength Georgia has of preventing the tears.  Even if Laura isn't married, Georgia doesn't care at all, as she would always remain the best friend she has. And as the two friends exchange their heart warming feelings, so do people around them watch in admiration of what a beautiful relationship they hold. And even if Laura isn't the one getting married, no one cares at the moment.  -------------- After sealing the knot between Georgia and David, the two newly Wed couples converse with the guest whom came to show their love by attending, before moving down to the reception. Laura talks with some of the guest behind the newlyweds, while they too converse with a particular guest David introduces his wife to.  "Laura," Georgia calls for Laura who converses behind her with a guest.  "Thank you for coming, it's a pleasure to have you here." Laura greets, ending her conversation with the guests before turning to meet the newlyweds.  "I want you to meet a friend of David's. He's a longtime friend of David, also the CEO of A and A industries, I'm sure you've heard of it?" Laura describes to her friend, with her gaze still on Georgia who speaks. As Laura shifts her gaze to acknowledge the person Georgia is introducing her to, her breath hangs as she stares at a face she never expected and detest to meet again. "Meet Mr Adrian Alimson, Laura." Georgia continues with a bright smile not seeing the expression held by her friend.  "Hello Laura. Nice to meet you again." Adrian, whom fate always seems to be on his side extends his hand to Laura with a bright and mischievous smile on his lips.  Laura staring as though this is a dream to her leave Adrian hanging, as he takes that as his cue to retract his hand back, while the two newlyweds stares in perplexity.  "Oh, I didn't know you two knew each other? David on the other hand asking his friend in particular says.  "Yes we do know each other, actually we met at a store..." "Excuse me Mr Alimson, but we do not know each other. So thank you for coming." Laura cuts Adrain off as all three pairs of eyes now stare at her in confusion.  What is going on? That none of them can understand, but one person definitely did. Adrian Alimson.  "I'm sorry Laura, but did you two have..."  "No it's fine Georgia, Miss Eduoard is probably just stressed at the moment and does not recall our encounter." Adrian cuts Georgia off, as Laura's mouth goes open at his odersity again to manipulate the situation.  What sort of man is he? She thinks. Why, why is fate not on her side? she envisages. Why does she have to meet such an arrogant man twice in a row, at a day like this? "Yes you're right, I probably don't like to remember unfortunate events, so pardon me Mr Alimson." Laura replies him, having a sly smile on her lips. If he wants to play the dumb game there, she is also in for it.  "Laura!" Her friend taken back by her response calls her name. Adrian on the other hand glares at the woman in front of him, who seems to stir up his patience, and if looks could kill, Laura would be down the ground already.  But as a business man that Adrian is, he always knows how to control the situation. "I'm guessing Miss Eduoard is still mad at me for having left our date abruptly, which I have sincerely apologized for, and still yet, it seems I'm not forgiven." At the completion of Adrian's words, Laura's eyes go wide at his statement, as the two couples both exchange a look of understanding as of where this conversation came from.  "You peccable man! How..." Laura gets struck at her own words, as she stares at Adrian in disbelief who is clearly testing her patience.  "Oh, now I understand where this is coming from." David interrupts with a smile on his lips as Georgia also have a smile on her's staring at her friend, whom she didn't understand why she kept such of knowing a man like Adrian from her.  Not that she had a problem with it, as Adrian is a very fine man, to which even if she is just meeting him has a very wonderful character.  Or so she thinks.  Nevertheless, she can't help but feel happy that the two know each other and have even been on a date according to Adrian, because if anyone is to be happy for her best friend catching the eye of someone like Adrian Alimson, it would be her.  But, little does she know.  "You my friend," David who seems satisfied with the situation taps gently on his Adrian's shoulder. "Seem to have angered Laura, and well who wouldn't be. As you said you practically left her on your date... " "No that's not true... He didn't leave me on any date, rather I left his presence." Laura cuts in trying to mind her words and anger as they are in public, and she did not want to create a scene, especially not with Adrian. As though her words don't even defend her point, rather they only compliment to what Adrian has said, but all these unknown to Laura.  "Okay I think I see where this is going. Adrian I won't lie to you, and it very well says you have wronged Laura, so in that case I believe it is left to you to fix it properly, which my wife and I would like not to interfere." David speaks as each word that he says comes satisfactory. "Oh I very well agree with David." Georgia adds in, before chuckling and staring at her friend in amazement.  "I can't... I can't believe this. How can you both believe such a theory?" Laura perplexed at how easy Adrian is able to manipulate his words into the hearts of her friends. "Babe, I think we should leave the space for the two, it seems they have a lot to discuss." Georgia slips her hand back into her husband's arm. "I think so too." David agrees with his wife.  "What... No... You can't... " "I'm sure you'll be able to find your way to the reception my friend, and if you can't, I'm certain Laura would gladly show you the way." David snubs whatever it is Laura has to say, as he believes it is in their good will and suspects nothing of his friends scheme.  "I'm so happy for you Laura. I'll see you at the reception." Georgia whispers into her friends ear, giggling like a little child, while Laura believes Adrian must have done something to bewitch her two friends.  The newlyweds don't take long as they leave immediately, leaving these two individuals, one of rage filled in her, while the other with a mischievous smile on his lips.  "Seems like fate is on my side, Miss Eduoard." Adrian speaks and if Laura can, a slap across the face is what she imagines giving to a particular Adrian Alimson.
