Yan Hao thought of the possible people who would have motives to assassinate him after waking up in his bed. Yan Li, Yan Hao's younger brother, explained everything to him about the two cultivators who helped him and all the guards that the Yan sect leader sent to accompany him to the wedding of a close friend were killed.

He did offend one of the guests at the wedding for sleeping with his younger twin brother but it wasn't Yan Hao's doing. Yan Hao couldn't help it. He was too handsome that he attracts not only women but also men and Yan Hao takes advantage of it, messing around everywhere and anyone he likes.

Yan Hao once fell in love with his childhood friend, Ning Jing, and they planned to marry each other when they grow up. They both didn't think that Ning Jing's parents would arrange her a marriage to another family. To the Du and Du Yuan, the eldest son of the Du patriarch, became Ning Jing's betrothed.

Yan Hao cried his heart out that day Ning Jing got married and swore that he would never fall in love again only to be hurt that way, so he started fooling around until now.

Yan Hao closed his eyes and remembered that he saw the one who tried to kill him. A small yet fast man but he didn't saw the face. No one saw the face because the man wrapped his head with black cloth and a veil around his face leaving only the eyes uncovered.

When Yan Li went inside the room and told him that the two cultivators were rewarded by hot pot as their request, Yan Hao stood up from his bed wanting to personally thank the cultivators for saving him. If it weren't for them, he would be dead. Yan Hao was also glad their parents were away so they didn't have to worry about him.

Walking in the hall, Yan Hao was surprised to see a familiar man. The cultivator in all white. Yan Hao was sure that he had seen the man somewhere and that kind of face would be hard to forget, wearing an ice-cold and bored expression while looking so handsome.

The man's face was to Yan Hao's liking.

The two already done eating their hot pot and they both stood up and saluted when they saw the man who they saved a few hours ago walked in.

Yong Jie was so full and he felt so satisfied after eating that he only want to sit down but Yong Jie forced himself to stand up and greet the man whom they saved as he walked inside the hall.

After saluting, Yong Jie scanned the man. He looked perfectly good like nothing happened to him and his useless arm was already healed. Yong Jie guessed that the poison was already out of his system. He was quite the looker too.

"This young master would like to thank these good young masters for saving Yan Hao." Yan Hao said after saluting the two cultivators.

"It's nothing. We were glad young master Yan Hao already recovered." Yong Jie said and Yan Hao scanned Yong Jie.

Yan Hao could tell just by a glance that Yong Jie was a jolly person. Someone who has a lot of energy to play around the whole day. He has this stubborn young master aura yet a determined heart if he set it to things he wanted to do. Yao Hao would get along well with this Yong Jie.

The two cultivators left after saying their goodbyes to Yan Hao and Yan Li for they needed to go to North to attend some business.

Speaking of North, Yan Li turned to Yan Hao and was thinking about the news he received from the North that happened a few days ago.

"Demons appeared in the North." Yan Li started and as Yan Li thought, the news caught Yan Hao's attention.

Yan Li knew that Yan Hao still has a lingering feeling to Ning Jing even after so many years and he still values what kind of complicated relationship they have. Because of Ning Jing's husband, Du Yuan, Ning Jing was forbidden to exchange letters to Yan Hao knowing that they were sweethearts and Du Yuan knew that Ning Jing had no feeling for him. The two star-crossed lovers would only keep their feelings in their hearts as it both cried for the longing of each other's presence.

"A plague carrier demon caused the chaos and few of the clans got wiped out instantly as the plague showed no signs in the beginning but only on the last day of the victim's life, bleeding in their *qiqiao." Yan Li said. "The Du clan was one of them."

Yan Hao's heart twisted in pain as it started beating fast. He opened his mouth only to close it again when he didn't know what to say.

Yan Hao didn't care about the Du clan, he only cared about Ning Jing and hearing that the whole clan got wiped because of a plaque demon. He didn't want to believe it but coming from Yan Li's lips who never relayed any information without confirming made Yan Hao felt weak.

Before Yan Hao could calm his system, someone rushed inside the hall then saluted. It was one of the guards of the manor.

"Young masters, your humble servant caught a suspicious man outside the manor claiming that he was the one who harmed young master Yan Hao and the guards." The guard reported making Yan Hao's blood boiled.

"Let me take a look at him." Yan Hao said, gritting his teeth.

That man dared to scout still in Yan Hao's territory after the attempt of murdering him. Yan Hao guessed the man heard that Yan Hao was still alive after his attempt so he came back to finish what he needed to finish.

Yan Hao couldn't wait to vent his anger inside his heart for losing Ning Jing and for the failed assassination.
