The demon glanced at Yao Xue. Every demon would fear seeing a cultivator's spirit weapon for it could destroy their souls, exterminating it completely without leaving a trace but the demon wasn't afraid. He believed he was more clever than these two cultivators who were driven by their emotions. The man in red robes was easy to control but the one in white looked not so easy to trick. The demon couldn't even read Yao Xue's expression. "I wonder if your lover's still alive, right now?" The demon provoked and Yao Xue gripped JiJing tight, maintaining his cold expression. Zi Xiāng also materialized his spiritual weapon, a black saber. It looked heavy but Zi Xiāng lifted it like a normal sword. The demon leaped back and flicked his right hand turning his claws into solid black claws and it was longer as half-length of their swords. Zi Xiāng charged. Claws and saber clashing in sharp sounds and Yao Xue draw a silver arrow and released it. The demon knew of their plan, Zi Xiāng as the one fighting him in front while Yao Xue shooting arrows behind. Though the demon saw Yao Xue, he wasn't fast enough to move his body from the shot. The silver arrow cut a line of flesh on his arm making the demon glared at Yao Xue and charged at him. How dare some lowly cultivator grazed him. Yao Xue flicked his arm to the side making Jijing disappear and Jinghua flee from its sheath countering the demon's attack before it flew back to Yao Xue's hand. Yao Xue leaped and fought the demon. As expected, the demon's claws were as hard as steel and not to mention they were venomous. The demon moved his claws as fast as Yao Xue swung Jinghua. They were equal and Yao Xue was trying to find the perfect time to catch the demon off guard. Zi Xiāng screamed as he charged and Yao Xue withdrew. Drawing JiJing, Yao Xue had a hard time moving his bow and aiming for a shot because they were moving around but Yao Xue did a few shots and all of them successfully scraped the demon's skin making the demon more pissed. The demon charged at Yao Xue and leaped back, drawing an arrow and shot it. The demon blocked it with its claws and he was surprised how strong the blow of the arrow was making him leaped back. The demon took raining arrows thousands of years ago but he hadn't received such strong blow coming from an arrow as if his claws were hit by a heavy sword. He wondered if because it was a spiritual weapon. Yao Xue wanted to end it as fast as he could. It was the first time he was getting impatient. Yao Xue could take down the demon with Jijing if Zi Xiāng wouldn't start screaming and swinging his saber. Yao Xue wasn't saying that the cultivator in red wasn't good with his saber. Their moves just don't sync. It looked like they were fighting who could kill the demon first. Yao Xue drew an arrow and the three of them paused when they felt another presence. Three cultivators arrived in the scene after hearing that the demon was there. Of course, the demon wasn't happy about that scene thinking he should have flown earlier. Yao Xue recognized one of the three cultivators. The tallest and the oldest of them. A sect leader of one of the four major sects in the world, Teng Sect. Sect leader Teng Fei recognized Yao Xue. The first time he saw Yao Xue was during a competition held at Teng Sect and the man, though cold, was remarkable with his skills during the competition and Yao Xue's appearance was hard to forget. Yao Xue and Zi Xiāng saluted to the three cultivators and they saluted back making the demon rolled his eyes. "We heard this demon is responsible for the plague." Teng Fei said, flipping his sleeves as he folded his right arm on his back and scanning the demon. Teng Fei has been cultivating for thousands of years and dealt a lot of demons in his lifetime. An arrogant and proud plague demon wasn't new to Teng Fei but he was more worried about how the world was becoming. A lot of different demons suddenly appearing one by one and it never happened for thousands of years. Rumors started spreading that the demon Lord had escaped the seal of the immortal cultivator. "Yes, Sect leader Teng Fei." Zi Xiāng said. One of the other two cultivators looked at Zi Xiāng worriedly seeing how his eyes were becoming worst. "Young master, are you okay?" Zi Xiāng felt conscious and looked away as he nodded his head. "He got the plague." Sect leader Teng Fei said surprised the two Teng Sect disciples. "Xiao Duyi, take care of the young master." Teng Fei was referring to the gentle-looking man who asked Zi Xiāng. Teng Fei drew his sword and rumors about that sword were indeed true how it shines red if the blade was struck by the sunlight. It was said that the reason why it shines red because of the blood that the sword had shed from all the demons it slayed. Yao Xue was surprised how Teng Fei was good and fast that the demon who was grinning was already broken into sweat. "I heard the Yao Sect disciples are pretty good with their bow." Teng Fei said and then glanced at Yao Xue. Yao Xue understood sect leader Teng Fei and materialized Jijing. Teng Fei gave Yao Xue some opportunity to shot his arrow to the demon yet the demon would block Teng Fei's sword with his claws and swung it to the arrow's direction. Yao Xue's shots were strong that it created an impact every time his arrows were blocked. Usually, Yao Xue would use Jijing for his finishing blow and Yao Xue was more confident about fighting alone than with someone else. Yao Xue breathed out and draw an arrow that appeared from nowhere. Teng Chengli, the other Teng disciple, was surprised seeing Yao Xue aiming his arrow to nowhere near the demon and Teng Fei with his eyes closed. The two who were fighting leaped and Yao Xue let go of the arrow. The demon hissed and when an arrow struck on his shoulder making him glared to Yao Xue. He had a hard time countering Teng Fei's blow and he also needed to watch for those deadly arrows. ××× Yao Xue left the scene as fast as he could after Teng Fei defeated the plague demon. Yao Xue was only distracting the demon when Teng Fei sunk his spirit weapon on the demon's chest. When it was over and Yao Xue badly wanted to see Yong Jie again. Yao Xue stormed in the inn that the staff was surprised yet forgiving seeing how handsome the man was. Yao Xue climbed the stairs two at a time and pushed the door of their room open. His heart pounded inside his chest seeing Yong Jie on the floor. Yao Xue hurriedly sprint to Yong Jie and crouched down, pulling Yong Jie in his lap. Yao Xue had never been afraid to confirm it himself. Yong Jie was bleeding everywhere of his head openings. Yao Xue's hand was trembling as he checked Yong Jie's pulse and his heart never pounded that loud as he checked on Yong Jie's eyes. ×××××××
