05|Yong Jie

They restrained Chu Lian when the guards caught him after running away. Chu Lian's speed couldn't even compare to those people practicing *qinggong who could fly gracefully in the air in just a fee strides. What the hell!? Was he inside a fiction story!? He was caught not even a minute has passed after taking advantage of the chaos caused by the Madam collapsing in shock. "What are you doing!?" Chu Lian moved his body trying to get away even though he knew that it was useless. His hands and legs were tied tightly on each edge of a poster bed and a physician was ordered by the sect leader to check what was going on to the Third brother Jie. "Stop restraining, Third brother Jie. You know it'll be useless." The physician with a long beard said as he looked down at Chu Lian. Chu Lian gritted his teeth. It was true and he was just wasting his energy. He stopped struggling and looked straight to the ceiling. They wanted to know if this Jie's body was possessed and where was the true Third brother Jie. It wasn't Chu Lian's fault that he landed on that body. It was heaven's doing! "I didn't turn into a lunatic!" Chu Lian exclaimed. "No one was saying you're a lunatic." The physician calmly said. Chu Lian watched him raised his hand, pointing both his fore and middle fingers to his forehead, close enough but not to touch on his skin yet he could feel strange energy radiating on those fingers. Cold yet warm. "W-What are you doing?" Chu Lian sounded nervous and the physician just shushed him as he continued to concentrate and slowly ran his fingers down his nose and chin feeling and the weird energy on his skin flowing where the fingers moved. Chu Lian stayed quiet and just watched the physician. He watched these types of dramas before where they use spiritual energies. Those things only happen in dramas and never would he thought that his poor soul would slip into a parallel world that was similar to those dramas. A feeling of excitement and fear was creeping in his system. The physician's finger stopped on top of his navel and then withdrew his fingers. His gaze turned to Chu Lian. "I was suspecting that Third brother Jie's body was possessed with demons since early this year, demons are appearing everywhere around the area... but my guess was wrong." Chu Lian couldn't explain how he was feeling. It felt like he was inside a clinic and was listening to the doctor as he read the result of his test if he was positive of whatever deadly disease. "Does that mean?" Chu Lian curiously asked. "Do you recognize who you are?" He asked. "I... I'm Third brother Jie." He muttered and looked away from the physician. Did the physician know that some lowly soul replaced Third brother Jie's body? "There are a lot of causes why someone forgets their memories." The physician stated as he started untying the straps restraining Chu Lian. "It depends to the person. Our mind is a powerful tool and I am guessing Third brother Jie had too much to think. Too much that his own mind locked down everything in his subconscious. That's the only reason I could come up with Third brother Jie's sudden change of behavior as if turning into a different person." Chu Lian sat up and rubbed his wrists seeing a visible red mark from the restrains. Of course, Chu Lian knew that the physician was wrong but he couldn't fathom the reason why the physician couldn't trace how this Third Brother died or that the original soul was replaced by his soul. It was heaven's will after all. There is nothing they can do about it. "Tell me, royal physician. What kind of a man this Third brother Jie is?" Chu Lian asked. "A cold yet obedient young master. Third brother Jie is one of the prides of Yong Sect. Excels in combat with undefeatable swordsmanship that even surpasses the First brother Xian's skills." He said. Chu Lian was never near to this Third brother Jie. The guy was way too cool compared to him. The complete opposite. He hasn't even welded a sword before. Just a game console. The physician went out and allowed everyone to enter the room again. The Madam hastily went inside and cupped Chu Lian's face. "Ah Jie. Royal physician Fang told us about your condition." Madam Meixiu worriedly said and checked her son's feature. There was nothing wrong with her son except that he had lost his memories and turned into a complete stranger. "Mother, I am fine." Chu Lian had no choice. Chu Lian could only adjust to his new life and maybe forget his past life. There was no use of lingering to his past life when he already exists in a different world. Since it was what it is, Chu Lian was determined to live a new life and maybe get used to calling himself as Yong Jie. Though he couldn't be the real Yong Jie who was skilled in every aspect of life and cold but he could build a new Yong Jie. His own version of Yong Jie. He doesn't have to be cold or good at everything so long as he could just continue living and not to mention living as a young master might not that bad. Of course, Chu Lian couldn't forget the person who poisoned the real Third brother Jie. Maybe it was the reason why Chu Lian's soul got stuck to that body. To find the one who poisoned Yong Jie. Maybe it was the purpose. Chu Lian felt relieved thinking about those things. He thought he would be clueless about what to do in that life but now that he has a purpose to live yet he was still too weak to defend himself. Thinking maybe he should find someone to protect him and do his orders for he doesn't have that confidence to become a good swordsman or even to learn how. After all, he was just Chu Lan who only knows how to fight bloody battles in video games. ××××××××× *Qinggong- a form of Chinese martial arts.
