Chapter 2

Lily’s POV You don’t remember? Cora was shouting at me with excitement, The Winter King was about to kill us, Lily. Then a strange voice called us, and we answered. Suddenly, we appeared here and, apparently, we are not dead! “Of course, I remember!” I frowned as these horrible memories replayed in my mind. “It’s just…how could that be true?!” I remember clearly how that bastard Winter King strangled me in his castle and how that strange female voice asked me to go back to the past to change my fate or our fates… She said that blood/y Winter King is my mate! How could that be?! I thought that was just a ridiculous hallucination upon my death, but now you’re telling me that everything she said was true?! Did that mean I was in the past now? But how could that even be possible? And again, what the hell did “the past” even mean? “So where am I?” That was too much information for me to process in a short time. I kept looking around like a terrified bird and asked blankly. A voice answered me in my head, but it wasn’t Cora or the gentle female voice who brought me here. It’s another voice that sounded young like a teenage girl about my age. “You’re in my time.” The voice said softly. I was so confused, “Your time is what time? And who are you?” The voice answered me politely, “My time is 100 years earlier than your time. And I’m the owner of this body you are currently in. My name is Lucy Frost, the princess of the West Kingdom.” I widened my eyes in surprise. It’s hard to say what shocked me more now. The fact that I am currently in another person’s body or the fact that I’m talking to that famous Princess Lucy! She was in almost every history book because of her bad reputation and her mysterious death when she just turned 18. I stuttered at my speech, “Wow…that’s unbelievable…” I literally didn’t know how to comment on the current situation! I mean, I’m in the body of Princess Lucy who lived 100 years ago! And she was talking to me! That sounded so crazy! The Princess smiled at my reaction, “It’s alright, Lily. I know I am a bad person and people hate me. And I know I die at very young age. Actually, I just died the moment before you came into my body.” That shocked me even more, “Really? Is that because of me?” “Of course not.” The Princess explained gently, “I died because one of my maids poisoned me. But I guess that’s your problem now. The point is, after I died, the Moon Goddess came to me and asked if I was willing to lend my body to you.” My head exploded with so much information. “Wait! Did you just say the Moon Goddess? Did you see her? What’s she like? Is she real?” I asked her hastily. Before today, I always thought the Moon Goddess was just a lie for pups like Santa! The Princess answered me softly, “Sorry, Lily. I didn’t see her with my own eyes. I just heard her voice. Actually, she never said she was the Moon Goddess. I just assume she is. Otherwise, who else could it be? She told me Aries Winter would become the vicious Winter King one year after my death. Then he will kill all my family. Since you are his mate, which makes you the only one who can stop this. But to do that, you need my identity to get close to him. That’s why she asked me to lend my body to you.” She said a lot in one breath. And that explained basically everything. Still, both Cora and I frowned angrily, “She told you I am Aries Winter’s mate, too? Is that a true thing?!” The Princess smiled at my rude question, “Of course it’s true. Why would the Moon Goddess lie about that? You’re indeed the mate of Aries Winter, Lily. I can just feel it.” She sighed a little bit after saying that, “I am sorry, Lily. I know Aries Winter is a difficult person, this must be hard for you to accept.” Oh gril! You have no idea how hard it is! He murdered my whole family and slaughtered so many of my army. I am so going to rip his heart out and smash his head with a huge rock to avenge all my companions! Nothing in the world could describe my hatred to that ruthless bastard!!! “Is there a way I can get out of this?” I bit my teeth so hard, refusing to accept the fact that I was paired to that bastard by the Moon Goddess. He strangled me so quickly. I didn’t even get the chance to see his face clearly. All I remembered was that he was this ferocious monster who had a huge scary black tattoo covering all over his face. “No, there isn’t.” Lucy broke my dream mercilessly, “Listen, Lily. I know you hated Aries Winter, and I don’t like him either. But you must gather yourself up and stop him from turning into that evil Winter King. If you don’t, he’ll kill my family in one year and all your family a hundred years later. That’s the price we can’t afford, right?” “Yeah, I guess so.” I literally squeezed those words out of my teeth as I hated this idea of getting connected with that bastard so much. But if that could actually bring all my family and friends back to life, then I will do it without hesitation. “So what should I do?” I frowned while asking the princess with reluctance and hatred in my heart, “You said I needed your identity to get close to that bastard. Are you guys friends or something?” “Well, I’d like to fill you in but my time is up.” The princess let out a big sigh, “I must leave know, but I guess you can find your answer from my memory. Good luck with you, Lily. I really hope you can stop him. And please remember don’t ever let anyone find out you’re not me.”
