Alliah then finds writing another dimension to her life. She can freely express her emotions and imaginations all at the same time.
As she unleashes her writing potential, she can freely do things that aren't possible now.
"Hey, Mommy, what are you writing," her son Joshua went beside her.
"I am writing a romance story, son," she said to him while smiling. She continued to write and her passion for writing can easily be seen through her sparkling eyes.
"Mommy, can I bother you?" Joshua asked her with his puppy eyes.
Alliah stopped what she was doing and turned to her son. He is always her priority.
"Of course, my son. What is it? Do you want something?" she lovingly asked him.
"Can you please cook some noodles for me? I am hungry. Granny is not around," he said while caressing his big tummy.
"Oooh, my baby is hungry. Okay, I'll save my work and cook your noodles," she said to her son while saving her work.
Cooking noodles is quite an easy task for her even if she's in recovery and can't just walk to the kitchen easily.
As she was preparing Joshua's noodles, her mobile phone vibrated.
An email pops in.
She immediately opened it and was surprised. It was from her editor on the digital platform she had applied her story a few days ago.
She said that her work had passed with the initial assessment and offered her an exclusive contract.
"Wow, it's real. My work had been accepted and the offer was pretty good. I can make a living if I focus on writing," she said to herself.
Even though her son was still young, she shared her good news and Joshua was so happy for his mother.
"Yey, that means Mom that you're working from home already even if you get better," Joshua exclaimed happily. The little man always wanted his mother to be by his side when he was growing up, but it had never happened before.
Alliah was a workaholic woman. Being an abandoned wife, and a single parent, she decided to devote all her time to her job, forget all the pain, and give what's best for her only child.
She had some regrets about her past corporate life because her time had been consumed so much by them, giving her son only a tiny portion of her time.
Hearing her son's excited words, somewhat pinched Alliah's heart. Her son's simple words brought a lot of realization to her.
"Come here Joshua," she asked him to come near her. When Joshua came beside her, she kissed her and hugged him so tight.
"I am so sorry, son because Mommy has neglected you for so long. From now on, Mommy will never leave you," she told her son while sobbing.
"It's alright Mommy. I understand and forgive you already. I know that you only worked so hard before because of me. You never neglected me, you love me that much, Mommy. I love you," Joshua kissed his mother's cheeks and wiped off her tears.
Alliah cried once more. She was so thankful to her son. At a young age, he already had a mature level of understanding.
"I love you more, son. Mommy will now focus on writing so that we stay together okay," she promised her son.
The little man nodded and hugged his mother again. He was so happy that his mother would be working from home now. He was always worried before, especially if Alliah was still on the road late at night coming from her work. He always kept himself awake and prayed for his mother's safe journey home.
"Come on son, your noodles are ready. Eat well son, "Alliah called his son at their dining table.
"Thank you, Mommy. I love you so much," Joshua excitedly sat well and started to eat his noodles.
Alliah was so happy watching his son excitedly eat his noodles. Joshua loves eating a lot, making him such a cute fatty little man.
She smiled and started to think about the upcoming days working on her book. She can now do work from home through her keyboard and can take care of her only son, Joshua.
"Mommy, I am done," Joshua told his mother after eating all the noodles from his bowl. "Yummy! I am already full Mommy. Thank you. You are my supermom," he said while kissing Alliah's cheeks again and again.
"Hey! I love you too, my son," Alliah almost lost her balance as her son kissed her simultaneously.
"I am so lucky to have you as my mother, Mommy," Joshua lovingly said to his mother.
"I am so blessed to have you, Joshua. You are God's gift to me," Alliah gave a peck to her son.
As they were hugging each other, Apple came in and smiled, seeing how beautiful the mother and child were in front of her. She thought of her sister Alliah having a failed marriage, yet they were so thankful that she had been given a loving son to be with her all the time. Seeing how happy her sister was right now made her teary-eyed.
"Errrm!" Apple said, which interrupted the sweet moment of the mother and son pair.
"Auntie Apple!" Joshua immediately turned to his aunt and started to check her shopping bag.
"Wow, lots of fruit and fresh milk! Are all these for Mommy?" he asked while his eyes sparkled.
"Yes, these are all for you two," Apple kissed her nephew. Joshua seemed to be the apple of their eyes since Alliah gave birth to him. Joshua was God's gift to their family as Alliah waited for 12 years to conceive before Joshua came into the world. Alliah had a lot of illnesses and yet the birth of Joshua gave her another hope to survive. Joshua seemed to be a miracle boy to extend his mother's life.
"Thank you Auntie for being so kind to us. We love you," Joshua kissed his aunt back.
"Thank you, sissy. You always pamper us. I can't even repay you any longer, "Alliah said to her sister.
"I don't ask anything in return. Oops! I mean, you can pay me for your good health. So be healthy okay," Apple smiled at her sister after saying her words.
"I love you Apple," Alliah said while hugging her sister.
"I love you more sis," Apple replied and kissed her sister's cheek.
Alliah then told Apple about the email she received from the editor.
"Wow! Congratulation! You made it. I was really surprised knowing I have an author sister now," Apple was so proud to hear the great news from her sister.
"I just tried it, and bingo my book passed," Alliah excitedly announced.
The siblings chat the whole time while Joshua played in the living room.
