Chapter 7

Kodi’s P.O.V

  I had never felt so nervous and yet so happy in all my life, but as I walked up to my room it made me realise just how much I would have to do before my mate was able to come here. I walked into my room to pack my things for the two days, but when I took a look around I realised how much of a mess it was. I only ever use this room to sleep in, but it was like a pig had been living here and I never realised just how much I had neglected to clean it. I picked up the dirty clothes off the floor and furniture, put them in the hamper and then grabbed the cleaning supplies from the cupboard. I dusted and polished the night stands, dresser and vanity, then swept and mopped the floor. I took another look around to make sure I hadn’t missed anything and the only thing I could see was a stray sock sticking out from under my bed, which I immediately grabbed and threw in the hamper. Once I had finished cleaning everything up and putting things away I grabbed a few things and packed for a few days. I grabbed a towel and went straight to the bathroom, taking a quick shower, drying off and then getting dressed in my blue jeans and black button up shirt. I grabbed my bag and took another look to make sure I hadn’t forgotten anything, then left my room, closing and locking the door behind me. I ran downstairs, but was met with a very angry looking Lisa.

  “What the hell took you so long? It's been two whole damn hours, we should have left by now.” Lisa snapped, making me look at the clock in the hallway.

  “s**t, sorry I lost track of time. I had to clean my room up, then I took a shower. Come on, I’ll call Alpha Brandon on the way there.” I replied, as Lisa and I rushed out the door. We got to the car to find Scot and Zayn already sitting in the front seats of the car, waiting for us. They both shook their heads and laughed as I got in the car and pulled my phone out of my pocket, while Lisa glared daggers at me the whole time. Zayn started the car and pulled away as I called Alpha Brandon’s number and told him that we were on our way and would be there soon. We drove for a couple of hours before stopping for gas, snacks and the bathroom, then took off again. In total the drive took a little over two hours and thirty minutes to get to Alpha Brandon’s territory and drive up to the large metal gates, where two guards were standing. I thought they would have stopped the car or at least checked who we were, but to my surprise they stepped aside and opened the gates.

  “Alpha Brandon is waiting for you, you may go through.” One of the guards said as we slowly drove through the gates. I nodded to them and we carried on driving. We drove past a huge field that looked like it was solely there for trees to grow, like they were trying to grow their own forest and I could have sworn I saw a bear in there, but I couldn’t be one hundred percent sure. I knew that werebears walked around these lands and even werecats, which was great because at least they would be safe to roam around freely. After ten minutes of driving we finally saw the driveway and then it took us another five minutes to get up to the house and park up outside. I looked at Lisa and saw the surprise on her face when she saw how big the pack house was. Well, what would you expect of someone who works for the mafia? I knew that was what she was thinking, but I also knew she would never say it out loud as she could and would never be disrespectful. We got out of the car and grabbed our bags, just as Alpha Brandon and Luna Carla walked over to us.

  “I’m glad you could finally make it. Leah should be home soon, she went out with some friends.” Alpha Brandon said, shaking my hand. I was a little nervous about meeting Leah, but I knew that once I saw her again I would know for sure that she was my mate and that in turn would also calm me down a little.

  “Alpha Kodi, my husband told me about the phone call you two had and I’m going to give you some advice. If you hurt my daughter I’ll rip your balls off and shove them up your ass. I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but you need to understand that’s my daughter and I’m a protective mother, okay.” Luna Carla said, threatening me and I quickly nodded. I had seen her fight and I knew how protective mothers were over their pups, so it made me more than a little scared to cross her.

  “Luna Carla, I understand, truly I do and I promise I do not have any intention of hurting your daughter. Alpha Brandon has told me that he would not tell her I am her mate, that she would have to find it out on her own and I both accept and appreciate that. You haven’t told her, have you?” I asked, looking at Alpha Brandon, wanting to clarify.

  “That is correct, If we tell her she would think that we are full of it and just brush it off as a joke, but she will find out in two days time when it's her birthday. Come on inside, we have your rooms ready.” Alpha Brandon replied and I nodded, but then I received an elbow to my ribs, reminding me of my manners.

  “Ow. sorry. Alpha Brandon, Luna Carla, this is my cousin Lisa and this is Scott and Zayn. Zayn is my Beta, Scott is my top warrior and Lisa is one of my top fighters.” I said, introducing them. Luna Carla raised an eyebrow at Lisa when I said about the top fighters, but all Lisa did was laugh.

  “No Luna Carla, I don’t fight like you do, I fight when there are rogues in our territory.” Lisa quickly said, knowing what Luna Carla was thinking.

  “Actually I wasn’t thinking that. I was thinking that if you were a fighter then maybe you could train with me in the gym tomorrow.” Luna Carla said and Lisa’s eyes lit up.

  “Wow, really? I would be honoured to train with you.” Lisa replied, smiling brightly. She had always liked to watch Luna Carla fight, but had missed her last few fights.

  “I’m usually up at seven every morning, so if you're up by then we’ll go to the gym.” Luna Carla replied, to which Lisa quickly nodded again. She was beginning to look like one of those nodding dogs you see in the back of cars, but I could understand it as she was meeting a celebrity in a way.

  “I’ll make sure I am.” Lisa replied and Luna Carla nodded.

  “Come on, I’ll show you to your rooms.” Alpha Brandon said and this time I nodded, following them inside.

  Leah’s P.O.V

  I was having so much fun with my friends, we all went to the mall and hung out with the rest of the kids, but soon enough it was time for us to head back home. It was getting late and mom had already mind-linked me to tell me that it was getting late, so we all got back into my Jeep and drove back home. Jersey and Bronx were standing up in the back, which seemed to be something they loved to do, while Sara and Judy were in the front with me. We were all singing along to the radio, but Judy was being a little too quiet and I really wasn’t sure why. I thought that she’d had fun tonight, but maybe she hadn’t. I wanted to ask her about it, but I kept hearing this buzzing noise in my head which was annoying me and making me lose my focus. Maybe mom knows what this is or has something for me that can help when I get home because this is just getting worse and worse with every passing minute and it's not only causing me a headache, it's causing me a migraine.
