Lucas spent the rest of the evening staring at the ceiling and listening to Lina’s steady breathing. He couldn't fathom how manipulative his mother was. He knew she was a strong woman, raising him alone in difficult times, but he never expected her to plot to break up his marriage so that she could have control of his life again.
