Chapter 17: Suicide.

It's been a week since Ray moved to the Academy. Their day is just going really great and normal. Until, In the Thursday night. A loud bang can be heard in the academy.

"What was that?"

Dream who was woken up by that loud bang, Immediately went to check on it. The sound is coming from outside the building. It seems like nobody noticed that bang other than Dream.

'Does anyone not think this is suspicious?'

Dream thought while running outside. As soon as he arrived to the place of the bang, He saw a man. A well built man. Both of his arms is a prosthetic arms.

"Hoo? There's someone already welcoming me?"

He said while turning to look at Dream.

"Who are you?"

Dream said. He immediately put his guard in case of surprise attack.

"My name is Gustavo Imanuel. I'm the leader of the Cult. You must be Dream right?"

Dream immediately let out an intense bloodlust.

"Die!"

Dream immediately grab Halberd of Ira and charged while swinging his Halberd Down.

Gustavo immediately block Dream halberd with his prosthetic arm. He then kick the side of Dream body.

Dream was flown to a tree. The tree knocked down by the impact from Dream body.

Dream let out more bloodlust that managed to wake everyone in the building up.

Dream charged at Gustavo once again. But this time, He uses his chains.

Dream swing his Chains around at Gustavo. Gustavo evaded all of Dream attack. Dream got furious and swing it violently.

"Hoo?"

Dream chains hits Gustavo. Gustavo immediately back out from the chains.

Dream charged at Gustavo and swing it again. The more Dream swing, The violent the swing are. Gustavo, Charged at Dream and kick his stomach.

"AGH!"

Blood spewed out from his mouth.

'That kick managed to make me vomited blood?! This is bad...'

As Dream was cleaning his mouth, Gustavo charged at him once again. This time, Gustavo pull his arm back and punch Dream. Dream punch Gustavo arm.

Dream hand cracked. The bone in his hand was obliterated.

'This is bad! This is bad!!'

Dream panicked. Gustavo charged at Dream. Dream can't do anything other than running.

Gustavo right arm, Shoot at Dream at a high speed.

"Wha?!"

Dream was hit right on his head by the rocket arm. Knocking him down. Dream immediately pull himself up.

The impact that he received on his head make his vision wobble.

Gustavo charged at Dream and punched him multiple times.

Right hook, Jab, Left hook, Uppercut, Jab, jab. That sequence of attack threw Dream across the ground.

'This is... The power of the leader?'

Dream realized. Finally, He grinned.

"Great! This is Great!"

"Hm, nonsense."

Gustavo charged at Dream. As he hit Dream right on the face, Dream cut the arm using the Halberd.

"Wha?!"

"It's true that both your power and speed is above me. But, I'm smarter. Let's see who's going to stand by the end of the night!"

Dream charged at Gustavo. With only one arm left, Gustavo jumped back. Dream swing his halberd down at Gustavo. Gustavo block it. Dream make the Halberd disappear. Immediately, He's glowing with orange light.

"Chaos Essence?!"

Dream, Pour all of his power into his left fist. He hit Gustavo face as hard as he could with it.

"ARGH!"

Gustavo was thrown by Dream to the side of the building.

Dream vanished. Gustavo immediately search for him. Suddenly, A kick hit him on the face. Busting through the wall of the Academy.

People were there watching him. Dream mounted Gustavo and punch the living hell out of Gustavo.

Each punch, Contain the power of 2 Chaos Essence. Even though His Right hand was shattered, Dream keep on smashing Gustavo.

"ARGH!"

Gustavo headbutted Dream. Dream evaded it and see that Gustavo arm was launching at him. Dream jumped.

"Tch. Now I'm at a disadvantage."

Gustavo said. Dream ignored it and Charged.

Gustavo charged back at Dream. He evaded Dream and slide through the hole.

"No you don't!"

Dream chains immediately grab his leg back. Dream follow that through with a kick to the head.

Gustavo is a really tough nut to c***k. Even after getting hit by Dream barrage of fist, He still alive.

"EAT THIS!"

Gustavo Pour all his heart and soul to the last fist. Dream grinned and let it punch his palm. The power flow through Dream body. Dream added all of his power into that already big power. Then, Using his leg, He kick Gustavo right at the chin. Knocking him all the way to the forest. The chains pull him back.

"This is the end!"

"Chains of Acedia Skill: World Judgement"

Chains started to appear from the ground. It wrapped around Gustavo tightly. And then, The base of it was forming a web of chains. Making sure that there's no way that Gustavo can escape from the chains.

"Dream!"

Lily and Elaine were running toward him. He saw that both of them is somewhat injured.

'There's more?!'

That thought immediately come to Dream.

Then from another side, Eis, Ray, July, Sylvie come running. They also have injuries.

"Thank god you guys are here."

The wobbly vision of Dream, Finally turned into a blurriness. Slowly, Dream was fallen into the darkness.

Dream passed out while holding the Chains. They immediately guarded Dream bodies while making sure that Gustavo is still passed out.

Not too long after that, Dream wake up. At the same time, Gustavo also wake up.

Dream tightened the chains.

"Well... I guess I failed."

Gustavo said. Elaine immediately ask him.

"What are you guys goal here?"

Gustavo smiled and said.

"To Kidnap Dream Enpierce."

Everyone was shocked hearing that.

"Why do you want to kidnapped him?"

Elaine ask once again. But, Gustavo slowly go limping. His eyes turned all white.

"Tch. Suicide huh."

"It seems so..."

Knowing that fact, Elaine was furious. Which mean, that the people they defeated before this is also dead. No information can be stolen from them.

Dream immediately given a potion by Lily. She also gave it to everyone that was injured.

Dream immediately drank all of it. All of his injuries immediately healed.

"Miss. Who is this man?"

"He's Gustavo. He's a leader of the Group in the cult called Assault. He's also one of the higher ups in the Cult."

"That's Great then. I defeated the higher up by myself."

Dream was almost lost when he was fighting Gustavo. He learn from the fight to never let your anger control your fight. But, It also a great source to make Halberd of Ira more stronger.

"Haa... It's 3 AM and I'm really tired... I can't sleep because of this adrenaline."

"Let's go hangout at the Student Council."

The students immediately went back to their room. Dream and the rest went to the Student council to play.

That night, Was remembered by the students as 'Dream Annihilation.' Where Dream annihilated the leader of a certain cult.

After they were playing in the student council room, They realized that it was 8 AM already. They immediately went back to their room to prepare for class.

"That was really a tiring night..."

Dream mumbled. He was in the classes and his face is on the table. He really wanted to get some sleep. But, The class is started. Lily and Ray also look really dead inside. Elaine come in also with a dead eyes.

"Students... Let's go to the field. Train there with your partner..."

Everyone went to the field. As soon as they arrived there, Dream, Lily, Ray and Elaine immediately sleep in the chair.

The classmates let them sleep because they knew that they don't get enough sleep. With just 1 hour of sleep, They go back to their usual self.

Dream, Lily, And Ray was fighting together. They look like they were training for the incoming tournament that will be held in another Academy.

And their opponent is Julius, Jasmine, Aiko, Krim and Erika. 5 people.

Obviously, The winner is Dream and the others. But, It really a good training for them.

"Dream. Come here."

Elaine called Dream.

"Yes Miss. What can I do?"

"There's a mission for you. This is a Solo mission. Interested?"

"Can I hear it?"

"So, I want to take the school to a Dungeon. But, There's no official dungeon near here. But, There's a hidden dungeon near Nova. So, I want you to check it out. How is that?"

"Sure. I'll do it. Tell me the place."

Elaine tell Dream the location. Apparently, There's a Cave near the forest. No one know what inside because it's to eerie for normal person to go in. But, It's a dungeon according to Elaine. Presence of monster can be feel inside.

"Search about it tomorrow. Next week, We're going to have a test there."

"Yes miss!"

Dream went back to Lily and Ray. Tomorrow will be an interesting adventure.

"So Dream. Where are you going?"

Lily ask. They're currently talking in His room alone.

"I'm going to a dungeon by myself. Miss Elaine gave me the honor to checking it first."

"Really? I'm envious. I want to go there too."

"Well, don't worry. Next week we're going to go there. I'm just going to check it a little. I'm not going to explore the whole dungeon by myself. Probably."

"What do you mean Probably? Don't explore it to the end. Leave some for us too."

"Alright don't worry. I will."

After that little chat, Lily went back to her room. Dream immediately went to sleep.

The next day, Dream immediately went to the forest.

'According to Miss Elaine, I need to ran 30 km that way. Which mean it will take at least 15 minutes.'

Dream went faster to match the time he was thinking.

"So this is it huh? It's certainly eerie..."

The cave is have the same feeling of that Hidden Legacy. It's like it was sucking in the people that was outside the cave to go into the cave. The cave is lit with a blue shining rock.

"Certainly, This is a track of a beast."

Dream observe the ground. There's a track of a 4 legged animal. A dry blood is also smearing all over the ground.

"I'm excited to see what's inside."

Without any hesitation and fear, Dream immediately step inside the Cave.

For the first minute that Dream walking in, There's nothing. But, As he went more deeper, Suddenly, A wolf jumped at him.

"GAU!"

"So the first monster is Wolf."

Dream let out a bloodlust that scares the Wolf. It ran deeper to the caves.

Dream walk deeper to the cave. He encounter more monster. Treant, Slime, Giant Snakes.

Dream stopped his journeys after 5 hour of exploring.

"There's no end of this cave. The boss of the dungeon seems to be deeper. It's a waste if I go there by myself and slay it. Let's go back outside. If I go any deeper, I won't be able to see anything."

Dream immediately walked back toward the surface. Another 5 hour passed. No monster went to attack him. Like a bug repellant, His bloodlust keep the monster away.

"It's dark already. Let's go back quickly."

Dream immediately ran with his full speed to the academy.

He went to Elaine office first.

"Miss, I got a report for you."

"Dream? That's fast. What you got?"

"So The Cave have a blue light that illuminate the inside. The monster that I encounter is Wolf, Treant, Slime, Snakes. There's probably a lot of monster that I haven't discovered yet. But, The time is short and, I don't want to go there by myself. I would rather explore it with everyone."

"Alright Dream. Good work."

"Thank you miss!"

After done greeting Elaine, Dream immediately went to take a bath. Then he go to the cafeteria to have dinner with Lily.

Dream and Lily talk about the Dungeon. When Dream tell Lily about it, She get really excited.

"Haa... That's was tiring..."

Total of 10 hours in the cave. It was obvious that Dream was  tired. When he lay down on the bed, He immediately fall asleep.

1 Week passed. The Academy immediately went to the Dungeon as a one big group. With Dream and Elaine leading them to the Dungeon.

It took them 2 hours of walking before they finally arrived at the entrance of the Cave.

There's around 270 students in total. And everyone will go inside the cave at once.

The cave is pretty big inside. It can hold 270 people and still have a lot of room left. So they don't need to worry if something bad happen. They can run immediately.

As usual, Dream and Elaine will be acting as a guide to the Dungeon. Dream pretty much know what inside the dungeon already. So he doesn't need to do the test.

"Still, I want to fight too miss..."

"No. I let you fight the boss so, Don't take everyone portion."

"Well, I suppose I could hold myself back."

Class by Class. Finally, They went deep enough where Dream hasn't explore yet. They already spent 8 hours. Because Dream remember the path, They don't have any trouble like encountering a dead end and waste their time.

The deeper they go to the cave, The denser the population of the monster is. Almost every corner have monsters in them. Which made testing the class a whole lot of easier.

Finally, They arrived at a giant gate. The gate was made out of unknown metal. Dream was excited seeing it.

"Dream. This is your test. Kill the boss of the dungeon by yourself."

"Eh? I thought I don't have any test?"

"Well, I change my mind. So, go kill it!"

"Alright then."

'If the door is this big, The boss must be really big in size too right?'

Dream thought.

He kick the door. It slowly falling down. The ground shook after it hit the ground.

And in the room, There's a giant tree monster.

"A Treant!"

It slowly turning toward Dream. It immediately punch toward Dream. Slowly, It approaching closer and closer to the group. They fell into a panic after seeing a giant tree punching their way.

Dream jumped and activate his Leviathan Mark. People were wondering what was glowing on Dream back.

Dream, Put his palm right in front of the fist of the treant. Then, A high pressured water, Burst from his palm. Knocking the Punch of the treant back.

Then, Right at the base of the arm of the treant, A saw made from water was spinning. It spins in a crazy high speed and launch to the arm. Cutting it cleanly.

Then, Dream swing his arm to the side. At the same time, The saw move to the head of the treant. It cut the head cleanly.

People thought it was over. But, The pieces of the Treant grow into a forest. Making a small treant.

"Well, Isn't this annoying?"

"I can't kill you if you keep multiplying. I guess I have to use that."

Dream was mumbling to himself. He immediately thought something really cool.

He walked toward the crowd and immediately take of his uniform.

"D-Dream?!"

Lily said in shock. As Dream take off his clothes, It was revealed that He also wear a wet suit.

"Oh. Wait, Why are you wearing that?!"

"I want to play with Leviathan a bit~"

Dream answer Lily question immediately. It was clear what Dream intention was.

He told Lily to hold all of his clothes.

"Well then. Let's start!"

In an instant, The room is filling up with water. Elaine immediately put a barrier to block any water from going out.

People was really shocked when seeing Dream in the room that filled with water.

When the water in the room is at hip level, Dream stop the water. Immediately he called the Leviathan.

"GUSHAA"

The Glorious Sea lord emerged from the water as it roar at the Treants.

People were amazed by the Leviathan.

"Now then, Leviathan. Blast them with a high pressured Water Breath."

"Gusha!"

From all three heads, They let out a really high pressure Water. It blast every treants that stand in the way.

"Great job Leviathan!"

"Gusha!"

Then Leviathan go back to Dream. Dream immediately make the water whirl into one spot. Then, The water become one big ball that contains wood and leaves.

"The Treants still alive? This wood prick is so annoying."

Dream immediately grab his Halberd. The halberd was covered by a black mist.

"Eat this. Halberd of Ira skill: Black Crush!"

Dream swing his halberd into the water. The water turned pure black and immediately disappear.

"Well, I guess that's it."

Dream went back to the crowd who is screaming at Dream.

"Geez, You guys are too loud."

Dream said to himself.

Lily walked toward Dream and gave him his uniform. Dream take out every drops of water in the wet suits. Making it instantly dry. Dream wear his uniform back and they go out no problem.

After they get out, They immediately set a giant sleeping site. It's already midnight by the time they got out and almost all of the students look like they were in the verge of passing out. So, Elaine told everyone to take out their sleeping bag.

They sleep peacefully and the next morning, They went back to the academy. On the way, There's nothing really happening to the group. So, It's a peaceful journey.

As soon as the group arrived at the Academy. They dispersed to their own classroom.

Dream stop by the cafeteria to buy some drinks before he go to the class. Then he group back with Lily and Ray.

"Ray, How is Cid and the others doing? It's been a while since I seen them."

Dream ask Ray. Knowing that Ray is close to Cid, They should have contacted each other every other day.

"Yeah, They're doing great. The training seems to be fine without me. Cid says that They work really hard so that they can match up to our level of playing."

Ray said with a slight smile on his face. It shows that Ray is proud with the team he have now.

"I see. That's great. Unlike us who is fortunate to get in this Academy, They seems like they're not a fighter. So, I'm glad that they're working hard toward what they're aiming to do."

Dream smiled. Seeing that, Lily also smiled.

They enjoy their time together in the class while waiting for the result of the test. Despite the loudness of the class, The air feels heavy. Everyone is worried about the result of the test. After all, The one who grade their fight is Elaine herself.

If they failed the test, They will have to do something with Elaine. And that's what people are worried about.

"Dream, Are you okay? Shouldn't you be worried about the test right now?"

Lily asked Dream. It seems like even Lily doesn't sure that she can pass the test easily.

"Eh? Why should I? I'm pretty sure that we pass. Right Ray? You're sure too right?"

Dream said awkwardly. He then redirected that question to Ray.

"To be honest Dream, I'm not really sure about it too... The reason why I'm not sure is you. Your fight with the boss make our fight with the monsters look like a child play."

Dream look away from Lily and Ray. They stares at Dream who doesn't realize that he's the reason why everyone is so worried.

"W-Well, Let's not talk about that now! Ah! I have something urgent. See you guys later!"

In panic, Dream left the class with a hurry to somewhere.

Lily and Ray look at each other awkwardly and sighed. They stand up and chased after Dream.

After a while, They managed to catch Dream and go back to the class. Coincidentally, Elaine is also inside the class.

"Welcome back you Three. Now, I'm going to announce the people who passed the test. So, go back to your seat."

"Yes Miss!"

The atmosphere in the class become really heavy. People were nervous. They were hoping that they passed the test.

Especially Dream. He was hoping that his friends passes this test so that they wouldn't blame him later. Elaine started to talk.

"Alright. In this class. The one who passes the test is. Dream Enpierce, Lily Woodrow, Ray Ioda, Krim Ioda, Jasmine Yan, Julius Massle. That's it."

Dream sighed in relieve after hearing the name he recognize. Those who the name got called, Look relieved. But, Those who didn't look worried.

"Now. For those that didn't pass. You need to work extra hard~ All of you that doesn't pass, Come to the field at 5 PM. I'm going to train every single one of you."

"EH!!!"

"Ah... The scream of pain. Sorry everyone..."

Dream muttered after seeing the situation of the class.

After School, Dream, Lily and Ray meet up with the rest of the student council. They talk about what's been going on in their classes.

"In our class, Other than us, There really aren't that many who passed. And I thought that they were fighting really well."

Eis said. July and Sylvie Nodded.

"Well, I don't know if it because of me that they failed or, The test is that hard..."

Dream said awkwardly. Eis immediately answer him.

"It's the test that really hard. Don't blame yourself for the other failure."

Hearing Eis saying that, Lily and Ray also joined in.

"Yeah~ Don't blame yourself~"

"Yup Yup. Definitely not your fault~"

Lily and Ray said with a mocking voice.

"Stop it. I don't want to hear it from you guys."

Dream said with a voice that told people that he was annoyed. He was getting a little bit mad at the both of them because of their attitude.

"Well, Since all of us here passed, How about we go somewhere this weekend? We can go to the mall and do some shopping!"

Eis said excitedly. The rest of the girls immediately said.

"Yes! That's a great Idea!"

Eis looked at the boys and ask.

"How about it, Ray, Dream?"

"Sure. We could do that. Right Dream?"

"Yeah. Let's go to the mall this weekend."

Dream and Ray doesn't know what would they encounter in the Mall. But, It's not a good one for them.

Dream and Ray decided to hang out for a little bit after the meeting. They go to the gym to throw some punches at each other.

"I'm ready Ray!"

"Alright then!"

"3, 2, 1"

Dream counted down. After 1, They charged at each other. Ray swing his right arm toward Dream. Dream launch his left leg to counter Ray.

The impact from their attack is strong enough to launch each other Arm and Leg back.

Dream use this opportunity to get as low as possible and charged at Ray. Ray noticed what Dream want to do. So, He also get as low as possible.

Dream and Ray clashes. Both of them Try to grapple each other.

Throw, Blow, Lock, Grapple. They changes attack at each other. Nothing seems to be effective for the both of them.

Desperate that his plan doesn't work on Ray, Dream changes his plan immediately.

He takes some distance from Ray. He will depend on his own martial arts style rather than using Grappling.

Ray focused on his defenses. He doesn't know what Dream is up to so, The best thing to do is to Defense.

Dream slightly bend his body forward before he takes his steps.

"Dream Style: Stealthy Steps."

"Light as a feather."

Before Ray own eyes, Dream vanished. There's no sound or anything. But, Ray vision is at another level. He notices the slight movement on the side.

'He notices me?!'

Dream was surprised at that. Stealthy Steps is a technique that he stole from Eita and Kurou but, it was elevated to a whole new level of stealth. Only a small percentage of people can see this movement.

And apparently, Ray is one of them.

With Stealthy steps figured out, Dream plan to strike him from his blind spot was busted.

"I can't use it as effective as I want it on Ray. No choice."

"What are you trying to do Dream?"

Even though he figured out Dream technique, Ray still unsure of what Dream intention is. Wrong move, He could lose. So, Ray tried to be as careful as possible.

Suddenly, Dream charged at Ray. Ray can see Dream. He try to swing his arm toward Dream. The arm hit Dream. But, It immediately dispersed to the atmosphere.

"What?!"

Ray still dumbfounded by that. Dream take this chance and sneak up behind him. He put his hand on Ray shoulder. He swing his leg toward Ray legs. Ray was falling to the back.

"Dream Style: Cloud Nine."

With just enough power, Dream kick Ray on the back and sent him flying.

Then, Dream jumped to follow up his attack. He jump at an perfect angle to kick Ray torso.

"Dream Style: Meteor Drop."

Dream kick Ray right on the torso and sent him falling to the ground in an incredible speed.

Before his back touch the ground, Ray clench his body at a perfect timing to reduce the pain.

"Ray Style: Iron Skin."

Then, Ray immediately stand back up. As Dream was falling to the ground, Ray charged at Dream.

Ray swing his fist with all his might toward Dream.

But Dream. Calmly and slowly. Moved slightly to the side and moved his hand to Ray fist.

"Dream Style: Flowing River"

As Ray fist coming closer to Dream face, Dream immediately let his hand guide Ray fist away from his face.

"What?!"

Using that chance, Dream deliver the last hit. A knee to the stomach."

"AGH!"

Ray fall down to the ground. He wasn't expecting that last technique. He forgot to use his Iron Clad to Reduce the damage from a knee straight from Dream.

"That was a nice fight Ray."

Dream said while smiling.

"Good Job Dream."

Ray said while smiling also. Dream grab Ray hand and Pull him up. After the fight, Both of them go to the Cafeteria to eat something.

After eating, Dream goes back to his room to take a bath and sleep.
