Chapter 10: Destroying the Competition.

After Dream discover the betrayal of Eis, He doesn't even consider to talk to her anymore.

Yesterday result was clear. Eis was defeated by Anta. It shocked everyone that watch it. As they see the Ice princess does almost nothing. It's not like Eis does nothing, It's just like Every time she does something, Anta already counter it. It immediately become quite the topic in the Academy.

The Ice Princess Lost. Everyone thought that was the truth. Dream was hearing that left and right. He felt really disgusted every time people talk about it. Even Elaine thought that was the truth.

And Now, It's time for Dream and Lily to shine. They haven't talk about their strategy at all. Every time Lily said something to Dream, Dream doesn't respond. It's like he doesn't even care anymore. She was wondering what is happening to Dream. But, It became clear that Dream was planning to crush the competition. Lily just went along with him.

Even though she doesn't know why, She felt like it was appropriate for her to follow his lead.

Is it because of yesterday stomachache that he can't focus? Nobody knows.

It's their first match against other team. From the other school, They sent their strongest pair. The announcer hypes everyone up.

As Dream and Lily comes in, The whole arena went silent. Everyone seems to recognize who they are.

The announcer talking but, Dream doesn't care. He ignored any sound and only focused on winning. Lily looked really confused of Dream action.

Both of them Took their stance. Seeing that, Lily use her Katana. Dream doesn't do anything. He only look at his opponent with a cold eyes.

They shuddered. Something was out to kill them. The bell rang. They immediately charged at the direction of Dream and Lily. Lily also started to move. But, Faster than everyone in the arena, Dream already charged. He grabbed the neck of his opponents. He choked them in an instant.

The whole arena is silent. That silent is break once the Announcer said.

"THE WINNER IS, DREAM AND LILY!"

Then they started to cheer. Lily look terrified by Dream action. She wants to confront Dream about his action. But, She saw his states and immediately lose her courage to do so. As he went back. He walk slowly. It's like he was saying, 'I'm the strongest. It's futile to fight me.'

Finally, He disappear inside the arena. Lily decided to talk about it to Elaine.

In a place far away from the Arena, There's two figures. They were sitting facing each other.

"Miss, I'm scared of Dream..."

"What happened Lily?"

It's Lily and Elaine. She stated her worries about Dream action.

"You know, Dream started to act weird. Yesterday he seems normal. After he went out because of his stomach, He became like this the next day."

"Really? I saw him yesterday. And He act really weird too. I'm sorry about this but, I don't have any clues..."

Lily started to become more worried. If Dream become like that, No one can stop him. Even the Protector is powerless in front of him if he want to.

"Then, There's still a lot of time until our next match. Can you go tailing Dream with me?"

Lily suggested. Elaine immediately nodded and say.

"Alright. I will go with you. Now, Let's go!"

Both Lily and Elaine immediately search for Dream.

"Ah, There he is!"

After searching for him, They saw him sitting around near the park. He take his time alone in there.

Lily and Elaine really hide their presence. Dream can sense them from very far away if they don't do that.

Then they hear something from Dream own mouth. It's something that they can't forget.

"Should I quit the academy?"

It make both Lily and Elaine shock. Lily try to walk toward him but Elaine stop her.

"Don't. Let him be for now. We might be able to hear his reason if we stay silent!"

Elaine said. Lily nodded and hide once again. Dream started to talk again.

"I'm afraid that other people might betray us again. Like Eis did. I can take it if other started to betray me. Especially Lily. If She betray me, It will hit me harder than anyone."

Both of them fell in shock.

"What?... Eis betrayed us?"

Elaine said. Lily look at her and said.

"Miss, should we talk to him?"

Lily asked Elaine for answer. But, Dream talked.

"No need. I know you guys are here. That's why I started talking in the first place."

Both of them fell silent. From the very start, Dream already know that Lily and Elaine is there. So he decided to told them the truth.

"Dream... What exactly happen? Can you tell us?"

Elaine started to walk toward Dream. Lily is following behind her.

"You know, Yesterday. I noticed that traitor, Eis going somewhere. There's something not right on her face. So I decided to fake my stomachache and follow her. I saw her talking to Anta. Anta pay her to throw the match so he can win. Then, I decide to keep that information to myself. As a reminder to never trust anyone. So, I'm considering to quit Academy so I can go back to my hometown. And just live there. As a normal person."

Dream said with a very serious tone. It shocked Elaine and Lily hearing all of that information.

"Eis betrayed us? For 1 million Rue? And That made you lose your faith against everyone."

"Yes you're correct miss..."

"But that's not a reason to quit. Trust me Dream. We're going to take care of that traitor. I will teach her a lesson. So, Please don't quit."

Elaine said. Then Lily said.

"Dream... Don't leave me alone. You're the only person that I can talk to freely. There's no other person I trust more than you. So Please trust us as well..."

Dream fell in silent hearing that.

"Will you promise me that you won't betray me?"

Dream said with a serious tone. Elaine and Lily finally started to see a way. A way for Dream to comeback to them.

"Yes. We promise that we won't ever betray you."

Said Both Elaine and Lily.

"Alright then. I won't leave. So, Leave me alone for now. I want to meditate so I can get my mind. Call me when the match is almost started."

"Alright!"

Lily and Elaine walked off happily.

"What do you say about that? Anne? I know you were there from the very beginning."

From the shadow, There's a woman walking out. She's Dream former teacher. She's from the 10 Bringer. It's Anne.

"Oya? Dream... Don't need to be so wary you know. Have you feel it yet? The taste of despair from a betrayal?"

Anne said while grinning. Dream looked at her sharply.

"I have. And I already recovered. No matter how hard you try to make me fall to the dark side, As long as Lily and Miss Elaine there, You can make me!"

Dream said with full confidence.

"Then, Shall I kill both of them?"

Hearing that, Dream let out an intense bloodlust.

"I DARE YOU TO TRY! TOUCH THEM AND I WILL KILL YOU."

"Oh, Scary~ I will let you go this time~ If you change your mind, tell me okay! If you ever lose your faith against humanity, This is the place you go to~ Because we don't believe in what you called H-u-m-a-n-i-t-y~"

Anne disappear.

"I won't go to that side! To the side I despised. As long as I have my comrade around me, I can't fall to the dark side!"

'Don't worry master. We won't let you!'

Yoga said. Dream chuckled.

"Thanks. I will count on you if I ever fall to the dark side!"

'Aye master!'

Then, the tube where Dream keep his ear piece started to vibrate. He put on the Ear piece.

"Hello?"

"Ah, Dream. The match is almost started. Go back now."

"Alright!"

Dream smiled hearing Lily voice and went back quickly.

"Now, It's the second match of the Unstoppable duo. Welcome, DREAM AND LILY!"

The announcer said. It make the watcher hyped. Dream and Lily walked with a champion aura. They step in lightly and quick.

Their opponent walked in. They try to intimidate Dream and Lily. But instead get intimidated by them.

The Bell Rang. Dream and Lily made their move.

Dream sweep his leg and make his opponent stumble. He then kick him on the stomach.

Dream Style: Cloud Nine.

Then he jumped toward the man. He grabbed his collars and swing him down to the ground.

Dream Style: Fallen Angel.

Lily instantly vanished and appear with her arm on her opponent chest.

Instantly, Her opponent flew away. After he hit the ground, He spewed out blood.

Lily Original: Energy Blast.

With that, They went to the third round.

"Great job Lily!"

"Great job Dream."

Lily look really happy when she saw Dream at least already back to his normal state. But She felt kind of different. She started to look at Dream differently. She doesn't know what it is.

Lily went back to the room while Dream went back to the park to collect all of his mind once again.

"Fu.... I wonder what's wrong with me? I get so hot when I'm near Dream... Should I ask Miss Elaine about it?"

Lily muttered. She doesn't know what that feeling is. She only know that she became like that after the promise she made with Dream. So she decided to go to Elaine.

"Do you know that miss?"

Lily ask. She already explain what she currently felt.

Elaine chuckled with a rosy cheeks.

"Well Lily. That's what you called Love. When you felt like that toward Dream, That means you love him."

"Huh?!"

Lily scream with a red cheeks.

"L-Love?! I'm in love with him?!"

"Yeah. Why are you so shocked? Isn't Dream handsome and Strong? I bet everybody have a feeling toward him."

"Well, Yeah... But Isn't this bad for me though? It would hurt me if he doesn't feel the same as me..."

"Don't worry. I'm pretty sure that boy love you too. So Just keep being on his side. I promise sooner or later he will confess his feeling to you. Or do you want to confess your feeling toward him?"

"What do you think miss? Should I?"

"You Should. Just confess to him if you find the time. I know he will accept you. Ah, But please do it after the tournament is over."

After confirming with Elaine, Lily went back to the room with Dream on her mind.

"Who's our opponent after this..."

Dream muttered.

"I hope they are strong and give a fight."

He keep muttering his hope. He feels so bored now that he's alone. So he decided to go on top of the tree and lay there. As he wait for the next call from Lily.

He doesn't get any call. As he goes back to the Arena, Julius comes up to him.

"Dream, You already won. The next team that are supposed to fight you surrender before even fight you."

"So, I'm already on the final?"

"Yes. The final is held later. I think there's still 2 hours before final."

"I see, Thank Julius!"

"Don't worry!"

Julius went back inside as for Dream, He go to sleep at his room at the Academy.

In the end, There's nobody have the courage to fight Lily and Dream. So They automatically win.

So for 3 vs 3. Dream and Lily doesn't know how to approach it. It's stated by the rule that Everyone must attend. So, They are pretty sure that Eis wouldn't come because of Anta. So, Dream thought that if he killed Eis, Other can join as a substitute. But, Elaine and Lily stopped his plan.

They slightly panicked after hearing that Dream want to kill Eis for ruining the tournament. Fortunately, Lily managed to calm him down and Elaine will find a way to make it possible.

"Damn it. I need to find the truth about Eis... Does she really betray us? Or is something is pulling string behind the scene... Anne... I know she is the one behind this. Or else, How would she know about Eis betrayal? If she's not the one who make her do that..."

Dream think that Eis betrayal because Anne brainwashed her. After all, Anne title is manipulator after all...

"Now I felt bad because I thought Eis really does it on her own. Anne, You bastard. Taking advantage of people around me to make me fell to despair. I'm sorry Eis... I'm gonna kill that woman for doing that to me."

Dream quickly found out the answer. After that, He felt really guilty about Eis.

"I know that She won't do something like that on her own. I think Miss Elaine noticed it too. Oh my god... What have I done..."

Dream immediately went back to the Arena to see Elaine. He wanted to know if she already know about the whole thing.

"Finally you come to your sense... The thing is. You know that our Student Council Vice president is on another school right?"

"Yeah. Don't tell me!"

"Yup! His name is Anta. Anta Loman. I gave him a task to search the Blue Sky academy for any information about the 10 bringer. Now, You probably wondering. Why is they talking like that. It's sound so genuine. Right?"

Elaine said before Dream couldn't even ask. It's on point. Dream wanted to know how does the conversation look so genuine. The Deal they made look really real. It even Trick Dream.

"You know, 10 Bringer is lurking around the arena. So I made sure to make them look like that. They were actually targeting you Dream. When they were talking like that, Anta report to me that a woman called Anne is approaching him and strike a deal with Eis. So I told him to accept."

Dream slowly but surely getting all of the information in his brain.

"I made sure that Eis look a really different. So that you would follow her and hear their conversation. You fell into despair seeing the people you respected play dirty. I'm planning to make you fell even deeper so that The moment we came to save you, It would become so much different. But then Lily noticed it. So I decided to go save you quicker."

Dream fell in silent.

"Sorry about that. I also know that Anne visit you after we left. If we late to talk to you at that time, You might go with her instead with us."

Dream looked down to the ground. It's true that if Lily doesn't approach him at that time and Instead, Anne is the one who approach him. Dream would be easily swayed to go to 10 Bringer. And The Chaos would be revived immediately. But, Because of Lily noticing it, He finally walk toward a bigger and brighter path. Instead of the Darker path.

"Well, That's took all the worry in me. Don't worry miss. I'm going to bring us victory."

Dream said with full confidence. The light on his eyes goes back. The Despair that linger in his head vanished. With just knowing the truth, Dream finally back on his path. Now, Even brighter than before.

"I can't be fooled anymore. And I won't be. Thank you miss!"

Dream said as he went back out.

"You heard that right? You don't need to worry about Dream anymore."

As Elaine said that two people walk out from the shadow.

"Yeah..."

"I still felt bad for the boy though... Moreover, You just save our lives there..."

It's Eis and Anta. The president and Vice president of the Million Years Academy Student Council.

"No need to worry about him. As long as he have us, He won't fall to the 10 Bringer. He also have become stronger now. His mind is stronger. The speed he have to think and reach the truth is also improved. No need to worry. Just act normally around him. I bet he noticed already."

"Yes. Thank you."

"Sorry for the trouble miss!"

Eis and Anta walk out the room.

She watch through the window and see Dream is walking with a smile. She smiled looking at it.

"Now that's the misunderstanding is gone, I can rest easy now."

Elaine sat down at the couch and drink her tea.

"Well, That's not what I thought. But, It's still great knowing that Anta is actually our vice president. Thank god that Lily is there for me. I'm thankful to have her in my life."

Dream said while staring at the blue sky. Then he stared back down to the ground.

"That's the sun... I'm almost went blind..."

Yup... He does something stupid.

Finally, Day three comes. It's the last day of the tournament. It's the day most people are excited. It's the time fore 3 vs 3. It's going to be chaos on the arena.

And Dream team is really excited about it. Lily and Eis is excited because it's their first fight together after Dream recovery. And Dream is excited to fight alongside Lily and Eis.

They are together in the Academy gym to train a little bit. Dream said that he was a little bit tense. So he want to relax a bit.

"Damn this feels good! After a few days of despair and anger. It's finally time to go crazy once again!"

Dream said while jumping. Lily and Eis look at each other weirdly.

"So what are we going to do now?"

Lily ask. Dream look at her and said.

"I don't know. I just want to go crazy with my movement."

Hearing that, They got more confused.

"What do you mean Crazy movement?"

"This!"

Dream jumps around while moving. It create a sense of randomness on his movement. Allowing his attack to be more random. He can do a lot of attack move in every form.

"Now, Try and attack me."

Dream said. Lily and Eis nodded and let out a multiple attack. They swing their sword in a random tempo and random form.

Dream evaded all of the attack smoothly.

"Yup! That was great. For my last warm up."

Dream change his movement. He started to move like his usual move. He loosened up his arm and finger.

"Halberd of Ira."

Seeing Dream grab his Halberd of Ira, Lily and Eis started to wondering what he was gonna do. He grabbed the Halberd closer to the end of the handle. Then Lily and Eis know what he was going to do.

"Dream? can you stop?"

"If you do that before the tournament, It's going to be bad for you right?"

Dream looked at them and smiled.

"Don't worry. This is an Improvement."

"Dream Ultimate: Sky Eater"

As he swing his arm down, He use the magic inside his body to flow with his power. He use his body strengthening to make his arm stronger. The power that flow inside his body flow toward his arm. As the halberd goes down, He put more magic and power into his arm.

Breaking the Barrier in an instant. His arm doesn't shattered. It's because the his arm that get strengthened by the magic is strong enough to take the impact. So He can do Sky Eater as much as he want now.

"That's awesome..."

Lily muttered.

"How about that? I finally do what I said to do before."

"It's cool."

Dream finally fulfil his challenge that he got from Lily about Using Sky Eater without breaking an arm.

"Now both of you. Let's go back to the Arena."

Eis said. Dream and Lily looked at her and said.

"Yes President."

They walked toward the Arena.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. It's time for the last day. It's going to be the 3 vs 3. The first time that going to fight is Team Million Years and Team Blue Sky B!"

Each team walked into the arena. As soon as Dream and the other appear, The Crowd went wild. Each team looked at each other eyes.

The other Team is pointing toward Dream, Lily and Eis. It's like they were picking their enemy. Dream is shocked seeing that confidence.

"Asking me to be your opponent? You are dead meat!"

Dream said while looking at them.

"Lily, President. I'm going first!"

"...Sure!"

"Okay."

It's a 3 vs 3 fight. But Dream decided that he would make it interesting by going alone. The other team doesn't look happy seeing that. They prepared their stance and weapon.

The bell rang. They charged toward Dream. Dream take his Halberd of Ira out and swing it toward the other team. It doesn't even touch them. But the shock wave that was sent out by the Halberd is enough to push them flying out of the arena.

They work with each other to go inside the arena before they touch the ground.

"Hoo! Impressive!"

"We are not done yet!"

Said one of the man on the other team.

"No! We are done playing..."

Said Dream. They realize that Dream is already circled around them. As they turn their body. Dream hit them in a flash. They immediately passed out and drop to the floor.

"THE WINNER IS! TEAM MILLION YEARS!"

They announced the winner. The crowd goes crazy after seeing the other team get annihilated in an instant.

"Great job~"

Said Lily and Eis.

"Now, My job is done. It's you two left!"

"Well... It's bad because it should be you that fight last. Because the strongest is left."

"Ah! You're right..."

Dream immediately looked down.

"Don't worry. We can fight together in the last fight. Let's go have lunch"

Instead of make Dream worried even more, Lily suggested that they eat first. Everyone agree and they headed to a restaurant.

"So... Why are you guys together?"

As they sat down on their table, Dream saw Julius and Aiko together. So he decide to talk to them a bit.

"We just having lunch together. We are planning to watch your match together."

It's like Julius and Aiko doesn't even try to hide their relationship.

"So you guys really dating?"

Dream ask to Julius and Aiko.

"Yeah. We have been dating for almost 3 years now. So, We don't really hide it."

"Is that so? I never thought that you have a girlfriend. Aiko, Sorry I always beat up Julius!"

"Yeah don't worry! It's a sight to see too. Seeing Julius getting beat up by you."

Dream went back to his seat and order his food.

"So, Did Julius Really dating?"

"Yeah... I have this feeling that I have lost to him..."

"Well.."

After confirming Julius and Aiko, the atmosphere felt slightly awkward.

They decided to eat their food and not say anything.

Suddenly, they hear a terrifying voice. But for Dream, It's a very familiar voice. It's a Screech. A lot of screech.

A really intense bloodlust can be feel from the whole Nova. It's make Lily and Eis shudder in fear. And for Dream. He just act normally.

"Dream... How can you be okay after feeling that?"

Ask Lily. Dream smiled and said.

"I faced death face to face before. And the cause of it is the same creature as the one who let out this bloodlust. So I know that no matter how many the creature are. I can win."

"Really? Are we going to be okay?"

"Yeah. I'm going first! Talk to Miss Elaine if you want to know about the creature!"

Dream vanished from their eyes.

"Eh?"

Even Lily can't believe what happened.

"Anne... What are you planning now?!"

Dream muttered.

"Sending a bunch of ants to Nova. I have a bad feeling about this."

Dream continued. He get worried thinking that this will be another m******e. The Ant is a ferocious creature that Anne controlled. Even Dream almost get killed when he doesn't have Yoga.

Dream went to the Arena to warn everyone there. But, By the time he got there. Everyone already evacuate.

"Damn that Bloodlust must be so intense. It can be feel from here too..."

After making sure that the arena is empty. Dream went back to the center of the city of Nova. In the middle of the city of Nova, The bloodlust is the most intense.

And Dream waited for presence of the Ant. As people were running down the street searching for a safer place. Dream make sure that no one is left behind. Then, A flying creature can be seen all over the city. And they headed toward one space. The Middle of the city. Coincidentally, it's the area where Dream currently are.

"Now you bastards. You really want to go with you huh..."

Dream muttered. As he look at the Ant going toward him. There's hundreds of them surrounding Dream. Weirdly enough, They don't attack other people. They only confronted Dream.

Dream take a deep breath.

"If I'm going out, I'm going out with a bang!"

Dream said while smiling.

"Yoga. Chain of Acedia."

'Aye master!'

Yoga. Turned into a chain that wrapped around his hands.

As Dream walked toward the army of ants. He noticed a person falling from the sky. She have a white wing on her back.

"Lily?!"

"Dream!"

She landed back down safely.

"What is that wing?"

"This is Gava! His second form. Wing of Caritas!"

Dream look at her wing in amazement.

"Then. Shall we go and clean up the ants?"

"Let's go!"

They talk like they were cleaning up a trash. With Dream Chains and Lily Wings. They advanced quickly.

Dream take care of the front and the left while Lily take care of the rest.

Dream swing his chains down. Then he pull himself to the Chains. Then he swing his chain to all the direction. He spin it around making a tornado of chains. Green liquid spewed out everywhere.

"Chain of Acedia Special: Chain of Destruction!"

As he swing the chain to all direction. He then swing it down with all of his power. Making a big explosion to the ground. Debris flew everywhere. Hitting the rest of the ants.

"Easy... So Easy... Anne. If you hearing this. You better get ready!"

Dream said in case that she heard Dream.

Lily charged in to the ants really fast. Using her Wing of Caritas, She s***h everything on her way. Then she fly to the sky and aim toward the Ants. She held her hand up.

"Wing of Caritas Original: Feather Rain!"

Suddenly, Thousands of Feather started to shoot to the ants. It cleanly goes through their bodies. Then, After all of the ants are dead. All of the feather fly back toward her. It circling around her making a tornado. Then it disappear without a trace.

That's the true power of the second form of Yoga and Gava.

As they meet each other at the center of the city.

"Great work Dream!"

"Great work Li-"

As he went to greet Lily. One of the ant is still alive. And using its last breath he thrust it's arm through Dream abdomen.

"What-"

He started bleeding from the mouth.

"Dream!"

Lily run toward Dream.

"Bastard!"

Dream swing his Chains down. Crushing the head of the hand leaving no trace of it.

"Damn it... I'm losing consciousness..."

Dream said. The arm of the ant is still on his stomach. As he's on the bring of unconsciousness. Dream decided to take the arm out. Leaving a hole on his stomach.

"Lily..."

He said while reaching his hand toward Lily. Dream bleed heavily on the hole. It's such a stupid decision to take the arm out. But, Dream have to do it. Because Other people might hesitate to take it out.

"Dream! Hang in there!"

Lily said. That's what Dream heard before he passed out.

Lily quickly take a high potion and shove it in Dream mouth. She watch the potion goes down but, The wound isn't closing. Dream threw up the potion in pain.

"No... Dream... Please drink the potion."

Lily look very worried seeing Dream condition. So she do the last resort.

She put the potion in her mouth. Then gave it to Dream. Little by little, Dream started to drank the potion.

Then he started to regain consciousness. His eyes stared Lily's.

"Dream! You've woken up!"

Lily immediately hug him. Dream doesn't know what in the world happen. He recall the soft sensation on his lips. He immediately explode. His face is all red. His heart pumping really fast.

But he knows. At the very least, Lily is worried. So he hug her back and said.

"Sorry to make you worried... I'm back"

Lily wiped her tears at Dream shoulder. Dream patted her head.

Elaine comes in to check on them.

"You guys alri-"

But, Seeing them hugging each other. She stop and only stared from a far. 'Good Luck Lily.' Can be seen from her face.

"Ah! The competition!"

Lily realize. Elaine cut off her worried by saying.

"Don't worry. It was postponed until tomorrow. So make sure to rest. Especially you Dream."

"Yes miss."

Both Dream and Lily immediately went back to the dorm.

"Damn it... How can I relax while my students fighting like that..."

Elaine grumble as she go back to the academy.
