Chapter Ten It was a long, hard trudge up into the hills. The hills themselves weren’t so high, but they were incredibly steep in places. Susan followed along behind her captors. The weight of the pack she had to carry kept her bent slightly over. She was glad that her hands were free. She wouldn’t have been able to climb the slopes at all otherwise. She was also glad that they’d given her shoes to wear. The trail that wound its crooked way upwards seemed to be paved with exposed tree roots and sharp rocks. Now that she was wearing clothes again, she thought of herself as Susan, not Barbie. It was a strange feeling, not being naked.
