Elves of Sorrow

Chapter 3

The next morning, we headed out just a little before dawn, my uncle and his wife came and said their farewells my cousin joined us he said that he wanted to have a little adventure and we didn’t mind having the extra person so the three of us waved goodbye to the crowd that was there sending off and we started for the Valley in the Husland Realm. My cousin knew a couple of short cuts in both realms to get around the mountain and cut our travel down by a day and half. We had made it out of the Eureka Realm and back into the Husland Realm we were on the back side of the mountains making our way to the valley, when all of a sudden we look up and we are being followed by three huge trolls,  stop and we dismount our horse and tie them to a set of tree so they are not spooked by the trolls and when they get closer to us we pull out our weapons and asked them what they want from us.

The biggest troll I have ever seen and he came towards us running a full speed the troll we at least another 2 foot taller than us so we had to make sure that we were faster them he was, I struck him first with sword making sure I hit his tough skin and them Dax and them my cousin Grayson, it took the three of about an hour to fighting and defeat this troll and before we finally was able to kill it with a sword to his throat Dax asked him why he attacked us and his answer  was plain he said that he was sent me the Fae Queen Freya to end us to stop us from getting the princess, after we got our answer Dax cut his throat,. We made sure that he was dead before we continued path, we stopped to look at our map to see what we were looking like and with the way Grayson lead us we were doing great we seen that there was a lake not far from where we were so we decided that would stop there and camp there for the night. We setup our camp and fire we eat our dinner and after our meal we sat around talking and enjoying he quiet, we all ended up falling asleep early and we had a good night rest we were ready to finish the second half of our journey to the valley.

Grayson’s POV

So I wanted to go and help my cousin find this princess that is so important to the people of his Realm, our Realm and the people that live in took the legend of the Snow Princess as a bedtime story for little girls we did not thing it was true, when my uncle married his wife the Queen of the Sky Elves she had been the 8th Queen to rule the land she used to tell us stories on how they would be upset because they were cursed even though her family was not directly involved in the breaking of the Fae Queens heart but they has to suffer just like the rest of the Realm.

 When my aunt had Atlas, she was overjoyed and knew that the goddess herself is who blessed them with the son, and she knew in her heart that he is the true love of the princess, and he will be able to break the curse and set everyone in the Husland Realm free. I wanted to be there to help him and make the people of his Realm proud of him. We stayed close to the where the river and the mountain meet for the night tomorrow, we are headed through the lower mountains to get the valley, I know that we will have to worry about the mountain Dwarfs that inhabit these parts I told them, the area was ruff to pass through, but it was the shortest way to get to the valley location without taking days.

Grayson was telling us that through this pathway that only thing we should encounter if any would be the mountain dwarfs which they are not that bad really the only thing with them is they were greedy, I bought gold if I needed it. When all sudden we hear like a stomping and growling we look around and then seen that we are surrounded by Minotaur. We got off our horses, the three of us pull out our swords and we are getting into fighting position, and we are looking around we are surround by at least fifteen of them, we wait to see if they will attack us first.

After about 20- minutes four of them come barreling towards us we start to fend them off killing them one by one when we got did pretty good taking them on Dax had the last one pin he was fighting hard and Finally I walked over and placed my sword on his throat and asked him who sent him he said Freya did, We looked at each other we now have the second attack that she has sent after us what is she doing and why is she doing it. I killed the last one and we got on our horse and took off as fast as we could we were close to the clearing for the valley we wanted to get there before night fall.

Dax’s POV

 We have been on the road for two days now and we have been attacked twice as well both attacks, they told us that they were sent by the Fae Queen Freya to stop us. I wonder why she is fighting us so hard to stop us from finding the princess for I know that Atlas will not stop at nothing to save her, we made it to the clearing where the dark forest and the mountain meets, and it is where we start the journey to find the valley of the caves. I have heard stories about the caves they are magically, and they supposedly change the appearances so that someone gets lost, and they will not find what they are looking for. We got to the valley opening and we started to make our way through.

Freya’s POV

I sent my Minotaur after them and I looked to see what was going on and I see that they destroyed them I cannot understand they should not be that easier to destroy, I do not need them getting the Avery’s body, I guess I will have to whip some magic, so they do not get through those caves easily. I know I will never live long if they wake Avery, and she tells them what really happened. I sometimes wish that I never did that her, but I felt betrayed by everyone, I need to get to those caves fast.

 I got to the cave where Avery was, and I decided to cast a relocation spell that would have them move her body when they got close this should keep them busy for a while maybe he will give up and leave and then I would not have to worry about the curse or anything for a while longer. By the looks of how they are going with the travels they should be her by tonight or tomorrow I think I might also have them have to deal with the magically plants for little while. (Ha, ha, ha sinister laugh)

Atlas’s POV

We are also to the caves we still have a few hours to go until we reach them, I am looking at the area and I notice that the plants seem to either be moving or am I seeing s**t. I looked at Dax and Garyson and ask both of them about it and they stop and look around and they both say at the same time move it faster the vines are moving towards us, we got our horses to go as fast as they would and  suddenly my horse got caught and stuck with the vines attaching to every leg  Grayson dismounted his horse and tried to free mine by chopping at the vines but every time that he did the vines would grow back stronger and faster we didn’t know what to do because these vines were magically spelled by the Fae queen no doubt we had to sit there trying to figure out defeat  this problem without losing at horse in the process.

My poor horse was getting tired and upset through this whole thing I did not know what I should do Dax produce the plan that we dismount the horse have them pull the other horse to break it free from the vines and see if they grow back after we did that.

We did, and we did not see any of the vines regrow, we took the chance to move on and Dax also decided that it would be best to burn down the vines, so he ashes. We kept going deeper in the this  valley we came across a river that divided the two parts and we would have to cross this river to get to the caves  so we looked around for a bridge or a way to cross and we couldn’t find one we dismounted our horses again I stepped in it see how deep it was and it was safe for us to cross with our horses and when I got in there it went mid-chest and there was also a strong current that was making the streaming of the river faster so we had to wait until that died down some to cross.
