The Border

Alpha Hunter It's been almost an hour. I hope for the love of God my dumbass brother has brought only his trustworthy warriors. "Their coming Alpha." I looked over the moles of dried-out grassland and sure enough, I could see my stepbrother and at least fifty wolves with him. And of course, he had to bring that two-faced beta along with him. I hate the little prick and I also hate his gamma, but I have to push that aside because he's too blind to see that these are the very wolves he shouldn't be associated with. He chose them as his second and third in command because we were all friends, well used to be anyway. They both turned on me when I killed their alpha, Lincoln and my father. He f*****g deserved it. He had never had any time for me. I was just the runt, the mistake that caused his mate to break their bond. He only ever had pure hatred for me. Until the day I let all my anger out at him for all the years he has neglected me and failed me as a father, one that was supposed to love their child, yet never did. The one that was suited to protect their child, but failed. Those two were as two-faced as they come. He has no idea those would rather go behind his back and deceive him and stab him in the back than stand by him and fight by his side for what's right and not what's wrong. But, that's his problem. He won't ever believe me if I warn him anyway. He'll find out soon enough that he can't trust anyone in his pack, but his f*****g shadow and by that time I fear it will be too late. I wait and watch as they approach us. I hope this doesn't turn into a s**t show. Alpha Lincoln I know that Hunter has issues with my beta and gamma, but I trust them as much as I trust him. We've been through so much together. If it weren't for my beta I would never have found out Abby's true identity. I can't believe she ran and didn't tell me how anxious she was feeling about my pack. "I can." My wolf mutters. I haven't heard much from him once he had mind-linked my beta. "s**t is going to go down Lincoln. Trust no one not even your closest friends they could turn out to be your enemies. The only person you can trust is you, not even your f*****g shadow." "What about my brother? Can I trust him?" "That you have no choice in. You're bound by blood by the daughter of the moon goddess. You should be grateful you both share that bond. All this could be a worse s**t show than it's going to become. There is a storm coming Lincoln." "So you keep saying." "You'll know who you can truly trust when the time comes, just remember to keep your friends close and your enemies closer." "Sure what the hell that even means anyway." "You'll find out soon." My wolf says, cutting out the link. I know I should trust my two best friends with my life, they've saved me so many times, but can I trust them this time? I surely hope so. I look at Hunter as I approach him and his warriors. We both smile and pull each other into a bro hug. Considering he had been banished he doesn't smell like any of the rogues that I had encountered. He smelt like a fresh summer breeze. Not like rotting flesh. "Hunter." "Lincoln, it's been too long.' I couldn't agree more. "I've missed you, brother." "I miss you too." We slapped each other's backs and moved away from each other. "Lincoln these are my strongest wolves; my right-hand wolf; Marshall and my left hand; Creed." I nodded, shaking their hands. "And this is my Beta Damion and my Gamma Colton." They shook hands. God, I hope they can get along for everyone's sake. "Let's go, we have a lot to discuss." I nodded. "Follow me." We followed behind my brother. I guess we were going to his territory to enumerate a plan.
