The Royal Pack

1165 Words
Prince Zyair I have only just learnt I have a sister somewhere out there. Somewhere in the woods I have an older sister. According to my father, she was taken in the middle of the night by a Rogue. He had no doubt it was a lone wolf he'd banished several years before for taking a sudden unhealthy interest in her and her well-being father had banished him from our pack, the Royal Pack. He didn't want his only daughter's life put at risk because of some fantasy a lone wolf had about her. One night whilst everyone was sleeping, she was taken. No one is quite sure of how he got into the palace but had the guards were sleeping, which made my father second-guess himself and that someone had used magic to get into the palace undeterred and had used some kind of sleeping spell on the guards. That was the best excuse he could come up with as to why his only daughter had vanished off the face of the earth. Our father, The Alpha King, had vowed to do everything in his power to find Abigail and bring her home where she belonged. Unfortunately, our father was ill. Mother passed away years ago after giving birth to me and my twin brother. She was left broken-hearted after the disappearance of our sister. She couldn't even carry us full term. Father had told us we were to blame because the pregnancy wasn't planned and there were so many complications. He hadn't gone into detail but we knew it was bad. The pain he was bearing told us just how bad it was. And my twin brother, Koen, we are the last of the Royals. We were both to take the role of the alpha as neither of us dared to do anything alone. We needed to find our sister fast and get her away from whoever this lone wolf was. If she was still with him, if she wasn't, we would search to the ends of the earth to find her. We had no idea if she had found her mate yet or had pups, as we had no scent of hers to fall back on because she'd been gone too long to lick it up, but I was picking up another scent. Chocolate and strawberries. Prince Koen I had just left my father. He wasn't going to be here much longer with us. Both I and Zyair knew we didn't have much time left to find our sister. We were in the middle of preparations to head off into the unknown to find Abigail with some of our warriors, unsure of what or who we would find on our travels. We were known as the most ruthless and bloodthirsty pack. We had taken most packs down, most feared us, some had big brass balls and had tried to take us down and failed. Some didn't fear us; all those packs became our strongest allies. I'm not sure what our older sister will think of us. But, I know one thing: once I find the lone wolf that dared to take her, I will rip him to shreds. How dare he take my only sister away for reasons unknown? He pleaded it to be for her own safety. Safety my ass. He'll die countless deaths for his sins. We're all about ready to go when I smell the most intoxicating scent. Roses and fresh meadows. I stepped out of my room, coming face to face with my twin brother Zyair. “Mate.” Fuck not now. His eyes are like black pools of darkness and lust, which can only mean one thing: our mate isn't far away. Double f**k. “We need to let father know we're heading out to find Abigail.” “Mate?” “Them too.” Not sure if our mate is a female or male, it's known that twins share their mate but are never clear about their gender until they meet and unsure if they will rejoice or reject us both, but it could go either way. Elias Alpha King My health has deteriorated over the past few years, my twin boys have taken over all of my duties as King. They'll be the best kings on the throne. Pity their mother and sister aren't here to see it. Their mother would be so proud of them for pulling together like they have. We had both promised to tell them about their sister when they came of age, but with Leah not being there it was too hard to stomach until a year ago. She was in her mid to late twenties now, hopefully with a loving mate and pups who would probably be almost fifteen, maybe sixteen. I had promised Leah I would find Abigail and take her home, but now I'm in ill health. I can no longer look for her like I have been doing all of these years. All the leads were just that coming home empty-handed made me judge of how good a father I actually was if I couldn't even find my only daughter. Zyair and Koen were my only hope. I just hope I get to see how beautiful my baby girl has turned out. The knock at the door shook me out of my thoughts, “can we come in dad?” “Do you really have to ask?” I said in a thrifty growl. They pushed the door open, stepping in. “We’ve come to let you know that we're all set and ready to go in search of Abigail.” I smiled. “We'll find her dad and when we do, we'll bring her home.” “I know you will. I'm so proud of both of you.” “There's something else, dad. We think we've found our mate, so we’ll be searching for them too.” I smiled, holding their hands in mine. “I’m so proud of the both of you. Your mother will be too.” I smiled. They returned my smile and wrapped their arms around me, hugging me. “We won’t let you down, dad.” “I know you won’t.” They pulled out of the hug. “We’ll be back with Abigail and our mate. That’s a promise.” I smiled and nodded before we said our final goodbye and they left the room, closing the door behind them. I’m so proud I’m proud they're finally going to meet their mate. I knew one day they would and one day they’d share their mate. They’re closer than most twins I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. They do everything together. They’re definitely two peas in the pod, the same to a fault. I just hope I’m still here to see them meet him or her. I hope I get to see my daughter again and tell her how much I love her. But we can all hope.
