“You will have to choose between being my daughter and becoming his wife then” the king burst out and she opened her mouth in surprise at the option she was given “Father!” she called out in protest but her father had made up his mind “Listen to me! I am your father and I am the king of this entire kingdom, do you think the ministers will stay still when they find out that you are pregnant without a fiancé? What do you think will happen to the royal house? What do you think will become of us? Do you want me to go down in history as a King who could not even handle what is happening in his household?” the king lashed at her while she knelt there holding her belly “But father, I can get engaged to the man who is the father of the baby, you can command that to happen” she replied trying to calm her angry father down “Don’t just think about it! Don’t think about that at all! Do you even hear yourself? How can you marry a werewolf? Have you ever seen such a union in our history? It’s still so early, you can rid that thing off your stomach and get married to Jerrick as scheduled” the king replied stubbornly “I do not love Jerrick and I cannot marry him. I never said I wanted to get married to him, you were the ones forcing us on each other. I will never marry Jerrick or abort this baby. I will rather not be a princess anymore” she replied firmly and the queen gasped at her word “What do you think you are saying to your father? You should apologize immediately” her mother cautioned “I know what I am saying and that is what I want. I will rather stop being a princess and that’s it” she answered and stood up to take her leave. “Once you step out of that door, make sure you step out of my palace as well because I refuse to take in a daughter carrying a bastard in her belly” her father roared after her but she left nonetheless She walked to her chambers angrily and carried her box from where it was placed, packed some clothes and other things she might need into it and was about carrying it when lady Carolyn burst into the room “My princess, please do not do this. We can still go back to the King to beg uhn” Lady Carolyn advised but she just aired her “Let’s just go beg your father so he can take you back at least, you just can’t leave your father’s house and the palace because of someone you do not know” the lady added but received no response again “Why are you not talking? Being disowned by your parents is no a joke” the lady yelled with frustration and the princess had no choice than to respond to her this time around “Did I ask for your opinion? Why are you policing my life? Did I ask you to follow me out of the palace? I have lived in this secluded place all my life and this time I feel like it’s an opportunity to get some fresh air so don’t you dare try to talk me out of it” she lashed at the Lady who was taken aback “If you are done here then will you excuse me so I can finish what I am doing?” she added and pointed to the door for her to get out of the room The lady left the room reluctantly and left her to pack the loads she was packing even though all the cells in her body was having the urge to talk to her the more about going back to beg her dad who only said those things because he was furious. She packed her load and carried the box along only to see the Lady and Debra waiting for her at the gate with their own little loads clutched to their chests. “What are you both doing here?” she asked eyeing them from head to toe “Do you think we will leave you to go alone? We are your servants, who will help you other there?” the Lady muttered facing the other side to avoid the princess’ gaze. “You have no choice than to take us along my princess” Debra added and the princess was touched by their loyalty to her even though it means abandoning a comfortable life in the palace. They all went out of the palace and trekked through the mountains to the house where they were keeping the werewolf, the princess thanks to her powers lighted up the torches so it could illuminate the road. He was so speechless and surprised seeing her there in the dead of the night but she just told him not to panic and everything will be alright. She also sealed off the place with her powers so it was not visible to others no matter how they search for the place. TEN MONTHS LATER The king was still bent on searching for his only girl whom he chased out of the palace angrily but all to no avail. Shirley has given birth to a baby girl who was big and beautiful but she had a strange and weird hair, her hair was tangled from the moment she was given birth to and the funniest thing was that it never straightened no matter how much it was combed. “Our baby is just so beautiful isn’t she?” she said with joy in her voice as she laid the baby to rest on the bed They had bought and made many things in the house over time thanks to the skill of the father who knew about many things and used the knowledge to furnish the house to be at least more comfortable “I know right? Our little princess is so cute” he supported touching the small baby’s nose with a wide smile “What do you think will happen to us now? We have to take care of our child with so much love so she wouldn’t be affected by our situation” she asked looking at her husband who paused for a bit before taking her hands gently “Shirley, do you know what? I do not want us to continue like this. I want us to go back to your father and have you married to me legally. He now has a grandchild and it would not be advisable to just ignore the position of your parents” he gently told her but she jerked his hand away in anger “Don’t you dare mention them, the moment I stepped out of the palace that night, I already made a decision to start a new life with both you and my cute darling here so do not try to ever talk me into reconciling with him. I have cut off every ties just to be with you and this is my final decision” she replied with her tone getting worked up but he just sighed before pulling her closer “I understand that you are still angry and sad about what happened and I will never forget that it’s a sacrifice you had made just for me and the baby but let’s not put our emotions first, we have to make sure to think of our baby’s future too” he advised but she was not ready to hear any of it “All I want from you is a wedding, I mean a union of just the both of us where we will exchange wedding vows within ourselves to seal our living together as an ordained fate by the heavens. Lady Carolyn and Debra will take care of the process so do not worry about that” she answered firmly “If that is what you want then I have no choice, let’s have a wedding between us” he said agreeing to her request Lady Carolyn and Debra decorated the yard with flowers and the trails to under the tree to be used were beautified with flower petals. Lady Carolyn sew her wedding gown herself with her hands and put it on for her that fateful morning before Debra placed a woven bridal wreath made from available flowers on her head “You look so beautiful my princess” Lady Carolyn remarked with tears in her eyes as she saw Shirley in the gown she sewed for her and also the wreath “How can you be so beautiful even in this lowly clothes?” Debra supported and blushed making Shirley just giggle before the atmosphere became serious “Thank you both for staying by my side and also taking care of me and my baby, I will never forget your hearts of gold” she said to them with teary eyes and they ran to clean the tears off her eyes “Do not cry on such a joyful day” they cautioned and they all burst into laughter before she was ushered out to meet her husband who was waiting for her outside. They walked down to the tree with Debra holding the baby and Lady Carolyn by the side. She was the officiating minister of the event and blessed their unions. They were about to exchange the flower rings that were placed on the small altar that was built by Debra when they heard some noise approach them, they all stopped and wondered what was happening and what could cause the noise but before they could process what was happening, the soldiers of the prime minister appeared in the garden where the wedding was taking place “What to do? I think I just interrupted a sacred ceremony” the prime minister said with a smirk and fear gripped Debra who ran to Lady Carolyn’s side with the baby in her hands.
