“I promise to love and cherish you all days of my life. I might not have much to offer but I will make sure to take care of both you and our child to the maximum, my fullest capacity” promised and held her hand with a smile
“I also promise not to disappoint you, I will support both you and our child till the end” Shirley stated back
They were about to exchange the flower rings that were placed on the small altar that was built by Debra when they heard some noise approach them, they all stopped and wondered what was happening and what could cause the noise but before they could process what was happening, the soldiers of the prime minister appeared in the garden where the wedding was taking place
“What to do? I think I just interrupted a sacred ceremony” the prime minister said with a smirk and fear gripped Debra who ran to Lady Carolyn’s side with the baby in her hands.
“What do you think you are doing in an event you were not invited to?” Shirley asked moving to the front to face him
“Well you have been hiding so much for the past ten months that I went through so much trouble looking for you thanks to the King who wants to see his precious girl by all means possible. You should have known that your baby will tap from your power so you won’t be as powerful as before, the siege you thought is still clear over here is just hanging by the thread which means that I can sense you easily now” the prime minister said with so much confidence and cocky attitude
“I have always wondered where Jerrick got his trashy attitude but the apple doesn’t really fall far from the tree truly, you stink of nothing but drunken power” She attacked him but he only laughed
“Why would you go out of your way to get pregnant for a slave on the run? A werewolf at that, I wonder what will the product of your union. That is none of my business at this point, I just need to take the groom to the place where he belongs, you should give up on him” the prime minister remarked
“Take who? You can never take him, you can only take him when you kill me or you take me with him” she protested spreading her hands to guard her husband
“I guess this is what love is but it will not work here, you should either give up on him or I sell you along with him and just tell the king that you died during childbirth and have been buried” he stated with a wicked laugh
“Let my people go first and then we can talk” she said trying to bargain with him
“You should know that I hate to leave witnesses, sorry I don’t think I can let them go” he said hardening his expression making Debra shiver with the baby where she was standing
“What do you think will happen to us right now?” Debra whispered to Lady Carolyn
“let’s keep calm, I am sure the princess will sort it out” Lady Carolyn answered trying to calm them down
“You can harass me all you want but don’t even think of touching these ones” She groaned and stretched forth her hand towards them making a big breeze blow which blew them far away from where the event was
“You have to run as fast as you can” she yelled to them and they ran with the baby in their custody while the soldiers ran after them
Lady Carolyn took the baby from Debra and told her to follow the sandy path in the forest, she will get to a place where she would be helped out by the people there
“What of you and the baby? Will you both be alright?” Debra asked with a worried tone but the court lady just smiled at her before stretching forth to collect the baby
“Let’s take care of the baby together when we meet again, we will meet again soon, we just have to stay alive” Lady Carolyn said wiping the tears of Debra’s cheek
“You promised to meet again, make sure you keep your promise” Debra said before dashing into the bush and the lady headed for the palace
Both Princess Shirley and her husband were taken and the prime minister led them to the werewolf’s hunters who were already waiting at the bottom of the mountain
“I handed over the prey and even gave you an extra gift so you should not forget about your promise of giving me the support whenever I need it” he said with a smirk
“Do not worry, we already gave you our words” the leader of the gang said assuring him as they took both the husband and wife again while the prime minister headed to the palace.
Lady Carolyn managed to escape from the soldiers with the baby thanks to her being familiar with the shortcuts in the mountain and headed for the palace, she got there late at night and requested to see the queen but she was turned away by the guards
“The prime minister already said to never allow you into the palace because you are already a banished slave” the guard stated
“I just want a word with the queen, let her know that I just need a minute to give her something precious” she insisted but after being told that they will contact the prime minister and notify him of her presence, she fled the palace’s gate and went into hiding with the baby.
The queen heard from the maids talking about her being at the gate with a baby and ran quickly to see her but she was long gone. She wept about how she missed the chance but the prime minister soon marched into the palace to request for an audience so she had to pretend like she haven’t seen the lady or the child
The prime minister had waxed stronger over the months and used the princess as a weakness for the king when she found out about her. He made the king sign the announcement that Lady Carolyn was the one who sold the princess out and is a wanted criminal. The news reached her and she fled to the port by midnight with the baby thoroughly wrapped, luckily for her, she knew the person in charge of the boat that night and begged him to help her cross.
“The only reason why I’m helping you is because you and the princess has been nothing but nice to my family, I wish you luck after helping you cross” the man said to her and helped her inside the boat
The boat rowed over the water to the other side, they journeyed through the night and by the dawn of the next day, they arrived at the town where the lady had in mind to go.
“Thank you for your help I will never forget this” she said with a grateful heart before disappearing into the town with the baby on her back.
