KEEPER OF THE DESERTED ISLAND

THE TAKEOVER

Jerrick and his father the prime minister had grown into a big threat for the king and the queen since they were part of the people that knew what happened to the princess. They were keeping it secret because the kingdom must not know that the princess got pregnant for a werewolf which were known to be the enemy of the land. This has made the prime minister a powerful man in the court whose will must be done because he has the power which was the secret with him.

The worried queen went to meet the King about what to do concerning their daughter but he was afraid of what the people would say. He chose the kingdom above his child and insisted that he would not reveal the secret to the people

“But do you like how the prime minister and his son are doing to us? We can’t even make any decision on our own and also we have to look for our daughter, she has been gone for more than ten years and we haven’t made a move to look for her, she went out of the palace while pregnant and we don’t even know how she has been living and coping ever since then, that is not the qualities of a good parent” the queen cried

“That’s not even all, the prime minister has restricted the use of magic in the kingdom and said it will be only used with permission, he forced you to carry out the restriction ritual and now we are just helpless because no one in the kingdom can use their magic anymore even we the royalties” she added

The king sighed as he paced up and down the room while hearing what his wife was lamenting about. He has been nothing but a puppet king ever since the prime minister somehow found out that the princess left the palace and was also pregnant for a werewolf

“I have also sent out my spies to look for her but no one has ever found out where she is even with her husband, I also regret letting her go that night but the kingdom is more important, we can only defeat the prime minister when we see her” the king replied

“I also has sent out several people but none of them came with a positive answer so I don’t even know what to do at my end” the queen also stated

“Let’s look for her the more, I’m sure we will find her if we do” the king remarked

“I really hope we find her” the queen muttered

When the prime minister raided the princess and her husband’s wedding and took them, he sold them back to the werewolf side in exchange for a promise of support from the Alpha of the pack. The husband and wife were turned to slave in the pack and were guarded to never leave the pack, they worked for several quarters and their workload was much more than every other person in the pack.

“Instead of just suffering here with me, why not just let me help you run away so you can start a new life, you are the only one odd here and no one has regard for you or your former status” Convel persuaded her

“I am not going anywhere, we will stick through this situation and we will both get out alive so we can see our daughter together” she countered

“But this work is too much for you who was brought up delicately, I feel guilty for making you suffer” he stated

“We will both see this through don’t worry” she assured him

“when I decided to love you, I loved you for who you are and not because I just wanted to test out my curiosity and I am ready to pay the sacrifice of that love so do not worry about me anymore, this situation will not make my love for you waver, in fact I’m keeping strong together with you in hope that we can have a future together” she added and he pulled her into a deep and tight hug

The prime minister visited the Alpha with Jerrick and told him that it was time for him to redeem his promise of support

“I want to take over the throne now” the prime minister said to the Alpha

“So what do you want us to do?” the alpha asked

“I want you to send support with your soldiers so we can take over successfully” the prime minister requested

“My son has some soldiers within his jurisdiction and he also is ready to fight with me so I am sure I can take over with the support from your side too” the prime minister added

“You have my word, just let me know when you are ready” the alpha replied them and invited them over to the feast he prepared for them

Jerrick saw how Shirley was being lashed out on by someone in the pack when she made a mistake and felt his chest tug because apart from her being his childhood friend, he did love her and wanted to marry her but ever since that incident happened between them, she had turned cold towards him.

He watched her get yelled at and ridiculed but did nothing than just stared at her as he passed by

“Is something over there? You seems to be looking intently there” his father asked and he looked away immediately

“Nothing, I was just admiring the vicinity” he replied immediately

“Don’t tell me you are still attached to the princess, she is now nothing but a mere woman with no status and dignity, that kind of woman is not fit for you so do not even think about having her” his father warned

“I don’t have anything in mind, do not worry too much father” he assured him

They finished the feast and was about going out of the pack when Shirley saw him going out with the prime minister, she stopped what she was doing and just stared at him for some minutes before she looked away and resumed her work, she had nothing towards him except hatred and ever since his father sold her out to pack as a slave, the hatred doubled and now that she saw that he was in support of his father, the hatred has increased to tenfold.

The prime minister and the alpha passed their messages to each other as they both got ready and he finally attacked the palace. The soldiers from the pack came to join the prepared soldiers and took over everywhere. He instructed them to kill everyone except the king and queen, they did as they were told and captured the king and queen

“Was this what you were trying to do when you decided to threaten me with the secret of my daughter?” the king asked with ropes tied around his hands and feet

“do you want me to tell you a secret? I am with your child and I can command for her to be brought now but since I don’t want that reunion to happen I will let her be” he said with a wicked laugh

“You are nothing but a wicked soul, you deserve a place in hell. I have been nothing but a good friend to you all these years but you dared to kidnap my child and threaten me with her? Bring my child now!” the king yelled at him but the prime minister slapped him across the face

“how dare you yell at me? I am your king now and you are nothing but my slave. You dare not raise your voice at me unless you want me to have your head” the prime minister stated before motioning to the guards near them

“Take them to the prison, we will solve their case later and also give them the last respect they deserve as the king and queen” he instructed and they were taken away with courtesy

“Did you have to go this far as making them your slave?” Jerrick asked from behind

“You have to make them face a situation where they will be forced to choose between begging for their lives or taking it themselves and that is exactly what I am doing, I will never have their blood on my hands” the prime minister replied with a wicked smile

“the throne room is ready” Jerrick informed him

“Let’s go and make a new world, look my son! The world is ours now” he replied as he marched to the hall and Jerrick followed him closely
