Frustrated

Trevor Bradford Descending the stairs, I walk elegantly into the living room where I meet Travis arranging the collar of his shirt. It's been a while since we last went to the company, been busy with the businesses that we haven't had the time to check out dad's companies that he left here for us to take care of. It's a good thing each of us has a dedicated manager that helps us out there while we're busy here. I think it's high time that dad does something about this whole thing, it's stressing us out, going taking care of two companies each at a time. Dad has many companies in many countries, and we're taking care of the two in Los Angeles, with each of our companies. Talking about Travis, he doesn't seem to have a problem handling the companies, but in my case, you wouldn't want to know about it. At times I sit down and think about my plight, and I just can't help but conclude that when God was sharing sense and responsibilities for the both of us, I must be asleep then, that he almost gave everything to Travis. I mean, look at him, he has everything, a good heart, a perfect mindset, and he likes helping people. "Hey, dude!" I smile at him when I finally get to where he is standing. "Hey!" He replies simply, and once he is done with his collar, he grabs his car keys, and without waiting for me, he storms out of the house. I sigh briefly as I pick up my car keys and phone from the center table, striding out of the living room afterward. I leave for the company afterward. Heaven knows that I hate going to the office, but dad will surely kill me if he finds out that I'm playing with his business. He doesn't joke with his business, especially when it comes to me. I don't blame him though, he ought to be harsh on me. I deserve it, considering the kind of person I am. After driving for what seems like forever, I finally drive into the company's compound and park my car in the garage where a few cars are already parked. The staff here almost own at least a car each. That's to know how big and successful my dad's company is. Stepping into the lobby, my staffs keep greeting me but screw them. I don't need their greetings, so they can save them for whoever needs them. I have better things waiting for me in the office, and my head is already occupied just ignored them, and headed to the elevator. I take the elevator to the fifth floor where my office is. I make my way to the office, and stepping inside, there is my hard-working secretary, sitting behind his desk and has his eyes glued to the screen of the desktop as always. He stands up to his feet to greet me, but I only wave at him and head to the door that finally leads to my office, but I stop halfway as something crosses my mind. "Brian, I need you to plot my schedule for today, and bring it to me as soon as possible," I say to him, and without waiting for his reply, I push the door open and stride inside. Sinking into the chair tiredly, I stare at the screen of the desktop in frustration. It's a horrible day for me, and I think I'm going to have afternoon nightmares later by the time I start reading the tons of emails that must've been sent to me. The only thing that interests me in this company is the neatness, and nothing else. Heaven knows that my dad is going to kill me soon with these workloads, and too bad that I can't even complain. At least, I don't want to sign my death contract so soon. He would take me to live with him in California if I dare try something stupid, and that's why I have decided to respect myself and not get on his nerves. "Finally!" I breathe out, getting rid of my sunglass that's already bugging me, dropping it on the table afterward. Reluctantly, I switch on the desktop, and as if it has been waiting for me to switch it on, tons of messages pop on the screen as expected. Heaven knows that I didn't sign up for this. All I ever wanted was to at least have a sweet life, where I'll live freely just the way I want it. Staring at the tons of emails, I can't help the frustrating sigh that tears through my throat. I doubt if Travis goes through this s**t too. Because why would I be going through this mess? Replying to the messages will take almost two months, so how the hell am I supposed to handle that? The sound of the knock on the door pulls my attention, and I roll my eyes. Can't the person's brain tell him or her that it's too early for this? "Go away! I'm busy," Without bothering to know who is, I say loudly. "I'm sorry for bothering you, Sir. It's something important," I sigh briefly and usher him in. Maybe my life won't get any better. Not when I have already started work in this company. "Speak," I order Brian who just walked in. "Sir, the CEO of Kay's company asked to remind you of the dinner date tonight. And also, Mr. Kelvin Ramirez asked to tell you that the supplies are all ready, and he needs to see you for some signatures to seal the business. Mrs. Tracy Jones sent in her appointment. She said she wants to meet you for a business deal, Mr. Daniel already sent the money for the supply, and..." "It's ok, please," I cut him off as I rub my forehead in frustration. I wonder if he ever gets tired of talking. "Get me my schedule for the week. Search through the company's emails. For those applying for work, send them to meet the manager. I don't have time for that now. For those seeking business partner s**t, tell them that I said that I'm not interested. Filter out the ones you feel are not important, and send me the important ones tonight. I'll work on it once I get home... One more thing, tell the CEO of Kay's company to reschedule the appointment till next week. I won't be able to meet him tonight. I got lots of things to take care of," Who knows, maybe I'll eventually die before my time. I mean, with these workloads on myself alone, how am I supposed to survive this? I think I'm going to lose my mind anytime soon. "But Sir..." "Just go, Brian," I dismiss him, and he how's slightly before he strides out of my office, while I heave a deep sigh. Will my life ever get any better? I don't think it will. Not with these workloads on me...
