"Cheers!" I clinked my glass of water with Karen's beer as we sat in Karen's living room. It was time to celebrate all my wins and even though I wanted to celebrate it with my mate, he wasn't interested. But I wasn't going to give up my right to happiness just because Braiden was sulking for reasons beyond me.
"To the new alpha and to you," I smiled at my best friend. "I couldn't have done it without you,"
"Well, now what?" Karen asked.
"Now one last hit for Gordon," I hissed. "Do you have the rest of it?" She nodded and, fishing in her pocket, pulled out a small vile containing some blue liquid.
"Here,"she handed it over to me.
"Why is it blue? All the others were yellowish. That's the color of wolfsbane, isn't it?"
"This one is highly poisonous, that's why," Karen answered.
