“I’ll be right down,” I mutter to Victor.
Victor bows his head slightly, “Be downstairs in ten,” He orders and hurries out of the room.
The twins are silent as we all get dressed. I know they aren’t happy after what I said about having pups. I can sense their emotions now. Their wolves keep trying to speak with me, but I ignore them. Lilith is lingering in the shadows of my mind. I know she will have a lot to say about the pup situation.
I move to the door and walk out. The twins follow me in silence. I feel guilty for what I said, but I had to say it.
“You don’t seem nervous about meeting Councilman Cleary,” Tyler breaks the silence.
“Ed?” I shrug. “I have known Edmund Cleary my entire life,” I tell him. “He and my grandfather are good friends.”
