I stood in the shower for a long while, my eyes closing tight, the water running over my skin. I felt... liberated. Like I had been carrying a heavy inflated balloon just for it to hit a sharp edge and go off with most of my worries, leaving me free from the burden. I gave a small sigh and shook my head, my chest lightly heaving. Fabian. Was I really free now? To be whatever, to do whatever? To feel everything? To be his wife?
