Chapter 13
That same evening Paige and Rebecca were seated in front of the roaring fireplace in the main area of the station waiting for their guests to arrive. The station had closed for the night, but they were expecting Scott and Madison to come back with their new renter Mr. Noeland.
As Rebecca watched their guests walk up the front door, she giggled out loud at the picture they made; it was too much of a cliché not to laugh. Here was the man coming to rent space from them to open a toy store, and he couldn't have appeared more like a traditional Santa Claus if he tried. His beard was a little shorter, and he was wearing jeans and a flannel shirt rather than a red suit, but the cold air had made his cheeks rosy and he definitely looked as if he had indulged in a few too many cookies.
