Caine shifted and their Dad told him to stand down, he tried to fight the order, he really did but him not being a royal he had to listen.

“He can stand down but I won't.” Damien said while hitting him.

“We won't stand for anyone touching our mate.”

“I'm Your father!"

"And I'm your son but our mate comes first.” Damien growled.

“You filthy weak *ss no good for nothing sons how dare you choose her before me?”

“She's our mate what if that was mom.”

“I wouldn’t care she's not my real mate.”

“What?” They gasped.

“That's right. We were an arranged marriage.”

“Mom?” Damon said while looking at his mother.

“It's true. We aren't mates but I still love him after all of these years.” I felt so bad for her. She wasn’t his real mate but had to deal with him that must have been hard for her.

“Every one out! Lets go to my office and talk.” We all followed Damon to his office. I knew that he was upset he kept balling and un-balling his fists. My wolf wanted me to hug him to calm him down but I didn’t want to do that not with this heat it may turn to a full make out session.

“First thing. DON'T YOU EVER put your hands on my mate again I will kill you.” His father growled.

“Don’t talk to me like that.”

“Please everyone calm down.” His mother said.

"When were you going to tell us?”

“I thought it was best that you guys didn’t know.”

“I told you that they should know after all they are going to have to go thr-” He was interrupted by a knock on the door.

"What?” Damon yelled. A girl came in with her head down.

“I have a message for King Lazarus”(Damon and Damien's father) She whispered something into their fathers ear and when she turned to leave I gasped.

I knew her! That face! “It was you!” Everyone turned and looked at me.

“It was you who I saw in the alley.” She looked at me shocked I remember her face.

“What are you talking about shes our friend.” Damon said.

I immediately became angry. “You think that I’m lying? I have a photographic memory ask my brother."

“Its true that’s why she never had to study in school. She only had to read or look at something once or twice and would remember it.”

“Denise?” Damien accused.

“She's lying. I wouldn’t hurt you guys you’re like my brothers she's lying.”

“Joy that’s our fathers friend. She's the daughter of an Alpha in the next town over she would never hurt us we grew up together.”

“So its OK to accuse me, your mate of hurting you but not a 'Friend'? Forget it the next time I hope they succeed in killing you idiots I wont stop them.” Every one gasped.

"You don’t mean that.” Damien said hurt.

“Joy that’s a horrible thing to say to your mates.” I turned to Faith. I thought she was my friend shes supposed to always be on my side.

"Just like it's horrible to banish your mate but no one said anything about that! I’ve had enough of this.” I stormed out of the room and out of the house. I shifted I didn’t know where I was going and I didn’t care I just wanted to be away from them.

I heard my name being yelled but I didn’t turn around. I heard foot steps then paws coming but they wouldn’t catch me. I heard water so I shifted when I looked up I saw a cliff and walked to the edge, it was a beautiful view.

Don’t do it! My wolf said.

This is the only way to get away from them I cant be with mates that don’t trust me they believed that woman over me I cant do this anymore.

“Joy don’t!”

“I love you Caine.”

“Joy no!” Damien yelled.

“For f*cks sake. Joy get your ass away from that cliff before you hurt yourself.” I turned back around and jumped, this plan was more perfect than I thought. They would think that I died. I could start over somewhere, somewhere where they wouldn’t find me.

The water was freezing cold and the impact knocked the wind out of me, maybe I should have rethought this plan. I couldn’t breathe and I couldn’t find my way to surface. The water around me became red and that’s when everything went black.

I woke up and looked around. I was in a dark room that was unfamiliar. I sat up and winced, my head was killing me. I touched my head and felt something wrapped around it what the hell?

A few minutes later a man walked in. I quickly pulled the cover over me and closed my eyes.

“Nice try I know that you aren’t asleep.” Damn I sighed.

“Who are you?” I asked.

“I’m Rafe nice to see you awake.”

"Where am I?”

“You’re at my house. I’m the alpha here.”

"But you smell like a rogue.”

“That’s because I am one.” I became afraid. Why the hell do I always have to run into these ruthless people?

“Calm down. I’m not going to hurt you, my Beta found you washed up on the shore you hit your head and have been asleep for days.” I gasped.

“What day is it?”

“It's Tuesday.” Well at least my plan worked, I got away.

“What's your name? What happened to you?”

I couldn’t tell him my name, especially if they were looking for me so I did the next best think I lied. “I'm Addie.”

“Nice to meet you Addie. Now tell me what happened.”

“I tried to kill myself.” I mumbled. I had to make my story believable.

“Why would you do that?” Rafe asked.

"To get away from my mate.”

“Why?”

"Can I tell you some other time?” He nodded his head.

A pretty brunette ran into the room she looked like a nice person. She was around 5'6, pretty blue eyes that held kindness. She made you want to be around her.

“Oh you’re awake! How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine.”

"This is my mate Mina, she's been taking care of you.”

"Thank you.”

“No problem, so where are you from?”

“Stansville.” (Its not a real town I hope lol)

“Oh OK that’s not far away. Would you like us to take you home?” My eyes widened. Hell no I cant go back there.

“I-I was hoping that I could stay, I mean if its OK with you.” She turned to Rafe.

“Please let her stay. There are only 6 women here and I cant stand any of them but since I’m the 'Luna' I have to put up with them.” He looked at me like he was thinking hard.

“Please I wont cause any trouble.” I begged. I needed to stay here I knew that everyone was looking for me. I also knew that the last place they would look is at rogues.

“We don’t need anymore members. I wanted us to stay this small for a reason.”

“I’ll work I can help the pack.”

“What can you do?”

“I will do anything. I was a nurse back home.”

“See! We can use her instead of kidnapping doctors and nurses every time someone is hurt.” He sighed.

“Alright but I'll be watching you so don’t try anything. Welcome to the pack.”

“Thanks.” I said smiling.

“We move around every few months to stay undetected by packs so get well soon we're leaving in a few days.”

“OK.”

"Now get some rest I’ll be back to check on you.” I smiled to myself there’s no way that they would find me now.

“Oh and Joy don’t lie to me again. I know that you are the Queen of werewolves your mark is one of royal. Don’t worry, if you ran away there must be a good reason I’ll keep your secret.”

“Thank you” I whispered. I knew that that was a warning and I took it serious.

First he's a rogue, second he's an Alpha, and third he's big and scary he could kill me with one hit. Any other rogue would have probably attacked and killed me by now, I'm greatful that I was found by nicest ones.

“For f***s sake. Joy get your ass away from that cliff before you hurt yourself.” I yelled. We just got her back there’s no way that I was going to lose her again. She turned back around and jumped.

“NOOOO!” I yelled running after her

“Damon don’t.” My brother yelled before running after me.

It was to late. I made my mind up and jumped, I couldn’t see anything. I surfaced and looked around, I saw my brother and Cain jumping in when they surfaced they had the same expression that I had. “Joy.” I yelled looking around for any sign of her.

We looked for her as much as we could. “Come on Damon it's no use she-she's gone.” He said with tears in his eyes.

“No she cant be we would feel it.” We swam to the beach and sat down. Maybe she will wash up to the shore I said to myself. I sat there for hours waiting until my mom came with blankets.

"Come on baby she's gone.” She said sadly.

“No she's not. I still feel her she's weak but I feel her.” Caine walked to me

“My sister is strong I have a feeling that she will be OK.”

"This is all our faults.” When we got back to the castle I went looking for Denise. I wanted answers she's the reason why Joy ran off. When I got to her room it was half empty almost all of her things were gone. I growled that b*tch! I stormed to my fathers study and slammed him on the ground.

“Where is she?”

“Who?”

“Denise! Where is she? Only a guilty person would run.”

“Son I don’t know. I haven’t seen her since your office.” I let him go and called my uncle Connor.

“Yeah!” He answered.

“Where is she?” I asked.

“Who? Damon is that you?”

"Yeah where is your daughter?”

“Isn’t she at the castle?”

"No she packed her things and left.”

“I haven’t talked to her. What is this about? Should I be worried?”

“I’ll call you later.” I said before hanging up.

How could we be so stupid? I should have believed her, I was just shocked we've known Denise for 70 years. Yes I said 70 me and my brother is 73 years old but you wouldn’t know it by looking at us.

We’ve been looking for our mate since we were 16 and now that we have her I wont let her go. Yeah we keep screwing up but it's not intentional. I'm not good with this feelings sh*t that’s Damien's department. I mind linked my patrol officers and told them to look out for Denise, wait until I get my hands on her that f*cking trader.

It's been days since Joy went missing and my wolf has been on edge. He wont shut the hell up about how I screwed up again. I’ve been sulking in my room for days not doing anything. We sent trackers around where she jumped and down the shore but her scent faded because of the water.

I was sitting there thinking about the little time we did have together my mind went to the day we marked her she was so mad, it was cute I loved to rile her up. Then a thought hit me we marked her that means we have a secure link, our mating link. God I’m an i***t!

Joy. I said through our mate bond.

Joy I know you can hear me. Answer me dammit!

She couldn’t ignore me for long she would get a headache.

Joy at least let me know that you’re alive.

A few minutes later she finally answered thank god.

I’m fine Damon.

Where the hell are you?

I’m somewhere away from you two now leave me alone I’m not coming back.

Joy I swear to god I’m not in the mood get back here now. I said before she cut off the bond.

Joy! I yelled. She ignored me again.

I ran down to my brothers room and burst in. “Shes fine! Shes OK!” I said.

“Damon.” He sighed. “Stop this we have to face it shes gone.”

“I just talked to her.”

“What? How?”

"Through our bond. I was talking to her before she blocked me out.”

“What did she say?”

“She said that she's fine but she's not coming back.”

“I’ll see if she will answer, I’m going to link you in DO NOT SAY ANYTHING.”

“OK.”

“I mean it Damon your temper always pisses her off.”

“OK.” I said irritated.

Joy? Nothing. Joy please it's me, it's Damien.

What do you want? She growled.

Where are you?

I’m not telling you, like I told Damon I’m not coming back.

Please Joy we're sorry. Let us explain.

Explain what? That you believed a friend over your mate. I cant do this right now good bye Damien.

Joy I promise we will find you and this time I will lock your *ss in this castle and you wont be able to go anywhere now get back here. I’m giving you chance if I have to find you- She cut off the bond again.

“Dammit Damon I told you to keep your mouth closed.”

“Sorry. I got a glimpse of her memory, I think I know where she is. It's near where we checked by the shore! Lets go!” I cant wait to see the look on her face, this time she wont get away I’ll lock her in a cell if that’s what it takes. I wont let her get away again.
