Emily’s POV Moments later, I was staring at the ruins that was my house. “This can’t be happening to me,” I kept muttering to myself. Austin’s strong hands were wrapped around mine as if to keep me from running into the pile of debris which was exactly how I felt right now. In the background, reporters swarmed with their cameras trying to get my attention but thankfully, the police and Austin’s security detail have been able to keep them away from me and I couldn’t be more thankful. “Do we know what started the fire?” Austin’s firm voice brought me back to reality, he was talking to the caretaker of the building. “We’re not exactly sure what happened because the fire alarm didn’t go off. It’s supposed to trigger the water sprinkler in any case and then alert whoever that is around
