Noel's eyes flew open and to his surprise he was back in his chambers. His line of gaze was on the golden chandelier hanging on the high ceiling.
"Are you awake, my prince?"
Noel looked to his side and gasped.
Stephen was sitting on a chair next to his bed with a book in his hand. His usual charming smile directed towards Noel.
"Ye-yes," June said, as he stood upright, "I am sorry for what hap—"
"You do not need to apologise for that," Stephen said with a shake of his head, "Your health condition is always something we should considered first."
Noel didn't knew what to say. The whole kingdom and people in another kingdom also knew about his narcolepsy.
He however was secretly insecure of his condition, he wouldn't imagine the amount of guilt he will feel to dump this kind of burden to his future life partner.
Noel twisted the sheets in his hand and cleared his throat. He never asked the other prince this question but decided to voice it out to Stephen.
"So you are here alongside other Princes to marry me," Noel began, he focused on the way he was twisting the sheets and spoke.
"Do you think my narcolepsy would be used against me?", Noel asked, "What I mean is will I be rejected for marriage because of my narcolepsy?"
Noel finally looked at Stephen, he nervously bit his lips.
Stephen's golden eyes had a soft look as his lips tugged into a small smile.
"I do not know about the other Princes," he spoke, "But as for me? It would be a huge pleasure for me to caught you whenever you fall."
Noel felt hot itchy heat travel through his neck and the back of his ears as he looked away from Stephen.
Oh, the other Princes had flirted with him. So much, he would have physical gagged at their fancy words and their usage. However, Stephen's words sounded simple and sincere.
"I will accept that reasoning," Noel muttered. He missed the way Stephen smiled at him.
Stephen stood up and said, "I will call your maid and let her take care of you now."
Noel looked up at Stephen and smiled, "Thank you."
Instead of going like he said he would. Stephen sat on the bed at Noel's side. The mattress dipped under his weight. Noel gave Stephen a confused look.
Stephen took Noel's hand and rubbed his thumb over it. His golden eyes looked glazed over as he leaned towards Noel and pressed a light kiss on his forehead.
Stephen pulled away with a smile.
"Do take care of your health, my prince."
Noel's mouth closed and opened like a fish as he slapped his hand over his forehead. He felt completely froze as stared at Stephen who was walking towards the chamber doors with a cat like grace. Stephen placed his hand on the door handle.
"Prince Stephen!"
Stephen turned to the direction of the voice. To his surprise Noel was standing up on the bed and pointed a finger at him in am accusing way.
"Yes, my prince?"
"Let's finish our meeting!" Noel declared and got off his bed. He hastily put on a coat and hopped on his legs as he tried to wear his boots.
Stephen watched Noel with an amused look on his face as he waited for Noel who thankfully did not fall.
Once Noel was done, he ran his fingers through his hair and looked at Stephen.
"I am ready," he said, with a sharp nod.
Stephen opened the door and got out. He then kept the door open for Noel to walk out.
"Where would you like to go, my prince?"Stephen asked.
Fifteen minutes later, Noel and Stephen were sliding on the cool marble floor wearing their socks.
"This is fun!" Noel squealed.
"I-is this an appropriate behaviour for a prince?" Stephen questioned as he held Noel's hand and slide through the empty room filled with paintings.
"Are you not having fun?" Noel asked.
Stephen let out a laugh, "I am."
"Then let us just focus on having fun," Noel said, "You are not Prince Stephen of Coudian but just a man in his early twenties, sliding through the marble floor in his cotton socks! And enjoying it for the matter of fact."
And Stephen did exactly the same.
The room was filled with loud laughters and giddy giggles. Finally, both of them decided to take a rest. They sat on the floor with their back against a wall. They were sitting next to a large window and feeling the light breeze. Both of them were breathing heavily and their cheeks were flushed into a rosy hue.
Both of them never had this much fun. Noel's last mission had stressed him out.
As the room fell into it's usual silence, Noel glanced at the window admiring the white clouds rolling through the bright blue sky.
"Prince Stephen?"
"Yes?"
"Why do you want to marry a Prince instead of a Princess?" Noel asked, "Of course, there is nothing wrong with a Prince marrying another Prince but I will be your main partner and the official second king with a status of a queen. What about your children from your Mistress? They won't be able to inherit the throne, right?"
Stephen hummed as he thought about the answers for Noel's question.
"It's like your reasoning, I like men not women and as for—"
The door of the room burst opened and knights in their grey armour marched in and aimed their spears and crossbows at Noel and Stephen.
Noel jumped onto his feet.
"What is going on here?!" He demanded.
Heavy footsteps followed his words and the knights parted their ways. It was the General of their Royal Army. He wore a golden armour with purple cape. His brown hair was short and his hard jaws were adored with a five o'clock shadow.
"General Vad?" Noel said.
The General held his right arm over his left chest and bowed.
"We apologise for the intrusion, my prince," General Vad said, his voice deep and loud, "However, the prince beside you is a dragon in disguise. We are here to capture him."
Noel frowned and looked back at Stephen who was just glaring at the General head on.
"It ca-can't be!" Noel yelled, "I mean—"
The ground suddenly started shaking. General Vad's eyes harden as he moved towards Noel.
"Your highness, hold my hand!"
Noel reached out for the General's hand but he slipped. However before he fell, he felt something large wrap around his body. He looked down and discovered four scaly fingers with large claws on each of them around his body.
He looked up and saw a large dragon with golden eyes looking back at him.
"Stephen?" He yelled.
As the dragon rose to it's full height, the roof of the room came tumbling down,. Large parts of random bricks and cement block fell on the floor with large thuds. The knights used their shields to block themselves and the dragon used it's large wings to cover Noel's head.
"You highness!" General Vad screamed, "Archers shoot!"
Noel saw nothing but heard sharp whooshing noises and the tumbling of the roof.
He felt his legs getting lifted off the ground. He looked down and realised the dragon must be flying. In fear of falling he gripped on the scales of the hand grabbing him.
As he flew through the capital, Noel finally had time to sort his thoughts and take the information in his mind.
Stephen, is the dragon prince.
[Congratulations host, your mission to discover the dragon prince is completed.]
