"Your highness? Your highness?"
Noel furrowed, he stirred slowly and opened his eyes. A girl with white blonde hair was looking at him worried.
Noel slowly stood upright blinking slowly and scratched his head. He lightly smacked his lips and tried to get rid of the sleep heavily hanging in his eyes.
"You majesty, you feel asleep in the garden again!" She exclaimed and helped Noel up who suddenly realised he was lying on the green grass surrounded by tall rose bushes.
Noel recalled the memories and found out that he suffered from narcolepsy. His maids would find him sleeping in the most off places therefore he was dubbed as the "Sleeping Prince."
Noel found himself getting escorted through the halls of the castle as one of his maid quickly filled him on the situation. Noel learned her name was Avis.
"His majesty have something important to tell you, my prince," Avis said, as she brushed his royal blue coats with golden linings, "They probably want to discuss your marriage."
Noel widen his eyes, "My what?"
Avis gave Noel a quick smile.
"Please don't do it again, your highness." Avis reminded him. She passed the brush to one of her assistant and strated fixing Noel's hair.
Last time? Noel wondered. What could have happened last time? He checked the memories and suddenly grew red.
"Father…and mother have called Princes this time?" Noel asked.
A week ago, his parents had called Princess from other kingdoms so Noel can marry one of them. That night they had a ball and no one was really paying attention to what Noel had to say so he took of his coat and shirts. He stood up on a table and loudly declared he liked men. Right after his declaration he ended up falling asleep right infront of everyone.
Avis gave him a teasing smile, "Your highness after how you took of your shirts and declared you like—"
Noel loudly cleared his throat getting embarrassed. They all stopped in front of the door leading to the throne room.
"Good luck, my prince." Avis said and left with the other maids following behind her.
Noel took in a deep breath and opened the door to throne room. The red carpet led him straight to the raised platform were his parents—the king and the queen were sitting.
The chairs on which the ministers usually sat was occupied by unknown men of royalty. Noel silently counted them, they were around twelve.
"Belle?"
[Yes, host?]
"Is the dragon prince here?"
[Yes.]
"Who?"
[Host, that is your mission to figure out.]
Noel took another deep breath and stood in front of his parents and bowed.
King William gave a small nod to Noel and gave a look to his wife. He cleared his throat and spoke.
"Son, we called you here to discuss your marriage. Since you do not wish to marry a Princess we invited the Princes. They will be spending a month here. Get to know them and pick the one whom you like the most."
"Yes father," Noel said. Secretly, he was confused. What kind of fantasy world was this, bthat accepted homosexuality just like that.
"First we will start with Prince Lloyd of Eyosan." King William said and lightly raised his hands.
A prince wearing a sap green coat stood up. Lloyd walked towards Noel and lightly bowed in greeting as Noel did the same. Lloyd had honey blond hair and green eyes that wrinkled in the sides when he smiled.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Prince Noel," he said and took Noel's hand and placed a light kiss.
Noel let out a short chuckle at the prince's act.
He is definitely not the dragon prince, Noel thought.
"The pleasure is all mine," Noel said as he pulled his hand from Lloyd's hold and added, "I prefer not having my hand kissed."
An awkward atmosphere filled the throne room after Noel's remark. His parents passed themselves a nervous look.
Their eldest son was going to take the throne soon and they wanted to make sure that their youngest son—Noel marries someone by then.
However, Noel can be difficult when he wants. They were nervous that their son might end up all alone even in the future.
However, Prince Lloyd smiled. Wrinkles appeared at the side of his eyes indicating they were genuine.
"Forgive me, my prince." He smoothly said, "I will keep that in mind next time."
Noel smiled.
"I would love that."
***
Three weeks had passed since Noel came here, he had already talked with seven Princes and spend time with them.
However, he wouldn't figure out who would be the dragon prince.
Among all the other Princes, Prince Lloyd stood out. From a casual observation anyone would say that Prince Lloyd would be the perfect life partner for the spoiled Prince Noel of Drural. However, Noel was focused on trying to find the dragon prince, since it was his mission.
"Is it Prince Caspian?" June asked.
[I can't tell you, host.]
"Is it that the Prince with a really broody face. I forgot his name—"
[His name is Prince Alton. Host, the fairytale are completely sealed until they are entered by a host working for the Faeries Incorporation like yourself. So, nobody knows who the dragon prince is.]
"Oh come on!"
June flopped down on his large bed and failed his arms around to express his frustration. He stopped when he heard his chamber doors open. He sat upright. Avis entered the room and bowed to him.
"Your highness, Prince Stephen of Coudian is ready to met you." Avis informed.
Noel walked in front of the mirror and fixed his hair and coat. Avis joined him and fussed around with his coat with a brush.
Noel wouldn't get used to his new face for it had been only three weeks. He had bright baby blue eyes and hades black hair which stayed in soft curls, that reached till his shoulders.
Today, he was wearing a white coat with golden linings around them.
Avis escorted Noel to the garden and towards the tall rose bushes.
"Prince Stephen is waiting for you in the pavilion, your highness," Avis said, "The tea have been already delivered."
In the center of the garden full of tall rose bushes, stood a tall grey pavilion made out of stones. In the pavilion stood a man with dark shoulder length hair tied into a low ponytail. He held a rose in his hand and was looking at it.
When he heard Noel and Avis come, he gently placed the rose on top of the table. He turned to greet Noel. Avis curtised and walked away.
When Noel saw Stephen, he was immediately mesmerized by his golden colored eyes. They looked like thick honey reflecting the sunlight as they dripped.
"Prince Stephen," Noel slowly said.
Stephen was a head taller than Noel and he had board shoulders.Stephen gave a charming smile, dimples popped at the button of his lips.
"Prince Noel," Stephen said with a nod of his head.
Noel smiled as he raised his hands to shake with Stephen.
Suddenly, his mind came to a halt and Noel's eyes rolled behind his back before he fell into complete darkness.
